This is the 3rd time we have stopped here. The lad who takes the money who I assume is in charge is the best, happiest, most helpful warden we have ever come across in 25 yrs of camping.
The site is excellent, clean, two toilet/shower blocks always clean too. Portree is great although busy, excellent food choices and a great walk down, if not a little steep coming back but saves having to drink and drive.
Cant recommend it enough and we will be back although maybe not next year.
Could do with some sort of re-cycling system but other than that its faultless.

I have never camped before but found this to be a nice clean site.
The toilets and showers were spotless.
Tent pitches were quite packed together as it was busy but it was still very quite. Only problem was the fact that the only pitches left were on hills.
The site itself did not have much of a view because the trees blocked out a lot of it but take 5 minutes walk and you had some stunning views.
The walk to Portree was nice, the walk home was hard work because of the hill.
There was the option to have wifi access but as I never tried it I can not say if it was any good or not.

Fantastic Campsite owners very friendly. The couldn't do more for you we where the 5 night on on the second night my little boy took ill and was sick all over our bed.
The owners daughter, came and asked if we where ok and gave us tokens to wash the bedding at 1 o'clock in the morning and even went to her house and got us her duvet as we had no covers and it was cold at that time in the morning.
Will definitely be back had a fantastic Holiday in Portree and will be back next year to this wonderful site.

I spent a few days at torvaig site and found it very relaxing. John, who collects the money in the morning, was very cheerful and most obliging and can give you all sorts of advice, walks etc.
It's a 20 minute walk into portree and about a half hour walk on returning as its an uphill climb. A taxi rank is available at the square in portree though the fare to torvaig site various depending on the driver you get. As a guide between £3.50 and £5.50.
Many nice views to be seen, one of my favourites trips is to the stein inn along the dunvagan road then turn right for waternish and find donavans ex house at the top of the hill leading to stein inn.
I intend to go back to torvaig before the closure in October and recommend the site to all who are thinking of going.
The site was very clean and the prices are very reasonable. £6 per person without lecky, with lecky add £3.

This site is ideal for walking into Portree it cost us £5 for a taxi back,
the only negative points I can see are the roads going through the site are very narrow and there are wooden poles stuck in the grass on all the bends, I find this strange when there are cars parked all over the grass beside tents so not ideal when trying to manoeuvre a caravan round.
The pitches are close together and from what I see most of them are on a slope so blocks are needed.
Everything else on this site is ideal toilets etc

We stayed for the weekend of the Skye half-marathon and the site proved to be ideally located for this event, near to Portree and having staff involved in the race!
Portree is a lovely town with fresh sea food on offer at the pierside and in the restaurants.'Harbour View' Restaurant was especially good.
We also cycled and Skye offers fantastic hill training on 2peninsular loops of 50 miles each.,Island Cycles' the local bike shop is very helpful.Site showers, toilets, washing facilities excellent.
Rate of £15 per night- good value and internet available at reasonable charge if needed. We will be back again next June!

A couple of miles to the north of Portree a small well run family site. The site caters for caravans and tents, tent pitching on a slight slope but some flat pitches available. Caravans / motorhomes can pitch on grass or on a separate hardstanding area with ehu. Majority of hardstanding level but some pitches definitely needed levelling blocks.
Showers / toilets very clean and well kept. Plenty of hot water and no queues. Washing up area at the house and also a washing machine and drier.
Very quiet site with no noise and mainly families staying. No shops in the area just peace and quiet and a few houses near to the entrance of the site.
This is a great little site to be near Portree which has some good shops and a supermarket (small one in town and larger one on the edge of town). From the harbour plenty of boat trips available and fresh fish for sail from the quay.
This was a really well run site where everything was very well kept – would recommend.
We paid £15 with ehu / 2 adults.

An absolutely brilliant site.
The views are absolutely stunning, especially early in the morning - looking out to see the Cullins sticking out of the early morning mist was spectacular.
Showers were excellent (and free, unlike other sites I could mention), the toilets were clean, the staff were friendly and informative, and it was excellent value as well, only being £13 for the camper and electric hook up. We ended up staying for 2 nights despite only planning at the outset of our trip on staying for 1.
The only real complaint I have about the place is the hill on the way up to it. Going down to the town to the shops is fine, but coming up again with some heavy shopping is a killer! However, if you're fitter than me, then it's not a problem

Lovely location, well kept and very tidy. Good friendly welcome, even though site was nearly full. Site is on a slight slope but standard of grass and spotless facilities we're a welcome after 350 miles on motorbike. Only stayed one night, but going back next year for a week. Very handy for portree.
Nice walk down hill, but a wee trek after the pub on way back up LOL. Could do wi a wee shop. Even just for essential stuff. Local town a treat for bits and pieces. Local pipe band plays in town square at nights. Good shops. Great views of harbour.

Brilliant campsite in a beautiful location within easy walk of Portree. The views here a lovelly and there are plenty hardstanding pitches with elec hook-up. Don't try to book this just turn up mid day and pick your spot then pay next morning. Stay as long as you like & pay in the mornings.
The toilets & showers are excellent and plentiful. The pitches are large and dry - even on our rainy days. Washing machine & washing up area is under cover. We paid £15 per night (incl elec) & felt that was value for money.
If this site had a playpark for the kids we would have stayed more than the 4 days, but we would definitely go back. Go for Fish & Chips at the old harbour but avoid the bakers in Somerled Square Portree!
