Not going to try to sound too negative, but this is not the best site we've stayed at.
The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and fantastic walks from the site, the area is great and there is plenty to see and do.
The site is well positioned, easy to find
and quiet if located away from the road. The facilities are clean, but desperately need up dating especially when they are under pressure at peak times.
The pitches are cramped and they do seem to squeeze in as many as they can, if using the hardstandings, please be aware they also need desperately updating and will not absorb any liquid should it fall heavily from the sky, you do end up in a swimming pool.
Would I return, not sure, if money is spent on it then without a doubt but talking to regulars on site they have been complaining about the same things for 5 years so can't see it happening soon.

This is our 4th visit to this site, wardens are always friendly and helpful, some road noise if you are pitched close to entrance side of site.
Great walks from site and good bus links once you have got into Verwood (busy road no path for first 600yds. Free car park near bus stops, buses to Ringwood, Bournemouth and Poole.
Toilets are always clean, but are badly in need of replacement. Come on Camping and Caravan club spend some money on Verwood.
You will need a directional TV aerial and possible blocks depending where you are pitched.

Very, very good site. On arrival was met by the site manager who offered a selection of pitches and advised on which he thought were most suitable. Very slightly sloping but not a problem.
Pitched reasonably close to the road, which I had read was busy. I suspect that it may be that I am from a largish town but I found the road to be reasonably quiet and it never disturbed me.
Facilities although a bit dated were scrupulously clean whatever time of day you visited.
Nicely kept games room, which was largely used by older children without there being a problem.
Manager tried to keep childless campers together which worked well as not everyone wants hordes of kids.
Overall a very good site and I would definitely visit again.

We had a very pleasant stay here.
The site is easy to find and well located for discovering Bournemouth and surrounding area. The site staff were friendly and efficient and we were given a pitch adjoining other family members as we had requested in advance which was great.
Although slightly sloping this did not bother us and did not seem to be a problem for other campers either.
We found the facilities to be very clean and pleasant.
The road noise bothered us for the first couple of nights. I think if we were to return we might ask to go to the other side of the site and away from the children's' play area which was very noisy until dark most nights.
We have a six year old and a four year old (both girls). They enjoyed the Heavy Horse Centre which is nearby. We all loved the Country Park just ten or so minutes away, where you can hire bikes or even just go on the play trail which has giant wooden climbing frames - it was perfect for our children.
The narrow gauge railway there was fun too. We had a great day in Bournemouth being entertained in the gardens by the New Forest Dixieland band, the crazy golf and the beach. We also went to Burley where we hired bikes and a tag along for an afternoon and went on a five-mile trail and saw lots of ponies - £10 each for the adult bikes and £5 each for the child bike and the tagalong - since we had not pre-booked we thought this a good deal.
We also spent an evening on a beach - Hengistbury Head - with grandparents' dogs - at low tide and full sunshine - great for bathing, sandcastles and dogs!
All in all a great holiday and a good site. The shop is basic but Morrisons is only five minutes away. The fish and chip shop recommended by the site did great kids' portions as well as decent-sized adult ones.
The site location is not particularly special. We have been to other sites which we have felt have been more peaceful and relaxed but it was a good base for exploring the surroundings.

A great site, such a friendly welcome. Was a busy bank holiday weekend but didn't feel overcrowded. Would certainly use the site again.
Yes, the toilet blocks are old but they couldn't be any cleaner, which is more important. Whatever time I went in the place was immaculate.
The downside was the shop - stock and opening times. A very limited range, maybe due to local shops not too far away (by car). Why open at 9am, if it opened earlier you could get a good breakfast trade from those who don't have chilling facilities.
Overall a good place to stay with many local attractions - Dorset Heavy Horse Centre only a short drive and a full day out.

We are asked to write a full review. However, I cannot really as the site is just as great as our last visit. (this was our third stay) All I can say is please see our previous review, and ignore the bit about the signage - the foliage has been cut back and the sign is now nicely visible.
Added to make up total characters:-
Toilets / showers / washing / washing up facilities all first class, scrupulously clean. Although our caravan has its own shower, I could tell from washing my hands occasionally that there is a plentiful supply of hot water.
Local amenities are excellent, including the nearby Morrisons and Swans pub with discounted meals. Not walking distance, but near enough for a short drive.
We are no strangers to the area, and there are so many attractions within reasonable travelling distance, that not only will we be back next year, I reckon we will be staying in the area for many years to come and still not run out of places to go.
Full marks Verwood C & CC for another lovely stay.

The sites was tidy and quite quiet.
The facilities are in the middle of the site with the pitches all around.
At this time of year a walk through the woods allows views of the bluebells which were spectacular.
The facilities were clean throughout.
The water areas were a little disappointing. The water did not soak away easily causing waits at busy times.
We would have liked a little more lighting away around the site at night.
We enjoyed our stay but would probably try some other sites in the area next time.

This is our 3rd visit this year and we still consider the site a nice one, access onto to busy road could be better and we were disappointed that the toilet facilities were still in need of an up date, they were however still very clean.
One point do not take advantage of the discounted meals at the Swan Pub, you will be disappointed with the quality.
One minor thing if you have hard standing try to avoid the L shaped ones. All staff on site are very helpfully and a credit to C&CC. Any one with a bus pass can park the car in a free car park in Verwood and get a bus to Poole, Bournemouth or Salisbury, great value, while it lasts.

Second time we have visited this site and it is excellent. Accessed directly from the main road with nice wide entrance and one way system so no need to worry about meeting vans coming out. Friendly welcome from the warden.
All the hard standing pitches were taken so we accepted a grass pitch and were assured that it would not be boggy. We were told that the lower field was wetter. We appreciated this honesty on the pitch conditions. We were advised that we would have a lovely view from a pitch at the top of the site and it was!
Freshwater and waste bins were situated in nice fenced off areas and plenty of electricity points. We used our own facilities but had a look at the site ones which were clean and there was a small shop that sold the basics.
We were given a very useful list of rules of the site and where doctors, shops, pubs ('Swans' pub gave a discount on meals to CCC members)etc could be found. The wardens did ask that they were told of any improvements that campers felt were necessary.
The site was quite busy for the time of year, I imagine, but there was no night time noise. The weather was good (very lucky) and we extended our stay. Would definitely use this site again.

This was our second visit to Verwood; the first was last year and I am ashamed to admit I didn't leave a review.
What a lovely site, so peaceful and informal, yet very well organised. Nothing was too much trouble for the site management; I see we are not encouraged to 'identify' wardens so I will do so on the C & CC website. We even had assistance with internet searches for our needs.
The site is beautifully maintained. There are water supplies and waste water disposal points a-plenty. Deserving special mention is the clean chemical disposal with a handy tap/hose for rinsing out the cassette while doing the 'man' work (sorry girls - I know those of you on your own also do this - no offence meant!)
Toilets/showers/washing/washing up facilities all first class, scrupulously clean.
Only one tiny downside, not the fault of the site owners/wardens; the brown sign for the campsite is partly covered by foliage. Our visit last year with the folding camper on included a 10 mile detour as we were heading for the spot shown on our quick look at the Google map and the postcode comes up a bit of a distance up the road and I caught sight of the entrance out of the corner of my eye, too late.Anyone heading there without knowing this, when coming up from Verwood take care once past the Crane Valley Golf Club - clearly there on the left - Verwood C & CC site is the immediate next on the right.
The site is a credit to the C & CC club
