We were on the non-electric hook up field & arrived on a Saturday afternoon. Although on arrival the site stated it was full, there was adequate room without being pitched close by to another tent.
The toilet blocks were a couple of minutes walk - these were very clean at all times of the day that I visited (a big thing on my list)! Showers were hot and although there were only 3 in the ladies side, I did not have to wait.
A well stocked shop including frozen items, chilled wines & snacks etc is on site along with a mobile fish & chip van that visits every Saturday night which is worth trying.
The only down side to this site is that if you wanted a bar meal you need to drive to the nearest village. 8 miles to Scarborough & Filey, well worth a visit.

Just returned from this site, we were there for a week with 3 adults 5 children and 3 dogs! lovely clean site but with absolutely nothing for the kids to do
On the plus side it is a quiet site with some lovely dog walking around. We had friends meet up with us on the site for a couple of nights but because of the strictly 11pm all quiet rule we got told off for been noisy
The cayley arms serves lovely meals

Nice quiet secluded site. Warden and wife very helpful and friendly. Toilet block always spotless. Showers always hot and clean. Great facilities ie shop, laundry, place for washing dishes. Excellent size pitches for tents.
Great open field with football nets for kids, keeping them away from other holidaymakers. Loads of great attractions nearby ie Eden Camp, Heartbeat village, Scarborough, Bridlington the list is endless.
Would recommend this site to anyone. Had a fantastic week

What a beautiful, quiet site. The waradens are great, nothing too much trouble for them. We hired a static at the last minute, the van was lovely, very clean, had everything you would expect, very comfortable.
Had a meal one night in the Caylay Arms in Brompton, highly recommended, as is Glaves Butchers also in Brompton. Kids went hacking at the local riding stables, very friendly staff and well behaved ponies. Would definitely visit again either with our tent or hiring a static.

I really loved this site, it was clean and the wardens Anna and hubby were very helpful and friendly. The pitches are spacious and the site had everything we needed. Found a cracking butchers shop in the next village and a nice pub to eat in, both recommended by Anna and hubby! The site was in easy distance of Pickering and Whitby and Scarborough. Dalby Forest was a lovely place to visit. Also if you like walking lots of coastal and Yorkshire Moor paths with wonderful views. All in all a great holiday and a great campsite!

We visited the site at Easter in a tent with EHU and although it was rather chilly we had a great time.
The online booking in facility is great we had no problems with it. The site has shower and toilet block with laundry room and pot wash and a reception/small shop. There's also a small information shed with maps and tourist leaflets and take away menus.
There was a fish and chip van that visited on the saturday night which I thought was a nice touch. The cleanliness and tidiness of this site was the best we've seen whilst camping there was many a time I would go to use the facilities and find the lady in there cleaning and feel really bad for muddying back up her floor.
The site wardens were fantastic and they were always about if you had a question or needed some assistance. The only down side I could see is there wasn't a play park for the children although from reading these reviews I found out there is a football field which we never found on our visit.
We visited scarborough and bridlington and a few other small places in between during our stay and the site is well placed for this area.
This is a great site and I imagine it getting very busy in the summer months. Hopefully next year we will be back.

Excellent campsite. Contrary to other reviews you do not have to pay for hot water when washing pots etc. The pitches are a really good size our 10 man tent fitted with space to spare.
If you are looking for a campsite in the scarborough area this is ideal just 20 mins from scarborough and 30 minutes from York it really is ideal. The couple that run it are really friendly and helpful anything that you need they are more than happy to help. I will definitely be returning. Well worth the money & facilities are really good.

This is a lovely little site. We got booked on even though it was a last minute decision to go. It was easy to book online. When we arrived the wardens were very nice and very helpful. We had forgotten our groundsheet and they very kindly lent us a groundsheet for our stay.
Toilets were nice and clean. The shop was good for your basics. We had two young children (2 and 10), wasn't anything for them to do, but was ok as we only stayed 3 nights. If you want to some peace and quiet this is the site for you. Would definitely return again to this site. The only criticism is that we thought it was a pricey.

We have been to this site many times, this used to be our favourite site. The touring pitches have been reduced in size and are now very small and cramped, we couldn't park our car at the side of our pitch, we had to park in front of our caravan, which wasn't ideal. They've now opened another field for tents and are also pitching tents on the kids play field, which was the only place that children could play before. The toilet block has always been clean, but now is very busy due to the increased number of visitors. It seems to me that it is now more about the quantity rather than quality for campers. Come on space the pitches out more instead of packing everyone in.
Having said that the area where this site is located is very peaceful, with a lane running to the next village of Brompton, which is a great bike ride if you have children (ours have been riding here since they were 3 and 5), not too far and flat all the way. Here there is a small duck pond and farm selling eggs, you have to leave the money in the honesty box. It's like going back in time. If you turn right out of the site you can go on a walk/bike ride up to the cricket field where there is a great play area for kids, this is never busy.

Nice little site, close to Dalby Forest, NY Moors and Scarborough.
Even though the site was full when we stayed, the tent field didn't feel cramped.
Reasonably clean toilet / shower block / dishwashing. Small shop selling the usual basic items.
Very helpful owners, especially when I had a flat car battery and he came to the rescue with jump leads!
Needs a children's play area though.
