Just back from a 2 night stay at this camp site, quite easy to find, we were able to pitch anywhere we liked and even though it was early March there were a number of caravans and a few other campers around. Very peaceful site with excellent facilities - heated toilet/shower block is brilliant after a cold night in the tent! We liked the idea of a camp fire so were disappointed when there was no wood to be bought from the house (as advertised) that said, there is an Esso garage less than 2 minutes walk away which sells bags of wood for just £3, we had also been struggling to get maps/directions to the various walks near the site but the very friendly man in the garage was also able to help with this! He gave excellent directions to the Torrent Walk which is a must for anyone staying at this site, you just come out of the camp site onto the road, turn right and walk for just a couple of minutes, you'll see a house and a little bridge, the walk is just there to the right. There is a yellow man sign with an arrow and a post that says 'Torrent Walk'. It is a little steep in places but nothing too strenuous and well worth it, it is a circular walk which took us a couple of hours with much meandering and stopping to look at the views. The walk into Dolgellau took about 10 minutes so civilisation (and the pub) is not so far away. I would definitely recommend and would go back here - possibly in the warmer months!

This is a fantastic little site, we stayed here for new year and to explore snowdon once more! We found the people to be friendly and the facilities to be clean and warm.
It is a tight lane to get to it but this is wide enough for all caravans provided you don't meet anything going the other way. Lovely little place and some fantastic walks around.
We will be returning again no doubt!

We went at low season, so campsite was very quiet but not empty, there were a couple of other tents and maybe one caravan and one campervan. We stayed on the ridges above the main field, while we were there there were rams in the field with us but they were no bother. Beautiful views, which got better the further up the field you went (boyfriend of course had to choose one of the highest spots, really nice unless you've just been mountain biking or up snowdon, then hard work to walk up to.)
We took our mountain bikes with us which we kept in the secure storage, basically a big metal container with a big lock on it. When we wanted to get our bikes in or out of the shed we had to go to the house and someone would come round with the key, but was never a problem and they were always very friendly.
Shower and toilet facilities were very good and always kept clean even though it rained a couple of times, although don't expect any luxury, its a basic campsite.
Reason we chose this campsite from others was the campfires being allowed. Its best to take your own kindling and small stick, when we went we bought a campfire bag the first night and it didn't have enough sticks for kindling in and the logs were too big for a small campfire, especially trying to start one up.
Overall, can't wait to go back again, good location for mountain biking, walking, and going to the beach as long as you have a car. O and you might want to take wellies or walking boots, you will get muddy!

A lovely small site with two lakes (so young children would need careful supervision) just outside Dolgellau. Narrow access lane c 300yards long.
Well signposted off the A470. Excellent and clean, heated toilet block with modern spacious showers including a family/disabled shower/loo. Level pitches with hook-ups.
Mixed range of vans/caravans and tents. The adjacent farmhouse does B&B and campers can, if they wish, order breakfast at the farmhouse. 300yards away is a petrol station/shop and a Little Chef.
We walked into Dolgellau to Y Sospan bistro (15mins walk each way) and can recommend that as an excellent local place to eat. Price was very fair, £15 for large M/home 2 people and hook-up. I would definitely camp here again.

We have just spent a great bank holiday weekend at this site. The toilet and showering facilities were kept very clean and everyone was happy to mop up after they showered using the mop and bucket provided. There were 4 adults and 3 young children in our party in a very large tent. There was plenty of room on the pitch to accommodate us. There is no children's play Area, but to be honest the children did not need it. They made friends and played with other children.
We all loved being able to have a campfire every night, especially the children as they were able to toast marshmallows ( with adult help).
The site is in a beautiful area with picturesque views.
Will definitely return to this campsite and have already recommended it to family and friends.

A great site set in superb surroundings. Ideal for visiting this part of Wales. Walkers and cyclist alike can make this a great base to explore.
It has a very relaxed atmosphere. There is a shop local to the site, it has gas etc if you need to replenish. There is also a Little Chef for those wanting a quick fix meal.
The facilities are set at a very high standard.
Nights were quiet, no rowdiness.
Ideal for campers of all sorts, tents, caravans and motorhomes. Small camp fires are allowed on site. Pubs are a drive away, take your own.
Stayed 4 nights, Will be booking next year.

Spent 3 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Received a nice welcome from the owner and was allowed to pitch anywhere. Campfires are allowed and created a good atmosphere. No playground but no-one stopped or complained about children playing football, frisby, tennis and cricket and they loved the ponds and ducks. No fencing around the pond so children need to be watched but there are warnings in the information leaflet. The local walks and attractions also mean no playground is required. Our daughter requested toilets with no bugs(!) and was so happy here she agreed to shower every day. Showers get very busy in the morning and floors can get dirty but they are cleaned regularly and never left dirty. There are fridge freezers for general use but they get very full and aren't very cold. Overall I would recommend this site and spoke to several people who use it regularly.

Just come back from a trip to Dolgellau. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by a wonderful smell of wood fires burning, mainly from the tent pitches which were on slopes around the site. No pitch demarcation which made it a bit awkward because after we had pitched, we saw an electric hook-up cable randomly placed nearby. It turned out it was a motor home who had bagged his pitch that way and was not happy when he returned because we had apparently 'stolen' his electric hook-up. Never seen that way of bagging a pitch before in 20 years of caravanning but anyway perhaps I've led a sheltered life. The hook-up on the other side of our caravan wasn't working but the next morning it was sorted out straightaway.
We had no problems with noise as has been reported by others. People were chatting and laughing until quite late but it's holiday time and there was nothing rowdy that would keep anyone awake. Toilets and showers were good and clean. We paid £24 per night which was a bit steep I felt because there were no extra facilities but other than that I thought it was a very acceptable site.

Visited the site on a walking holiday great location and nice people. Plenty of space to play and pitches very large.
Location was good for walks but needed a car to get around. Facilities very clean and pretty impressive local scenery.
Booking very easy and checking in etc was good.
Will maybe visit the site again next year but will probably try and go on a quieter weekend.

On arrival the Staff were really nice and told us we could have any pitch we wanted.
The toilet block was spotless and was cleaned twice aday without fail. It was the best toilet block I have ever used.
It is about a 15 min walk into town from the site. The town is small with some nice pubs and has a beautiful walk along an old railway which goes right to the coast.
All in all this was a really good site and we would go back or recommend this site to anybody
