Great sea views and superbly located for accessing the coastal path - the scenery along the path is simply awesome. During our visit the site was quiet therefore there was plenty of room on both fields. Toilet/shower block was kept clean. There is an additional toilet/shower building providing EXTRA facilities: 7 toilets, 6 wash basins, 3 free hot showers for ladies; 3 free hot showers for men. The site is within walking distance of St Davids, approx 15 - 20 minute walk. I would highly recommend Porhclais Farm for those who are looking for a peaceful site in a stunning coastal location.

Just got back from this wonderful site and don't really want to say too many good things about it in case I can't get a pitch next time! ;-)
It's all good - a proper old fashioned site with the most amazing views!
The lady that runs the place is great - leaves you to it, but also leaves her number in case you ever need her. We never needed to ring her but she assured us we could at any time.
We did leave her little notes at the office on occasion, and she always got back to us re whatever we needed (ice packs, phones back from charging etc).
The facilites were always spotless with loads of loo roll, and the free showers were lovely and hot! (I didn't try the 20p showers because I never needed to.)
It is a windy spot, but you wouldn't get those views in a more sheltered place.
Access to the coastal path is unbeatable!
The Farmers Arms in St Davids is a short walk away, and is very dog friendly. Being the only pub in St Davids it does get busy, so if you want a table inside then go early (or late). There's a big beer garden tho with plenty more tables. The food was always very good, and the portions very large!
We had the place virtually to ourselves - or that's how it felt it's such a large site - in mid May.
It really is a lovely site - I just wished there was a beach within closer walking distance, then I would have been in heaven!

My fiance and I stayed at this in mid-October and had a thoroughly enjoyable week! The owners were friendly and helped us get the most out of our time there by recommending local walks and things to do (the walk round St David's head to Whitesands beach was especially beautiful).
The owners said that they had recently taken over the site and were going to be building more permanent toilet/shower facilities as soon as possible, but in the meantime the portaloos/showers were more than adequate - plenty of hot water, very clean and well presented.
It was a nice stroll to the small city of St Davids where we found some nice pubs and restaurants (Morgan's Brasserie was particularly good). We will definitely be coming back next year!

After reading the previous reviews of the site, I would like to point out there are now additional luxurious toilet and shower facilities provided. There are 7 extra ladies toilets, 6 extra ladies washbasins, 3 extra ladies hot showers and 3 extra hot showers for the men. All these extra hot showers are free.

Site has spectacular views straight off the cliff top and has a quaint little harbour just a couple of minutes walk away. The coastal path runs right along the cliff tops in front of the site so its easy access to some comfortable walking which was a much better way into St Davids than by road.
Reasonable rates and friendly owners. We will see you again, and thanks for a lovely week.

Just came back from five wonderful nights at this excellent, friendly campsite. As it was our first proper outing I was a bit apprehensive as we've only ever stayed overnight at local sites.
Toilets are clean but could do with more, people have said that you have to pay for a shower but there are two porta showers there now and those were free.
Lovely views and scenery and St Davids is a lovely little city. It's a long drive from Birmingham but well worth it, will definitely be going again.
Have now been bitten by the camping bug completely and can't wait to get out again soon!

We have just returned from a touring holiday in Wales. The first site we visited was Porthclais Farm. The views from this large site are stunning. The access on to the coastal path is very good as the site is right next to it. There is a footpath to St David's from the site which avoids the sometimes busy road which has no pavement!
The site was quite busy and on Friday night another field was open to allow more campers on to the site. This meant that there were four large fields open. The toilet block and dish washing facilities are located in the first camping field - two showers and three ladies' toilets plus the same for men. The showers requiring twenty pence. There is just one sink for washing up.
Owner's comments: Please note that a new facility block has been opened for 2008, adding extra free showers, toilets, wash basins and washing up sinks - see our website for details.
The owners have recently taken over the site and hope to improve the facilities. There is plenty of space where children can play but we did not see any play facilities. St David's has lots of pubs and cafes. The site was a good base to visit the surrounding area of Pembrokeshire.

The setting of this site is spectacular. It is on the cliff top near St. David's and there are amazing views along the coast. The site is adjacent to the coastal path and just a few minutes walk from Porthclais Harbour. There is a footpath (slightly overgrown in places) from the site into St. David's and the walk into the city takes about 20 minutes. There are many cafes and restaurants in St. David's. We had a great meal in The Refectory in the cathedral. The site is comprised of 5 fields. When we stayed in early August there the site was very busy. There is just one toilet block which comprises 2 ladies showers and 3 toilets and 2 men's toilets and two showers. There is just one outside sink for dish-washing.
Owner's comments: Please note that a new facility block has been opened for 2008, adding extra free showers, toilets, wash basins and washing up sinks - see our website for details.

An excellent friendly site with spectacular views of the coast, within easy reach of St. David's along the coastal path. The new owners(who were extremely friendly), have plans to upgrade and add extra facilities which are sorely needed, as the current facilities struggled to cope with the amount of people on site during peak season. Would definitely visit again and look forward to seeing the improvements made by next year.

Excellent little campsite next to the Pembrokeshire coastal footpath, and also a short walk from St. David's, which is worth visiting. Do not be put off by other comments regarding the basic facilities. The campsite and the facilities were kept clean, and for £6 a night it is very good value. I was also told that there are plans underway to refurbish the site. Overall, a peaceful campsite with superb views, and a good base location for walking along the coast, visiting other attractions in the area, and generally chilling out. I definitely will be planning to return to this campsite.
