Have visited this campsite a number of times over the years. It's in a beautiful position on the coast about 6. 5 miles north of lovely Oban. It has wonderful views & you can take a nice walk on the beach. The down side of a site literally on the beach is that if any bad weather comes along there is no shelter at all! The site is large & you are allocated a pitch so if you are unlucky it can be a very long walk to one of the facility blocks. I did notice that some people drive & park outside which doesn't work if you have a camper because you'd have to pack everything away each time you need the loo / laundry / shower / washing up. The welcome is always friendly but be warned they do not accept credit cards which I wasn't told about upon booking. Don't know if we'll return here as our most recent visit was completely spoilt by the man behind us on a seasonal pitch who quite rudely as we arrived asked how long we were staying & the next day as we were packing up asked if we were returning later! I can only think the elevating roof on our van was obscuring his view & that he didn't want us pitched there. If you are driving up/down the West coast it's definitely worth a stopover & it would be great for kids too.

What a pleasant surprise. Complete novice as I only just got the caravan a couple of weeks earlier and this site was recommended.
Turned up a couple of days before the park was fully open for the season so was greeted with great enthusiasm, lots of staff and wardens. Always happy to lend a hand. Shower Block was very clean and tidy with plenty of hot water.
The beach walks are great, 2 miles in to Lochnell Arms, a beer and a walk back. You do have to drive if you are looking for a forestry walk.
Oban is 15 minute drive away and full of all the usual shops and restaurants you would expect to find.
And what a view, no matter where you are pitched up.

What a fantastic site. Our first visit, this is now my favourite site, the views are amazing, the site is really well laid out so that every one gets a share of the view, the wardens are really friendly and hard working (typical of the caravan club perfectly clean toilets, rubbish areas ect; ) there is bus stop across the road taking you into Oban or one this side for Fort William ect;
Excellent location for ferries to the islands (we did mull and iona)
And amazing touring if you want to stay on the mainland. Will we return, Definitely hopefully for longer next time

This is my third time off going to this site.
I live in north Notts, eight hour drive.
But its worth every mile, I will be going back in September 2016. What a great place to have your 63rd birthday. Also the fishing is great I always take my dingy, its a man thing.

Check in seemed a rather complicated affair but friendly enough. After check in we waited for about 10 mins for a warden to escort us to our pitch. Unfortunately it was already occupied, so much for the check in procedure! Finally pitched up on a hard standing towards the rear of the site. Having been on a front pitch on previous visits we actually found the view from the rear even more spectacular. As we didn't use the awning I assumed that the car would be parked on the hardstanding alongside the caravan door, but, on reading the long list of rules, I found that cars were to be parked on the grass. Why I do not know.
As previous reviewers have said, the toilet facilities are very good although it is a long walk from many parts of the site. Oban has all the attractions of a small town and is the main ferry port for Mull and the Inner Hebrides, all adding to the pleasant buzz of the place.
An ideal place from which to explore the stunning west coast of Scotland.

Stayed here in Aug. 2015. When booking the staff were very helpful and gave us a lovely pitch overlooking the sea at the far end of the camp. Toilets and showers are lovely, the motorhome facility point is great and the warden showed us to our pitch initially. The shop on site offers quite a bit and there is a bus stop opposite to catch either a no 405 or 5 bus to Oban which runs at frequent intervals, this is used a lot by campers. One heads up, there are a lot of bunnies on the site. Would return again here, no problem.

It is a nice site. The office staff were helpful and friendly. The shop is quite large and well stocked for a caravan site. Great place if you have your own watercraft there is a slipway. And brilliant for dog owners, plenty walks.
Both toilet blocks were very clean. BUT it is a very big campsite and the toilet blocks while large enough are a long way to go from much of the camp area. If weather is marginal most people take the car to go to the loo. Also the taps are press to work but they stop as soon as you don't press so you need to fill the sink to wash hands. I think it uses more water not less.
The wardens are very vigilant but possibly a bit too jobsworthy. We were a bit late packing up but were told we should have been off by 12, it was only 20 past and we were clearly nearly ready to go and there was no one coming to take our spot anyway. I felt the chap laboured the point a bit about us being slow off the mark.
Another niggle is the electricity, it is 10A supply, fine, but normally if it trips you just reset it but here you need the warden to come and do it for you. So if you trip it at night. Tough. In all my caravanning I've rarely tripped the supply and they usually are 10A I think but it seems this 10A may be more sensitive.
Probably not go back but it is a good site over all. Just not quite for us. Very handy for Oban.

We are just home from three weeks here and I'm desperately wishing I was still there. What's great about this site is that from the moment you open the blinds in the morning, you still have an amazing panoramic view. You can see the weather coming before it gets to you - if Mull disappears you know it's time to bring in your deckchairs! And you are often treated to sunsets to die for. Midges are generally kept at bay by a breeze from the sea. If scenery is your thing, this is the site for you. If you're into on-site bars and entertainment, it's not.

Nice site indeed with fantastic location, edging directly onto nice sandy beach.
Good small water craft use can be achieved.
Well maintained and clean facilities.
Good friendly staff and the bonus of nice on site shop.
Child friendly.
Nice selection of hard standings.
Nice dedicated motorhome pitches.
Plenty of children's facilities, nice walks either side of site
Don't think anything could improve this site.

A great location with facilities not too short of full Caravan Club standard however the site is run to very tight guidelines almost to the extent of being rule happy as a couple of wardens officious and rude but others exceptionally pleasant ie an atmosphere of management verses customers with some. Charging seems to be looking to extract fees for the smallest item I would suggest not in the spirit of a normal Caravan Club site (ie this one affiliated). Site provided for my camper and awning smaller than requested and effectively a 3 vehicle car park even though there were several suitable and stunning pitches seemingly available. Having said all this the location is awesome with nearest pub in North Connel a 40 min walk away and restaurant at Benderloch less than 30 mins walk with both easily accessible by cycle way on old railway track. Did feel young at this ate at a sprightly 58! shop better than average. Could have been a break of real exeption which turned out slightly above average ie great potential if only the owners knew how the place was run which is not unique on large sites which attract the masses. Don't let this put you off visiting-just have an expectation.
