I have been going to this site for a number of years. The views are breath -taking over the bay.
The site is quite open, so remember to peg down well. The owners keep the grass nice and short, even though the facilities are basic they are kept spotlessly clean.
It is a short walk down to the harbour, where there is always something going on, and it will take you about 15mins to walk into St Davids.
All in all it is good value for money if you like a quiet campsite to just sit and relax and look at the view.

This is a great campsite with truly stunning views and direct access to the Pembrokeshire coastal path. It overlooks the picturesque Porthclais harbour and St Bride's Bay and is a 25 minute walk to St David's via a footpath direct from the site.
It consists of up to six spacious fields, dependent on the season. During half-term week the two toilet and shower blocks were adequate in number and some of the cleanest and best showers I've experienced on a campsite.
There is a small shop selling essentials such as milk and bread. The overall impression is of a spacious, tidy and well managed site, with wonderful, breathtaking views.
If it is an area of outstanding beauty, tons of wildlife and minimal impact from tourism you are looking for, the surrounding area will not disappoint.
I will definitely be returning.

We loved this site a lot, the location is especially magical being on the Pembroke coastal path with views along the coast, across the bay and out to the bird islands. We saw chough within yards of the site.
It is also right next to the ancient harbour of Portclais and there is also a ancient bridleway/footpath to St Davids that avoids having to walk back from the pubs on the road.
St Davids is really amazing if you like history, both the cathedral and the Bishop's Palace are each worth half-a-day. For others there is coasteering and bird-watching.
The site is run effectively and charmingly without a single computer in sight! The toilets were really clean and there was lots of space.
The single downside is that being on the cliff-top the site is in a draughty spot so tent-pitching skills could be tested but there are old hedges within and around the site which will give some shelter from most directions.
We are looking forward to staying again.

My fiance and I stayed here over the August Bank Holiday weekend and we loved it!
Although the site was busy we sussed out the quieter times to wash up/shower and so tended to avoid the queues (bearing in mind it's a busy weekend anyway- this is to be expected anywhere).
The city of St. David's is a short walk away- either by road or through the fields, as is the quaint little Porthclais harbour- a quality crabbing spot too.
The staff on site were really pleasant and friendly and the 'shop' that turns up AM/PM is a brilliant idea.
When reading other people's reviews the one thing that is constantly referred to is the windiness of the site. I agree- it is blowy at times but the staff explain very clearly the better areas to pitch if you wish to avoid (some of) this. As we turned up late they were even happy for us to pitch the tent and then move it the next morning if we found a more suitable spot- very nice of them.
Highly recommended by us.

Before going to Porthclais I had been worried about the wind and how well our tent would hold up. I got some storm pegs and added a few extra guy ropes to the top of the domed living area and pitched behind a hedge where we still had amazing sea views. Our tent was fine in the 30mph gusts.
The campsite is huge so, although it was busy, it didn't feel crowded at all. We had loads of space around the tent and in our field. The owners now have portacabin toilets and showers. There are plenty of toilets and I was able to shower without queuing before 8am. There were queues for the showers and for the washing up sinks at peak times, though.
Overall we spent 6 nights at this campsite and had a lovely holiday. I'm really pleased that I didn't let the reviews about the wind put me off going. I'm also really pleased that I took some extra precautions to cope with the windy conditions. I would recommend this campsite as it's within easy walking distance of St David's, it's right next to Porthclais harbour and the views are amazing from virtually everywhere on the site.

A quick message to say thanks once again for a wonderful 2 weeks at your campsite - we had some of the best weather we have ever had at St. Davids! Your site is perfect for everything we do and as always so well kept - clean showers and toilets, litter free and plenty of fields to choose where to pitch. The ease of which you can get on to the coastal path which also takes you down to the harbour is great and a lovely way to explore the surrounding area. We loved the addition of the shop this year too - open in the morning and early evening selling all the usual essentials. Will definitely see you again this time next year.

We stayed here for four nights in August, and we loved it.
This campsite was in the perfect location for us, we had spotted it when we were at another campsite in the area the year before. It’s a short walk to the city of St. David’s and just on the other side of the campsite is the stunning Porthclais harbour.
Booking was easy, and Thelma was great throughout the whole experience.
The facilities were brilliant, there were two sets of showers, a block where the showers were on a meter, and a porta cabin where the showers were free, I never had to queue and they were always spotlessly clean, as was the washing up area.
As this campsite is on top of a cliff over looking the wonderful sea view it can obviously be windy so be prepared!
I am looking forward to going back soon, over all a great campsite with really good value for money.

We have just returned from 4 nights from Porthclais and would fully recommend the site. The location is beautiful with the coastal path bordering the site and giving the access to breathtaking scenery and 2 fantastic beaches.
Staff were helpful and the shop that opens morning and afternoon is helpful for basic provisions. The toilets and showers were fine and cleaned regularly.
The pitches are very spacious with over 4 fields to choose from, there was plenty of space between all of the tents despite out visit being over a very busy weekend.
St Davids city centre is 5 minute car journey or 30 minute walk (with a 4 year old) and is well worth a visit. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Second visit to this site under the 'new' owners. This is a wonderful location, breathtaking views, coastal path only moments away and a totally unspoilt site. Very quiet and campers happy to help each other in the wind which never goes away so choose your pitch for shelter.
Seems to attract like-minded people, very chilled out, quiet and generally seasoned campers not looking for lots of extras.
Everything you need in St David's which has more to offer every year and becoming a bit of a foodie destination.
Shop on site is great, campers treats (croissants, bacon, milk etc) at 8.30am and 5.30pm.
However the much-promised new facilities in the portacabins are pretty basic and in spite of the cleaner's best efforts still inadequate for a 20 acre site. Don't want the Ritz, just a fair proportion of loos and showers to number of campers.

Visited Porthclais Farm campsite last week with 6 children (4 x 10 years and 2 x 14 years) for 3 nights. We had a great time. The harbour was a constant source of entertainment (crabbing) and we also did body boarding at Caerfai Bay (about 2 miles along the coast path to the east) and at Newgale Beach for the bigger waves the following day. The constant wind also made kiting a good source of entertainment.
The facilities were good, especially the showers and the 'shop' very handy for those items that had been forgotten.
We didn't much in the way of organised activities however on our next visit I can see a call for coasteering and kayaking.
In summary a great campsite if you want to let the kids have a bit a a free reign.
