Stayed on this site for one night at the end of my trip on the NC500.
The owners was incredibly helpful and gave me a full overview of the facilities and site when I arrived.
The toilet block and shower were very clean and there was a really useful kitchen area that also had a washing machine and microwave. I think there is a newer shower block up the site although I didn't use it.
The location is superb looking right across a loch with great views towards Inverness. Plenty of dolphins and seals in the area and I also found myself watching the planes flying in to Inverness airport across the loch.
I'd definitely recommend the site, it's a great base to explore the Black Isle.

Lovely site, perfect location right on the beach of Moray Firth.
Village was 10 minutes walk and had Coop so we could get supplies. There is a little pub but we didn't go in there.
Main reason for choosing this site is that its close to Chanonry Point where the dolphins and seals can be seen. It's about half a mile along the side of a golf course and we chose to go about 11am but the dolphins had been seen at various times during the day.
We were told when the tide turns is when they come in for the salmon. We were not disappointed, they appeared along with the seals and were jumping out of the water, so great photo opportunity if you have a decent camera.
My husband used their toilets and showers and said they were clean as they were cleaned regularly. All in all lovely site.

Fabulous site right by the beach. Flat grass pitches ideal for tents and a toilet/shower block with kitchen round the back with everything you could need - hot water, washer & dryer, kettle and microwave plus loads of local info and even a little nature hunt on the site for the kids.
The road cuts through the middle of the site but it's so quiet it didn't matter at all.
A delightful fifteen minute walk along the coastal golf course takes you to the point to look out for the dolphins, and the owner was helpful and friendly and told us about plenty of other things to find beyond that in Rosemarkie. Beautiful sandy beach, rockpools, a beach cafe and even a cave further along round the coast, not to mention an excellent local play park that we wouldn't have known about from just looking at the map!
Couldn't have been happier with our pitch for the night. Brilliant price/value for money too!

Just spent 5 nights at Fortrose Caravan Site. The weather was great and the site first class.
The Pitch was great, one of the best on site, therefore not saying which as I will be looking for it on my return visit.
The site is well managed and owner very pleasant and helpful. The site was extremely busy which proves its popularity.

Delightful site right on the shore by the small but historic town of Fortrose. Excellent views across the Moray Firth with the added bonus of the UK’s best dolphin viewing point within 10 minutes walk.
Rachel the site manager could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the new shower facilities next to the reception block are a welcome addition to the older, but clean and functional older block at the far end of the site.
The site is an excellent base for touring the area both to the north and south of Inverness. Culloden and Nairn are within easy reach to the south, and Cromarty, Glenmorangie and Dornoch to the north. Highly recommended, and will visit again.

Great site by the sea, with spectacular sunsets. Can Walk 1/2 mile to the point and see dolphins and seals. Plenty of walks from site. Pub 3/4 mile from site with very good beer.
All pitches are on grass and just about wide enough if you have a slightly larger unit. The road runs through the site but that wan not an issue at all and we never had any noise. We walked to Rosemarie where the CCC site is. Although it also has good views, this was the better of the two and half of the price!
Toilets and shower dated but functional and free hot water.
We would definitely return

Quiet, wonderful views sunshine and dolphins. What more should I say. We stayed 9 nights and lived every minute. Rachael and Mike are fab owners attentive but unobtrusive.
The toilets were lovely and clean and the new shower shack was fab.
We will definitely come back her as it is one of the nicest parts of the country we have visited.
We recommend a visit, you won't regret it xx.

We booked for 2 nights and stayed 5. Lovely relaxed site with no silly rules.
2 unisex showers, but no need to worry as this works well. Older toilet blocks with 1 oldish shower in them - but all very clean.
5 min walk to shops, good walk to Chanonry Point and round to Rosemarkie's beach. Good swimming there for our dogs, and nice beachside cafe where you can sit outside with them.
Our 2nd visit to Forrose Bay Campsite, and it won't be our last.

What a fantastic site this is, directly on the shore of the Moray Firth with lovely views in all directions, and an easy 10 min walk into the centre of Fortrose with Pubs, Butchers, Bakers, Co-op etc.
Don't let the fact there is a public road running through the site put you off, it is extremely quiet, (there is much more traffic on the one running through the Caravan & Camping site at Rosemarkie).
The pitches are mainly grass, but very firm and well drained, you have a choice between more sheltered ones behind reception, still right on the shore with lovely views, or the much more open areas all along the front of the shore, all with hook ups.
There are 2 toilet blocks, one each end of the site, both with one shower for each sex which are spotlessly clean, but for the luxury experience use the new unisex 'Shower Shack' beside reception, a heated building containing 2 shower rooms with large glass shower enclosures, electric showers with variable heat settings, (no buttons to press or timers) a large dressing area with a lovely wooden stool and lots of hooks for clothes and towels.
A 20 minute level walk along the shore by the golf course takes you to Chanonry Point, the best place to see the Dolphins, which usually make an appearance at low tide, we even saw some from our pitch. Rosemarkie and the Fairy Glen are also both within walking distance.
In the evening you can see the fishing boats out on the Firth. This was by far our favourite site on our round the coast Scottish tour, the lovely owners have got the balance just right, friendly and helpful but never in your face and this makes for a great relaxing site.

Been to this site couple of times. Changed ownership last year and has had a upgrade. Toilet blocks upgraded. New shower block. Very friendly wardens. Spectacular views.
£20 a night dogs free. (the Caravan and camping club is £30 a night). Used to be free WiFi. Now it's £2. 50 a day. Go into plough pub in Rosemarkie. It's free and fast.
TV signal ok. O2 Mobil is ok too.
The dolphins at Channory point is good viewing. The carpark has been reconfigured. Think there's less space now. But in peak times free park and ride bus to Fortrose. You can walk to Channory point from Fortrose campsite 30 mins along coast.
Would definitely return again. Good site price.
