This site is under new management and couldn't be faulted in any way.
The couple that run it are just so friendly and helpful and nothing is a problem.
It is so clean and tidy and well maintained.
Local area has lots to see and do and good selection of shops, pubs, butcher, cafe, chip shop and restaurant.
Short walk to Chanonry point to see dolphins from the beach, short walk to Rosemarkie with a lovely sandy beach, cafe, shop, restaurant and pub.

We have just spent 5 nights at this site - we moved from Rosemarkie so we could have a 'sea front' pitch & use our canopy. Rachel welcomed us, provided a free map of the Black Isle & explained the locations of the necessary facilities on the site.
Stunning views - pleasant mile walk to Chanonry point where we did see the dolphins as well as a variety of sea & shore birds.
Dolphins & otters were also visible at times from the caravan.
Facilities are old but very clean although there are not many showers for the size of the site.
Looking forward to a return visit next year.

Booked this site for 3 nights and was bowled over with stunning location so stayed for 5, right on the front, short walk to lighthouse to see the dolphins they did not disappoint back to site, has just had new owners who are doing all the right things facilities are old but well maintained all ways clean an earlier poster states no MH point there is it, s along side second gents toilets so no problems for MH, s the CCC along the road at Rosemarkie will have to improve in both price and their welcome to guest, s or lose out to Fortrose
PS campers kitchen has sinks, microwave, washing machine, dryer and ironing board

We spent three nights here at the start of our highlands tour. Very friendly welcome and we were given a map of the Black Isle and information about the area. It's a short walk to Chanonry Point where you will see dolphins on the turn of the tide. We saw seals from the site.
10 minute walk up to the village where there are a couple of pubs, a restaurant and fish and chip shop. Reasonable sized co-op and butcher and baker.
Facilities were clean and free showers.
The only downside to this site is that there is a road going straight through the camping area. It's not a very busy road and most cars go slowly but I would be a bit concerned if camping with small children.

We arrived at the C&CC site to be told they were full for the weekend and they suggested we try Fortrose Bay site.
We did, they fitted us in but they too were full by 3pm on the Friday afternoon.
The site is set out on a long strip of grass along the shore, some tent pitches on the side of the road furtherest from the sea, the rest on the sea side.
Pitches were defined by marker posts, there seemed to be a fair bit of confusion as to whether units should be parked in the middle of the markers or to one side (the details pinned outside reception showed to park with the driver side to the post but to be fair many wouldn't have read that).
The loos and showers were old but have to say have found very few places where they are kept cleaner - spotless in the ladies by reception at all times. The shower in there was good and hot, decent pressure and not on a push button.
There is a water fill for motorhomes at the endof the first pitch section, no drive over empty point but several grey water dumps. Chem disp at the rear of the facilities block and ehu on all pitches.
Wifi is available for £2. 50 per 24 hours, pay direct on line not to the site.
The village of Fortrose is less than 10 minutes easy walk, a butchers, two bakers, a couple of cafes and a small supermarket. We loved the Fortorse Cafe, great scones, super friendly staff and good coffee.
There is bound to be comparisons between the Rosemarkie and Fortrose sites, we found them very similar in terms of both have a great location, old but immaculate facilities and fab owners / wardens.

This site is in a lovely location and we found it to be relaxing, welcoming and well maintained.
Overlooking the Moray Firth, with easy access from Inverness it is a great base for exploring the Black Isle which we did on our bikes - the roads were quiet, views beautiful and hills challenging. The small town is an easy walk away and there are some shops, cafes and a hotel/bar serving food.
From checking in we were made to feel very welcome, encouraged to choose our own pitch, which was very quiet and given information and leaflets about the area.
Although the small toilet/shower block at reception was not modern, it was well maintained and clean and the new unisex shower block is very spacious and well designed.
Would highly recommend, and would definitely return.

As with at least one previous reviewer we had always stayed at the nearby Rosemarkie CCC site. This year, however, we had a few problems with their running of the site so we resolved to try Fortrose Bay. Suffice it to say that it is highly unlikely we will ever stay anywhere else on the Black Isle from now on. Mike and Rachel are extremely friendly and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. The site is peaceful, clean and tidy; the views across the Moray Firth are superb and we can only think of it as our 'little piece of heaven'.

We love this site. We must do as we have just returned from our 8th or 9th visit in as many years.
Under new ownership, we'll look forward to seeing the changes that will be undertaken. But also hope that it basically stays as it is, a lovely unspoiled site that has steered away from all singing all dancing facilities. There is no play park for children. But you have a great pebble beach, where both our children [now teenage] spend hours. The position, views and wildlife are what help make this site one our absolute favorites.
The facilities are still spotless, even though the site was full and the weather not that great.
Fortrose has a co-op, bakery, fish and chip shop, cafe, restaurant and beautiful jewellery shop.
For wildlife head up to Chanory and hopefully you'll get to see famous dolphins, if you time it for after low tide [when it is on the turn]. You'll be in great company with a good crowd all there cameras poised.
There is a fantastic walk up past Eathie mains down a steep but proper track that leads to a beach where when the tide is out, you can fossil hunt [head right when you reach the bottom and head round the headland a bit].
There is so much to see and do in the area, but you can also get across to the west coast, so a day trip to Applecross up and over the Bealach na Ba is a must for us for lunch at The Applecross inn.
Even storms don't stop us coming to this site [and we've weathered a couple here now]. We will return again next year.

Lovely find of a site and much better value than the one on the other side of the peninsula.
10 min walk up to the light house to watch the dolphins
Lots of Pitches had a sea view and mostly taken up with caravans. ( now own a caravan so will be back to try these out)
Toilets and showers are split in two with only one washing up place in the far block from reception.

This is a lovely site in a great position next to a pebble beach. We are in the middle of a 12 night stay here and it is so relaxing and peaceful, as I sit writing this a seal has just swam past the caravan towards chanonry point which is a 20 minute walk away and where we spent a good hour this morning watching the Dolphins, having seen them on 4 out of 5 days so far. We have good views down to Inverness which is about 14 miles away and it is 30 to 40 minute drive to Loch Ness. The site has two toilet blocks and though the block closest to us has just one male and one female shower they seem to cope well even when the site is busy. The new owners are friendly and helpful and we will return if we venture this far north again!
