Was here in May and now June. Better weather. Campsite was not too busy so had hook-up again for a tent. Really love this location. £7 a day to enter Dalby Forest in a vehicle with the walks/cycling/BBQ etc, but buy a £42 annual ticket and go back anytime of the year. Campsite still a great location. Dog loves it too. Wendy and Jim always seem to be working nearby.
Please though another washing up sink.
This location is ideal for active campers (Dalby) and loungers, sunny south facing.

Stayed after the Bank holiday weekend for a week on our 2nd visit in the last 12 months. Enjoyed the stay, the site, the prices and its location. Its busy at weekends and holidays first thing in the morning and teatime/early evening due to its location to the Dolby Forest and everyone going and coming back, so you may have to wait for a shower or a toilet at these times, but we wouldn't want to pay more so we can just walk in to a shower when its busy, we plan around busy times or wait our turn. The hot water does run out at busy times which does need resolving because if it happens when your mid way through a shower its freezing, if this was sorted it would make this an even better place. Will be back for a weeks holiday next year and more activity in the forest and North York Moors if we cant get back sooner.

First time at this site, would definitely return again. Toilet block and showers were kept clean with plenty of hot water. Washing up facility had only one sink, could possibly do with another one.
My wife mentioned that there could have been a hairdryer in the ladies toilet area for those who do not have electric hook up.
The field without electric hook up was flat with only a minimum amount of slope, this drained really well after a heavy night of rain.
This is one site we will return to.

Have been here before and the facilities are still as clean as before. They are great hosts. Weather was not kind for the midweek part. Arrived Sunday night left Friday morning. Ideal for tents a flat or with a very slight slope. Hookups available suggest you book to get a pitch in summer. We even got to feed young lambs.
Dalby forest is great for walks/off road cycling and have BBQ areas. £7 per car though entrance. Steep 1 in 16 hill to negotiate if walking or cycling back.
Possibly one con was only 1 washing up sink. No problems with hot water. Dogs allowed best on a lead or fixed line. Will be going back.

Very friendly reception at this family run site. We stayed for two nights with electric hook up, paying £16 per night. The pitches were spacious, flat and well maintained. The location of the site is fantastic- right at the entrance to Dalby Forest and close to places of interest such as Robin Hoods bay and Whitby.
The facilities were quite basic compared to other sites we have stayed on and were quite chilly at this time of year! However, they were clean and had everything we needed - 2 toilet cubicles and 2 showers in ladies and the same in the mens. The washing up facilities were under cover in an area of a barn, but again chilly! However, clean and loads of unlimited hot water which was great.
No ball games were allowed and there was no play area on the site which may be a problem for families with younger children or who are staying for longer.
As the site was relatively empty with none of the non electric hook up pitches in use, we did have a fantastic view from our pitch.

What a fantastic site!
Really welcoming! Clean and tidy, well kitted! Hit water and never a need to queue. Well priced and location is great for Dalby forest. The visitors centre is 10 minutes max by bike. Whitby and Scarborough are also close by so plenty to see and do. The site is really quiet at night and the owners were really pleasant and welcoming. I was really impressed.
Will definitely be going again!

Second stay here, very friendly, quite family site, flat allocated pitches, as others have stated limited loos, showers and sinks but very clean with mops and squeegees provided too, I never had to wait, shower early!
Located by the entrance to Dalby forest, so bike in and save £7, this makes the £12 per night fee extremely reasonable.
Very isolated, no pubs, clubs, restaurants close by, perfect!
Already planing my next visit!

Loved staying at Pexton moor farm, the ground was very flat,
I know there is only 3 ladies toilets and 2 showers including disabled but for what we paid £12 per night, it's a very small price to pay.
The views were fantastic, I'm not keen on noisy kids so having the rule of no ball games near the tents was brilliant.
Thornton le dale is just down the road, which has a chip shop, pub and a few cute shops. Certainly going to stay there again.

As a camping novice, this was a daunting experience to look forward to. However, with the right advice from friends, some good quality second hand gear, we arrived at Pexton Moor Farm and were immediately made at ease by the welcome from the host Wendy.
The site was immaculately clean, the grass had been neatly cut and the pitch for my tent was huge catering for my car and tent comfortably. A hook up was made available and the site explained to us.
The wash facilities for pots and cutlery was clean and accessible with boiling hot water and the toilet block, with showers was exceptionally clean. We had no problems with hot water as outlined by a previous reviewer and we never heard anyone else complain.
Wendy ran the site with a hands-on involvement style and everyone respected the simple rules and respect for others was observed very well.
A great location, flat site and pleasant views next to the forest made this a great site for the long weekend. No criticisms from this camper. Recommended.

Very friendly welcome. Beautiful site and surroundings. Clean toilet block with two showers and disabled toilet. Pot washing facilities and information leaflets. Big field to the rear for ball games and kids to run around.
Lovely views.
Only a mile to thorton le dale which has a local shop and a gift/hardware shop. Chip shop and takeaway where good value for money. Two miles away is pickering which has a market place with charity shops, cooplands and yorkshire trading company.
There are plenty of activities in dalby forest. From bike hire to go ape.
The campsite itself is lovely and quiet.
I would highly recommend it friends and family.
Would have benefited from a children's play area.
Will definitely be returning.
