Everything good previously I can vouch for. I have camped up the road at the CCC site for the past near on thirty years. But will in future be booking this site the welcome is a lot warmer and the the pitches not as worn out. The other point is this site is not regimental as the other. Facilities were very clean but old.
Will recommend this site to anybody and wish the new owners all the best, looking forward to returning.

We returned here again, after discovering it last September. The site has been taken over since last year. The new owners are very friendly and very keen. The site is very good. All pitches overlook the Moray Firth. The site is suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Chanonry point is less than five minutes drive away, or fifteen minutes walk, here you can see great views of the famous bottlenose dolphins. The facilities are excellent. Clean toilets and showers, clean and well equipped washing up room. I would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone.

Just back from a 3 day stay here.
Lovely relaxed site, we were able to chose our own pitch with electric hookup, overlooking the Firth, from which we spotted an otter one night. We also saw a dolphin with her calf.
We used the showers in the unisex shower shack, was a bit apprehensive at the thought, but no need - this setup works well, modern electric showers with good water pressure, also very clean, as was the older style Ladies Toilets.
The site is a short walk into town where it was good to see a nice selection of local shops still in business, and the Co-operative Supermarket had a good selection of supplies. We also had brunch in the garden of the local cafe, which welcomed dogs.
Be careful not to miss the sign for the site, from the main street in Fortrose, the road down is fairly narrow, but there were large caravans and motorhomes that traversed it without problem.
All in all we enjoyed our stay, and will certainly return.

Stayed here for two nights on a round trip of Scotland.
Lovely site with spacious pitches right on the beach edge.
Showers and toilets were very good.
The site was quiet, yet just a few minutes walk into Fortrose. There is a nice walk down the edge of the beach to Chanonary Point which is perfect for Dolphin spotting. We saw dolphins from both the point and they also swam up past the campsite.
Can highly recommend and would definitely use sgain.
It was also very good value for money.

Fabulous loction, camped right at the edge of the beach with stunning views over the Moray Firth. Level pitch but you will need your rock pegs for this site.
Campfires on the pebble beach if you wish.
Very quiet and serene through the week except for the cars using the road through the site (possibly more noticable because otherweise so peaceful). At the weekend the other campers will drown out any road noise.
Fridge/freezer and microwave available in pot washing area.
Family sized shower rooms but they are sited at the opposite end of the campsite from where they ask you to pitch if you have kids. I had a 3 year old and a baby with me and the logistics of using these were impossible for us.
Would stay here again.

First actual stay at this site although I live relatively nearby and frequently visit the area.
I chose this site based on its idyllic location, size of pitch and value for money.
The site is under new ownership and proved to be an excellent place to stay.
Each pitch is spacious with terrific waterside views with easy access to the beach.
Chanonry Point is about a mile away on a lovely walk to the side of the golf course along the seafront. This is an ideal dog walk and can be extended further along the beach into Rosemarkie.
The site is quiet, facilities including showers and kitchen are great and represents excellent value.
The site is well maintained and has obviously been updated by the new owners.
Overall a terrifically quiet place either for a brief stay or as an ideal base to explore the Highlands with relaxing evenings being spent watching for the Dolphins.
I shall return here and would advise anyone thinking of visiting to do so as I found it to be the best option in the area.

Stayed here as new reviews suggest the new owners have made great improvements. We weren't disappointed. Great walks in and around Fortrose and Rosemarkie. The beach is great for walking the dogs and perhaps checking out the Dolphins.
Lovely quiet setting, and would come back again.

This our second stay with new owners Rachel and Mike who are incredibly friendly and helpful. They are working really hard and improving their site. The site itself is right on the water with incredible views. Ground is well maintained with good level grass pitches for all. The new shower units are great. There is no play park but who needs one with the beach and so much space to run. This is the first time we have come back to a site since we got our motorhome last year. It is so peaceful. We had used the club site round the point at Rosemarkie before but often felt crammed in on small pitches. Not an issue at Fortrose. Pitch fees are extremely reasonable too. A short walk takes you into the village where you'll find a butcher, baker, Co-op, brilliant fish and chips and the Anderson with a real ale and whisky 'menu' to make you need to stay longer. You can walk to Chanonry Point from this site and then round to the beach cafe in Rosemarkie. We have a black labrador who is made very welcome. So much space for him to walk, run and swim. No need for a designated dog walk! There is so much to see and do without having to leave the site with our motorhome. Don't miss this little slice of paradise.

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend at Fortrose campsite. The campsite has fantastic views across the Moray firth for ALL pitches, and there is access to a pebble beach, which my boys enjoyed skimming stones from. The new owners are a friendly couple (Mike and Rachel) with two dogs, they were incredibly helpful, and the rate was very, very reasonable. The facilities were clean, and the two additional hot showers (FREE) with a good size changing area were great.
We went to see the dolphins at Chanery point, which is only a short walk from the site, I unfortunately missed them, but I did see an inquisitive seal!
The co op is only a short walk from the site and sells a good range of provisions.
We will definitely stop here again, and we are in the process of booking a return visit. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

It's been a few years since we stayed at this site and it was lovely to be back.
The views are really spectacular, and it is just so peaceful and tranquil.
The site has just been taken over, the couple running it are friendly and helpful. They were able to give us some local recommendations too.
Although the toilet blocks are still the same, they are very clean, and there is a new unisex shower block which is excellent. There are two separate shower rooms - they have large spacious showers and plenty room to change, as a family of young kids, this was great for us!
The site is straight on to a pebble shore, perfect for skimming stones. Our boys loved it.
Fortrose is a lovely village with a lot of small, local businesses, there's a well stocked Co-op and a cash machine available too.
The site is excellent value for money, £20 includes electric and there was no additional charge for our kids or dog.
We'll definitely be back very soon!
