Went to this campsite for 4 nights with my hubby and daughter with our tent and found the campsite easy to find. Very clean and nice lay out with good showers and toilet and in aug still quite a good thing that you don't always find is that you can have a camp fire which is nice for keeping you warm on the cold uk nights. We did think it was near to snowdon hill but still not to bad about 45min away. Would go back. About 20min walk away from nearest shops but a garage about 10 min walk away. Does say an outdoor swimming pool near by but no one known where? other then that it was nice.

This was the first time I'd been camping for a long time and the first in a tent. Although it was a very cold (mainly due to our cheap tent that was), I cannot fault the camp site at all. It was superb, picturesque and very well maintained. The toilet and shower block was great and had recently been built. It was very clean.
The people were very friendly and wanted to help us when we asked about the surrounding area. The lovely little house that the campsite belongs to offers camp fire sets for a small fee so that you can huddle round the fire of an evening as we did. It was unique as many campsites don't allow fires.
The only thing that may concern some people but didn't hinder my get away is the A road that runs parallel with the campsite however this generates little noise.
The campsite was fantastic and so were the people. It was reasonable is price and not far from Barmouth

Fantastic site in a beautiful location. Amenities were rally good and the owners were very helpful but not breathing down your neck as on some other sites we have been on. We visited in a family group with others in tents and we were all allowed to pitch together which was great. It was a novelty being able to have a camp fire and all in all, we had a great weekend. Would definitely visit again

Fantastic little site in a very convenient location for local attractions it was easy to find and the owners were lovely, we even decided to stay longer. Very clean shower block apart from in late afternoon where it got a little muddy after people had been in with muddy footwear. Nice hot showers and separate sink cubicles. Very quiet and all other campers were very respectable with very little noise after 10pm. It is located next to a main road and yes you can hear traffic noise - but only if you listen for it, once you are reading, eating etc it fades into the background, and I hardly noticed it at all. Not able to work into Dolgellau however if you have a car and bikes it is very accessible on the main road takes a couple of minutes to drive into where there are local amenieties. Very lovely area surrounded by beautiful countryside and mountains. Torrent walk is a great walk and thoroughly recommend taking a map and making it a longer walk. I really do recommend this campsite for everybody families and couples.

I stayed at this site to do some walking in the area. When I arrived it was fairly busy, and some of the parts of the site were quite crowded. There seemed to be a lot of groups of young people on the site, and as the site allowed camp fires there was a lot of noise quite late into the night, well past midnight at a guess. Although there was a sign at the entrance asking people arriving after 10pm to pitch in a separate area, there was one group still putting their tent up at 11.30pm on one of the nights. The site is also quite near to a main road, so you do get a fair bit of traffic noise. The facilities on the site were modern but there simply weren't enough to go around. There were only two showers and three sinks in the gents, plus a disabled room with a shower, toilet and sink combined. On one of the evenings I queued about 20 minutes to get a shower. The sinks were enclosed in cubicles, which meant that if people were using them for a wash there was nowhere to wash your hands after you'd been to the toilet. There also wasn't any soap in the toilets, which doesn't seem very hygienic as I doubt many people bring soap down with them when they go to the toilet. There were fridge freezers, a washing machine and dryer, a drying room and bike storage available. The walk into Dolgellau took about 30 minutes, and there were plenty of pubs, shops and a Somerfield's there. I'd stay on this site again, but probably not on a summer weekend.

A nice little site, situated just a few minutes drive from Dolgellau, and just a few minutes walk to a 'Little Chef' for breakfast etc.
Ideally situated to get onto the cycle networks, as we did, turn right out of the site down the lane, and at the junction, cross over the road and head off up the side lane which takes you towards the cycle route. Alternatively, cycle routes also start in Dolgellau itself.
Immaculate toilet and shower block with a mop supplied to clean up after yourself leaving it clean for the next person.
Camp fires are allowed on the site.
The only negative point that I can think of is that we were pitched next to the toilet block, so heard the door banging shut every time someone went in/out. A slight tweak on the door closer is all that is needed to fix it though.

A clean site in a beautiful location.
Owner helpful but not obtrusive.
The toilet block and showers were spotless.
EHU pitches are situated around the road that winds around the site. This does not deter from the location. Only gripe ( if it is a gripe ) is that on a couple of wet mornings the pot holes in this road filled with water and any passing cars proceeded to splash the water in the direction of the tent! All it needs is for the owners to back fill the holes and all will be well.
Dolgellau is a lovely little town with a smashing bakery selling chicken tikka and lamb & onion pasties amongst other delicious items! Handy hardware store in the Town which sells canisters of gas and citronella candles ( there were a few midgies about and we were bitten quite a bit ). Town also has a Somerfield and Co-Op.
Enjoyed a trip to King Arthur's Labyrinth which is approximately 15 miles from the site. Good fun for the kids but wrap up warm as it is cold in those caves! We fortunately had beautiful weather and were able to relax outside with a coffee whilst the kids played on the park there. Lots of little shops ( crafts, glass, candles etc )so well worth a visit even if the weather isn't so good. It cost us £24.00 for two adults and two kids.
We will be visiting this camp site again.

Lovely site. Immaculate toilet/shower block. Good to see people following Caravan Club rule of mopping up after yourself! Only stayed 1 night as I'd moved from a poor one so just turned up. Unfortunately it rained, but no problems with drainage etc on the grass. Prices reasonable but always resent being charged for my 2 dogs in my own motorhome! At least the charge was per person and not based on 2 adults, which is annoying as I travel alone and never get a discount.
Would go again.

I visited this place on my Quad and stayed in the Bunkhouse beside the caravan and tent field. The staff are very friendly and the facilities were very clean and quite modern. Town is only a short taxi ride away and the taxi driver appeared to do a constant service to and from town. All the local pubs a friendly and inviting with varied selection of place to eat out if that is what you want.
We had breakfast in the B&B, it was really good value and sets you up for the day. All in all a great site. We will be back later in the year.

What a lovely spot. We pitched our tents on the hill field , which gives the kids loads of room to run and have fun. Although we have 2 tents , one for us and one for the kids, they still only charged us £20 a night. £7 for adults and £3 for kids.( May 2009 ).
The toilets are very clean and the dryers and freezers are great. They have a powerful jet wash for the bikes. There are large oak trees and a nature pond full of tadpoles at the moment.
They also do fire kits for just £3.50. Its great to sit around an open camp fire. But not when everyone has one on Saturday nights.
