A good site for kids with lots to do locally. Before arriving bring all your supplies as shopping locally id expensive. Could do with better signage on the roads as we got lost. Do visit the high Roman Colosseum in oban for great views down into the harbour. Clean and spacious toilets within easy reach of our van. Great chips shops in oban and good ferries out to the island
Well looked after campsite as you would expect from the CC club. Grass is better than mine at home

We started our tour round Scotland at this site.
The check in was quick and easy then our warden escorted us to our pitch. He guided us in and pointed out the facilities. This was a nice touch and was appreciated.
As with other reviews it was not pointed out that the gents shower block was out of order at booking time. We were told it was being refurbished and would open before we left. After noticing that there was no work being carried out over the next 3 days I realised this was not true.
The other shower block was spotlessly clean and really warm and modern. It was 1of the best I have used. My only complaint was that we had to drive from our pitch to the block because it was that far away.
Despite this we loved this site and the facilities and can't wait to return.

I visited North Ledaig over the Easter weekend, arriving without a booking. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I was led in to my pitch. It was explained to me that one of the men's toilet/shower blocks was out of commission, but I said I didn't mind a bit of a walk to the usable one.
This is a very large site, and it was quite busy with family groups. Children all seemed to enjoy themselves, and had great fun with the treasure hunt on Easter Sunday.
The toilet block has been recently upgraded, including new hi-tech showers. The problem with the closed block was that the new showers for that block had been four weeks late in delivery, which meant the block was not ready for the start of the season. Despite this, the usable block easily coped with demand and although the showers were all in use at one point, there wasn't long to wait.
The site shop is well-equipped and offers a good range of goods and food.
The site is in a nice location, with lovely views across Ardmucknish Bay and the Lynn of Lorn. There is plenty of walking in the area, and some nice quiet back roads for cycling. There is a bus stop across the road from the site entrance and a reasonably regular bus service to Oban.

This was one of the stand out sites of our Summer holiday. It's a big site and has a definite family holiday atmosphere.
On arrival, you check in at the large reception that includes a well stocked shop. Once checked in, a warden guides you to your pitch and explains all of the facilities.
Many of the pitches are located to take full advantage of the views across the water to Mull which leave you staring open mouthed when you first arrive.
There are plenty of toilets and showers and everything is top quality and well maintained. There are also good washing up facilities.
Immediatley opposite the site there is a bus stop where you can catch the bus into Oban. The bus also passes through Connell which is much smaller but still has a couple of nice places to eat. Also near to Connell you can take a boat trip up Loch Etive which is well worth the effort.
This was one of the sites we were sad to leave and would have liked a longer stay. Highly recommended.

This is a fabulous site with beautiful sunsets and views. The staff could not have been more helpful. Our towcar broke down on the way so we arrived with the RAC. The staff towed our van and set it all up for us and were realy helpful with details of car hire etc
We were metres from the water and although it was a large site it was surprisingy quiet and felt a lot smaller
Its a very well organised site. The showers and toilets were very clean and we never had to wait for a shower. There is a well stocked shop and plenty of info on the area. There was plenty of room between pitches and the whole place felt very relaxing.
Lots to do in the area. Oban. Fort William. Mull. Iona. Staffa. Easdale Island and Luing are just some of the things we did in the week we were there

This site is immaculate, well manicured grounds with spotless facilities, the most amazing views across to Mull and access to the beach direct from the campsite.
If you like to pitch in perfect rows, in the exact spot that the warden allocates, amongst 200+ other campers and abide by dozens of rules then this is the site for you.
Unfortunately for us it is not our idea of camping, it was not dissimilar to holidaying on a static caravan site.
We had pre-booked but on arrival were told that all the best pitches had been allocated to people that had just turned up, in fact our booking wasn't even entered into the computer but just scribbled on a bit of paper.
The staff were efficient but officious and I had a bit of an argument over the size of our van, which they insisted that at 6.10m was a large flat top - whatever that is! My husband was reprimanded for dropping me off at reception before parking up in the carpark. Apparently he should have gone directly to the parking area before I got out. Not a good start.
Once booked in we were taken to your pitch by a warden, where we had to park up in the exact spot allocated, and given a quick rundown of the facilities and rules, this is in addition to the A4 rule sheet handed out at reception and the rule reminders that are posted all over the site!
We were asked not to use more than 1 electrical appliance at a time for fear of blowing the electric circuit, which strangely for the park size was only 10amp.
It became quickly apparent to us that only caravans were allowed to pitch in the front 3 rows and therefore in a campervan or motorhome you would never be allocated a beachside pitch.
There is a cycle route that runs through the campsite, for most of its route (which I think runs from Oban to Fort William) its wide and tarmacked. From Benderloch to Connel its nothing more than a muddy path. However it allowed off road walking into Benderloch village, nice coffee shop; and out to the falls at Connel where the hotel allows dogs in the public bar. Both very friendly.
Oban is accessible by an hourly bus service from the site entrance where ther are ferry and train services. Next to the ferry terminal is a lovely fish / shell fish bar and behind this is a good fishmongers.
The Creagan Inn offers a free taxi service to and from the site, well worth a visit, again dog friendly, good selection of ales and wine and superb food.
Would I stay here again? definitely not, its not our cup of tea, we prefer something a bit more rustic and higgledy pickedy.

Very big site but really well looked after by the staff. Third visit to the site during the last 4 years. You can be a long way from the shower blocks if at the far end.
Great location overlooking the sea, which is shallow for youngsters to swim in. My one concern is that motorised boats, that can be launched from a slipway on the beach, don't seem to be segregated from areas where swimmers are and only niggle was that 2 out of the 3 washing machines were out of order.
Despite the large size of the site, I never had to queue for the showers(kept nice and clean) during the week I was there. 2 separate shower blocks, so one always open.
Good shop on site selling caravan spares as well as wide range of food. As exposed to the sea on the front pitches make sure your awning is well pegged down.
Great sun sets over the bay when the weather is nice. Bus to Oban leaves outside the site (£3. 30 return)

This is the best site we have ever been to! There are 2 toilet blocks; the new one by the shop is state of the art and the other is more than adequate and better than most CC facilities.
The thing that really made it for me was the view. We had a pitch facing the loch with nothing between us and the beach.
The staff are friendly and the shop is really well stocked. We needed rock pegs and rubber bands for the awning and they had both and more. I would agree that the fresh morning rolls are lovely and are 25p each!
There is loads to do in Oban and around. £15 to take the bikes over to Kerrera on the ferry was fantastic, be sure to stop at the gorgeous coffee shop which also sells food. The applejuice and spring water 'refresher' was gorgeous.
In Oban itself, try fish and chips from the chippy on George street - the best we tasted. Or the two seafood shacks by the harbour; one is round the corner near the Calmac ferry office and does great mussels in wine and garlic. Had the scallops at the first one on the quay cooked in garlic butter. To die for!
We went to mull for the day and Tobermorey was nice and not tacky as had imagined. Calgary beach was worth the drive, but get there earlier than we did as the little car park was full. White sand and blue sea; beautiful.
I didn't notice any of the staff being stand offish. They were charming and friendly; the youngsters that work there work very hard and the site is immaculate.
Hubby did complain about the one toilet emptying point being quite a stroll away, but I think he enjoyed 20 mins away from the kids really!
Overall this site is fantastic. Please stay away so I can get my pitch for next year!

Easy site to find and a big wide entrance, Staff very helpful and friendly and we got guided to a big hardstanding pitch which had fantastic views. The weather on our visit was appalling with record rainfall but this was not a problem at this site and the puddles very quickly dried out. Bus stop outside entrance meant a short ride into Oban.
Facilities all very modern, heated and spotless, never needed to queue and site was quite busy.
Would we go back? yes definitely the views looking out of the window are just stunning and you do not get tired of looking at them.
We can recommend the restaurant across from the harbour in Oban which means you catch the little ferry, a bit different! and the scallops are just fantastic

We had a family holiday with my parents in their caravan and friends in theirs. We were all pitched together, which was great, the views were amazing. What a treat to wake up every day to the amazing view of the calm waters.
The toilet and shower facilities were great, very clean and plenty of them. I liked having plug points and large mirrors in the ladies to enable me to 'escape' for a while for a shower and dry my hair away from the kids!
The play area was lovely for the children we have a 7 year old and a 20 month old, they both loved it. The shop was well stocked with everything we needed (including midge repellent!).
Oban itself was lovely, we liked the fresh fish stall outside the ferry terminal.
We were very lucky with the weather during our 1 week stay and had a full week of sunshine, whilst the rest of britain was getting hammered with rain. Whoever said it always rains in Scotland??
All in all, fantastic site, fantastic location. We hope to be back.
