This is a huge site just the other side of Oban. We were placed on a pitch with a good view of the sea and islands, it's pleasant to wake up to the sound of the sea.

The toilet blocks are fairly central with a long walk from where we were placed. I measured a half a mile round trip to the service block on my pedometer. I imagine if you have mobility issues the site operators will put you nearer to the buildings. I was very disappointed with the showers, although warm enough a six second burst with the push button is really irritating, and I hate sharing someone else's water flooding into my cubicle. My husband said the gents were better.

The shop is well stocked and pleasant staff operating reception. We walked along a track and found some more village shops a few minutes away. One was a little supermarket, a garage with a gift shop and a good selection of camping needs and a book shop come cafe. There is a good laundry but pricey. I got good at dodging children on bikes who appear oblivious to pedestrians!

I know this site has its fans but I probably wouldn't come back

Just returned from a few days at this site.

It is a nice site and the male showers are modern electronic type, so you don`t have to keep pressing the button every few seconds. Female ones are the press button type.

The wardens were helpful and friendly and guide you into your pitch so it is a simple process of levelling the van on the jockey wheel.

We were on the second row so had stunning views once the weather improved. It is a long walk to the toilets especially when it is raining.

But all in all a nice site.

We had a beautiful pitch 2nd row in overlooking the sea. The check in was quick and we were shown to our site by the warden. There were several water and waste points close to the pitch. The shop was well stocked and the staff were friendly and helpful. The dog walk was brilliant, the best we have seen on any C&MH sites, you can also walk them on the beach. Two happy dogs. You need a car to get anywhere, Oban is about 6 miles and Fort William 30 miles. In Fort William you can hire a mobility scooter or wheelchair free of charge, the office is close to the railway station. The views in Scotland were fantastic pity it rained every day of our holiday

A very well laid out site with beautiful views over the sea, a nice walk along the shore, a well-stocked shop, and clean and spacious toilets and showers. The friendly staff gave us (on having pre-booked) a nice level pitch a short walk from the facilities block and from the reception/shop, and with a lovely view (3rd or 4th row back from the water's edge).

There is a slightly old-fashioned feel though, no wifi and no credit cards accepted, and a £1 'booking fee' charged. Also the laundry facilities have instructions that aren't clear (or the machines don't follow the instructions they've been given), and the taps in the washbasins, showers and dishwashing sinks have frustrating water-saving features.

The main downside for us is that the site is very large, with few trees, hedges or fences to break up the long lines of motorhomes, caravans and statics. Many of the pitches appear to be 'seasonal', which paradoxically gives the whole site a rather empty feel despite being so big.

Very easy access to the site for even the largest outfits, check in was very quick and friendly, you then have to wait to be escorted to your pitch by the warden, (there is a motorhome service point by the parking area, so you can fill up while you wait). It is a very large site, so you could be quite a walk from the facilities, but all pitches are large, flat, and well spaced with fantastic views out across the bay. The beach is very nice with walks along the shore. There is a good dog walk along the old railway line through the site which is quite sheltered. The main toilet and shower block is spotless, but could do with updating, the one by reception is much better. The shop sells everything you might need. The bus stop to Oban is right outside the site and runs very frequently, you can take your dog, but remember you can't use your English bus passes in Scotland. We would use the site again as a stop over if going further north, but there is not a lot to do apart from Oban if you don't want to drive everywhere.

Fabulous site! Parked as requested by the warden on a lovely, nearly level pitch looking out to sea. The whole site is immaculate, really well cared for and with little interesting bits. We used the 'old' toilet block which was perfect, so clean and I don't know what was 'old' about it. The shop is amazing, is there nothing they don't sell? loads of food stuffs but loads of camping stuff too. 2 motorhome service points, very nice staff. Someone else put in their review about waiting to be shown to pitch, but although there are rules like that, they are very clear and not at all unreasonable, seems all to make it for a better experience for everyone. Generally we don't like big sites but this one is the exception. Very quiet, peaceful place. Thank you all.

On arrival quick check in, no waiting around lots of staff on reception. Shown to pitch by warden and all facilities explained by him once at pitch. All motorhome hard standing pitches seemed to be in same area with easy access & great views. Back onto old railway which is the dog walk, which is low down in relation to the pitch, so no problems. ( we have a dog so a bonus to have dog walking area in middle of site) Great shop on site, best we've ever seen on a site. 2 x motorhome service points, so no waiting to empty/fill, one with toilet cassette empty/wash/dose machine for £2. 00 which is a novelty. Once for 2 quid! Water pressure is low ( as are most sites in this area) so filling takes a little while to top up the tanks. Electric hook up points are locked so be careful not to overload or trip breaker (sorry didn't note rating of breaker) but have 24/7 response on site number to reset if needed. Didn't use the washroom/toilet facilities, (use my own on board van) but had a look and were very clean. Overall great site, every pitch has a view.

What a brilliant site. We stayed for two nights on our way to Arisaig and would have happily spent more time there. The pitches are large and I cannot imagine there is any pitch without a superb view of coast line and Islands. The scenery both forward and at the back of the site is stunning. The best dog walk (great for humans as well) I have come across.

Walk one way on the path and then the coastal path and you will be rewarded with a pub.

Walk the other way and you will find the big pink shop and a fabulous café/eatery and fish and chips

The washrooms and facilities are some of the best. I have noted reviews saying that the best pitches are all taken up with seasonal. They are all great pitches and it is worth noting the view from further back from the coastline is in many ways better then being on the front. We were on the third row back and had brilliant views.

I can see if you are at either end of the site the washrooms are a bit of a walk. I can't really think this is a problem for most people.

If an Elson point could ever be fitted at either end it would be perfect but I appreciate this is not necessarily an easy task.

The staff were brilliant and made sure that we knew where everything was including the walks and even asked if we would like the bus timetable which we did and used for the easy ride into Oban.

Wonderful site, brilliant stay we will be going again

Thank you

This has to be one of the most beautiful places to be. The staff could not have been more helpful. On explaining our daughters medical dependency on electric we were given an emergency number to ring if there was any problems. Whenever we saw any member of staff they spoke to us and we were frequently asked if all was well.

It was a fair walk from our pitch to the amenities but that was the only negative.

Easy access roads and entrance to site with large area to park while visiting reception. Care needed when leaving as cars can come at you fast although generally a quiet road. We were taken to a very good pitch by the warden who guided us in so I did not need the mover. Very nice view of the sea and islands. Pitches are offset so they all had a clear view. Water and drainage points are regularly placed and flat to drag your water. Toilet blocks are kept spotless, there was a cleaner present every time I visited. I tried the shower which has fancy lights you run your hand along. I got a blast of cold water but when I turned it to hot it became luke warm so I had a quick shower and got out. I had to get behind the curtain to get dried as the water did not turn off for a few minutes. Small stool too low to sit on. Not recommended waste of money? Normal set temperate showers better? Shop looks well stocked but we did not use it as plenty shops at Oban about 7 miles. Sea has shingle beach OK to paddle with old shoes on. Very calm when we visited. Good for teenagers and people with boats. Some people were fishing. Play park on site. Oban is very nice we parked in Tesco car park, free for 3 hours. Ferry and boat trips available and lots of shellfish stalls, cafes and restaurants. Very nice site with polite staff.
