Just returned to this wonderful site.
The views are excellent. The site is tiered and all pitched face the spectacular views of Anglesey, the bay and the Great Orm.
The owner and her team keep the site immaculate, they even assist you when you pitch your van.
Toilet block is excellent, clean and well kept. The site is near to the A55 but we didn't notice any excessive road noise.
As the site is on the hillside by the sea, there is a breeze and in inclement weather can become gusty. This can give problems with awnings.
It is very well positioned for visiting local tourist spots such as Conwy, Llandudno, (A trip up the Great Orme in the tram is well recommended. ) The beautiful gardens at Bodnant, Bwets y Coed and Anglesey.
There is a convenience store, newsagent & chip shop in the village within walking distance. Also The Gladsone (we didn't try this one) or the Fairy Glen pub nearby.
We love the place and this was our 3rd visit in 2 years. Would recommend a visit.

Pros.
Everything that the owner & her team have control of is excellent. The site is immaculately kept, the views are spectacular, the Toilet block is as good as it gets. Access & site security are very good.
Cons.
There are two drawbacks which the site has no control of.
1. The A55 is directly below the site & carries the traffic for Holyhead Ferry Terminal, so Heavy Trucks are running 24/7, so road noise is constant. It is worth being aware of this.
2. When high winds blow through the site the location is very exposed.
I found the road noise a problem at night, but this was the only downside to a very well run site.

Stayed here for a week late July and couldn't have found a better site, perfect for touring the Lleyn peninsula and North Wales.
Great pub, the Gladstone, just below the site, booking is recommended for the Steak nights and the Pie nights!
Mountain backdrop and sea veiws, exceptionally well kept by Pam and her team with the finest toilet facilities we have seen.
Dog walk at the entrance of the site, shops within a few minutes walk, Morrisons and Tescos supermarket a few minutes drive along the main road.
Children not allowed under 18 so will not be bringing our grand children.
Will definitely be returning to this site!

Now were do I start, what a fantastic site this is. We decided to try it by plucking a site in north Wales totally by random and how lucky was our choice. Straight from the moment you arrive you start to relax. Unfortunately the office was at dinner (our fault as they say arrive after 2 pm) so we had a drink in the gladstone pub (at the bottom of site)while we waited. On booking in the owner was extremely helpful and polite and 2 men then showed us where our pitch was and kindly helped us to locate it and set the caravan up.
The site is on a nice slope but all the pitches are level and no other caravan seems to interfere with the beautiful view of the sea and coastline.
There are plenty of interesting and scenic places to visit and wind down from a hectic work schedule as we do and most certainly did here. There is a small local shop and chippy over the back in the village, and you are only a couple of miles away from a supermarket if needed.
The toilets and showers and shower wet-rooms are immaculately clean as is the washing up area which also houses 2 complimentary chest freezers for any guest to use free of charge. The grounds are kept lovely but you never hear them at work, only bids chirping or the occasional car.
There is also a nice dog walking area near the bottom of the site. I would recommend this site to any one as I could not criticise any part of our visit what-so-ever and will definitely be returning next year. Well done to the owner and her team, as they are a credit to the world of caravan sites.

Excellent site. Great location. Very friendly staff. Tried for years to get on before eventually being successful. As you can see from other reviews it is a very popular site.
The only disadvantage I could find was that the pitches were smallish and tight to get in. However, this is massively outweighed by the location.
We will be visiting again whenever we can get on. Note to self - book in advance.

We have stayed here several times over the last two seasons and have booked again for 2013. We love this site, it ticks so many boxes for us. The location is brilliant for touring round, Anglesey with it's wonderful beaches is an easy drive. Llandudno with it's wonderful promenade is another easy drive away and the site is in the heart of Snowdonia with it's many picturesque walks.
The site itself is very well maintained, the shower/toilet facilities can't be faulted and are always spotlessly clean and lovely and warm when the weather isn't quite so good.
Pam and her team are helpful from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart,
Can't speak highly enough of this site.

How can anyone possibly criticise this site ?
It had everything !
The toilet block / shower room was the best I've seen it was immaculate, whatever time of day you went there.
The pitches were of a decent size, with some outstanding views of the Irish Sea and Anglesey.
Pam (the owner) and her team were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble.
The nearest hotel (The Gladstone), is just a 5 minute walk away, but the prices are a little on the high side. Another pub (The Fairy Glen) is a good mile walk, but the food and the drink is less expensive, and the quality is equally good.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay, especially as there is so much to see nearby.
Oh, almost forgot, the bus stop is just 2 minutes walk from the site entrance.
We will definitely be trying to go back.
Thank you so very much Pam, and here's hoping to see you again soon.

A great site.
A key reason for going are the views, simply fabulous from almost any pitch. It is so relaxing looking out of the van window (there was plenty of rain!), just absorbing the tranquillity and appreciating the wonderful sea and coastline.
Site is on a slope, pitches level, and drainage no problem at all. The main road is within earshot, but background noise soon blends into the background. Such a good location for exploring the delights of North Wales, including Anglesey.
Staff took us to our pitch and located the van in position incredibly quickly, advising all the small tips to get set-up quickly. As in other contact with staff, all needs were not a problem, very helpful and genuinely wanting us to get the most from our stay. Very good local guides and places to visit, including local eateries.
Shower block is modern, very clean and not wanting, as were other facilities like dish washing and handy fresh water taps.
Our pitch was slightly 'cosy' in size, fairly close to our neighbours, although majority of other pitches seemed to offer more space. Hence parking the car adjacent needed to be quite precise. A very small price for such a delightful site, definitely we would return.

This was our 3rd visit to Tyddyn Du, we have been going for the last 3 years on the last full week of October and have already booked for next year.
The site is easy to find off the A55 at Junction 16 then 1st left onto Ysguborwen Road - site on the right just after The Gladstone. The toilet block is kept very clean with very hot showers (a bonus on cold autumn days), laundry & dish washing facilities to the rear of the toilet block are good though it could do with better lighting on the path at the rear of the block. The views are excellent, though being in an elevated position EXTREME care should be taken with awnings later on in the year as it can get very windy with not much warning (we have witnessed a few that have been blown/taken down during the night due to high winds). The site has good TV & satellite reception, and also has WiFi internet connection for anyone who wishes to use it.
The site is a good base to visit the surrounding area with Angelsey, Llanberis & Betws-y-coed all within 20 miles (just). There was an annual food festival on Saturday & Sunday 23-24th Oct in Conwy with many stalls selling all sorts of food & drink, also some live acts at the harbour. We had a pleasant visit to the RSPB centre at Llandudno Jnct one afternoon. Looking forward to our next visit where hopefully we'll find something new, here's to Oct 2012!

Fantastic site, wonderful one million pound views over Puffin Island and Great Orme, very nice owner (Pam) and staff who set you up on site and good facilities.
Although good facilities the Gents loo's (and the ladies according to my wife) would definitely benefit from better lighting, there are three main lights in the Gents but no lights above the WCs and poor lighting above the showers.
The dog walk would also benefit with fencing around it. For those without the need for an awning this is a good place but if you need to erect an awning keep an eye on the weather forecast (posted in the information room) because the wind can get rough.
The road noise for me was intrusive so I will not be going back which is a pity because if you moved the road it would be brilliant.
