Access and Reception good, barriers made for good security (see below)
Pitches very small, our van was overhanging onto the road. Rest of site looked as though it would be cramped in high season. Loos and showers looked new - always clean.
'Guests with Pets' means you'll be furthest away from any amenities, no streetlights, worn out pitches, main road flyover behind you and a mainline railway track to one side. The floor shakes when the trains go past for those who are hard of hearing. Oh - and you'll be paying extra for the privilege. Facts - not opinions
Pools, entertainment complex good, again I can imagine it all getting very overcrowded in high season. Oh - you have to pay extras for the Pool.
Packing up and leaving - you have to be off by 10am. (huge rush to pack up with a family + awning) Otherwise it'll be another £3 charge.
There's no sneaking out either, the barrier cards are time locked.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Home Farm with friends.
Its very easy to get to being just 2 mins drive from M5 J22.
It is a massive site with nearly 900 pitches, choose your pitches carefully in hardstanding especially, as they were all shapes and sizes. Home Farm does have a drainage problem and when it rains heavy it floods (as told by a regular camper). We were lucky with the weather but tyre marks had churned up so much grass making it look a little unslightly :(
Fabulous outdoor play area which the kids loved.
There is a new indoor pool area but it charges £3 per person,it could be a pricey swim for larger families!
Small shop with camping essentials and food basics averagely priced. Tescos Burnham is only a 2 min drive up the road aswell :)
Very large clubhouse it needs to be! plenty of room, we saw a lady double act on the Saturday evening which were great and suitable for old and young alike. There are a few arcadey type games. Dance mats and grabbers etc as you go in.
The 2 toilet blocks were large and kept clean, but with the amount of pitches I can imagine it getting extremely busy during peak school hols times!
There is a takeaway open at peak times on site aswell, Burnham itself has plenty of eating places aswell :)
At the back of campsite there is access onto an unmaned crossing over the trainline! absolutely insane if you ask me! (but its a public footpath I think) between the campsite and the track is only a small sty! the dog owner field is up in this corner and the trains do get a little noisy. If your a trainspotter book now you will love it!
All in all had a great few days and I would possibly return for an out of season break :)

Having been to this site on many occasions I feel compelled after my latest visit to write a review.
The site itself is adequately maintained although the pitches are too close together and does lead to a feeling of 'sardines in a tin'.
The addition of the new indoor pool should add to the appeal although I didn't use it on this visit.
I have visited the entertainment complex many times including New Years Eve and Valentines Eve. This latest visit was on Valentines Eve and the service was so disappointing it spoilt the evening.
I will not be visiting this campsite again, it may be ok if you don't have a problem but don't expect much if you do.

After reading a lot of the reviews on here I did not hope for much on arrival to this site.
Upon pulling into home farm on a cold foggy November evening, I was quite impressed with what I saw a large car park, quite full for the time of year and a new looking building housing reception and shop.
The reception staff were warming and as helpful as you could wish for.
With all the hard standing full I had to opt for a grass pitch, but was told to go look at the pitches before I booked in, due to muddy and wet conditions, as I was already there I just said no that's fine I'll just go on the grass.
We were given a barrier card and told to wait just through the barrier for someone to take us to our pitch, 2 minutes later a young man on a quad bike turned up, who then did his best to find us the best pitch he could.
I will say after getting stuck in the mud and getting pushed off the comments I've read about water logged pitches are true.
In the morning I took a stroll around the park to inspect the site, I did not go much on the male toilets as they were very dark and cold, my partner didn't use the female ones on site so I cant comment on them.
The site was in a very clean state despite the fact that the only place to put your rubbish was in a compacter by the swimming pool building site. Some of the grass pitches were ab it messy but they were in the middle of reseeding some of them so for this I let them off.
On the good side the work on the indoor pool was going well and there were plenty of electric hook up points, but there were lights which sat on top of the points with were great for setting up and seeing where you are going, but bad when trying to sleep as they were rather bright.
I found the shop well stocked with the basic caravan things and basic foods.
There were plenty of fresh water taps but it was quite a walk to empty the toilet, and there park for the kids looked great.
Now for the worse part the noise from the road which for me being a hgv driver did not stop me sleeping but caused problems for my partner, as for the train line this didn't really pose a problem, you could hear them now and then but we were on the other side of the park to the line.
We did have a problem finding the exit on the first night due to signs out of sink with the road and it being pitch black and foggy.
My overall thoughts on this park are that it is not as bad as I expected but I would not rush to go back.
I don't think there is to much for home farm to do to improve the site, a few bins here and there, turning the lights on in the toilets and heat it, there is nothing that this park can do about the road and rail noise unless they put up more fences and hedges but how far do you really go??
Maybe evergreen trees on the road side of the site??

My husband and I have taken our two granddaughters (both girls aged 5yrs and 7yrs) to Home Farm twice this summer. The girls absolutely love it! They made new friends quickly and cannot wait to return next year!
We are new to caravanning but Home Farm compares well against other sites we have visited without the children, in Devon / Cornwall this summer.
We are dog-free and only have a very small 2 berth 'van with awning. We were lucky to have dry weather, so cannot comment as to any flooding problems.
The toilet / shower block was always clean. A big improvement would be one or two washbasins at child height for them to more easily wash their hands. My 5yr old granddaughter was rather heavy to lift up to the sink!
The heated outdoor pool is stunning! even My husband and I took a swim (the water felt warmer than the hotel pool in Gran Canaria in May this year!)
The girls really love the early evening children's entertainment in the club and we have all enjoyed simple, reasonably priced food from the eat in / out selection.
When we were there work was progressing on the new complex and we know that the roof is now on, so hopefully next year there will be an indoor pool to enjoy as well.
There is a Garden / homestyle Centre nearby, which has a cafe for the grown-ups to 'snack and rest' with an amazing lifesized wooden pirate ship for the children to play in/on. A FREE local excursion with the chance to buy a few lovely plants to take home as well!
A nice, level site for wheelchairs or the less agile, Home Farm security is good, the site is well lit and I saw a watchman patrolling on foot in the small hours. Childrens bikes were commonly left outside overnight without fear of loss.
The only criticism / worry we had as grandparents, was the speed of cars driving on site, without regard for the large numbers of children playing.
Perhaps the Campsite owners could consider installation of traffic calming speed humps, especially the 'straight' alongside the pool and play areas.

Nice Site - Easy to reach from Motorway - Bit Nosey - If you are booking this site take a waterproof sheet to use under breathable groundsheet- the pitches soon become waterlogged and very muddy- only criticism is cars speed on site so beware kids. .

I have dated this review August 2006, but we stayed on this park 3 times between 2004 and 2007.
This is a large touring park that packs as many in as possible. Make no mistake that pitches are tight.
The outdoor pool is one of the best we have come across and there is a load on site to keep the kids amused.
Don’t expect peace and quiet as the site is bounded by a very busy main road and the main SW railway line.
Well stocked on site shop and an adequate takeaway. The club is quite good, it is large but prices are inflated.
Shower blocks frequently run out of water.
Handy for Burnham and Weston if that’s your thing.
Security seems a bit OTT at first, but then you are only two or three gear changes from the M5 junction.
I could best describe this site as adequate.

Advertised as Somersets Premiere Touring Site this site does not live up to the claims.
The site is excellenetly sited within half mile of the M5 motorway and for first time caravanners or those who lack confidence in towing it offers a very easy drive to site.
Reception staff are friendly and helpful the main entrance to the site is very attractive and well maintained and inviting. Entrance and exit of the site is barrier controlled and gives a feeling of security and exclusivity. Here I am sad to say the premiere experience ends.
The site is not atrractive and not a place to remain onsite and enjoy, but the site is clean and free from litter however, the pitches are only just large enough to fit your car, caravan and awning. Forget your windbreak as there is no extra room between the next occupants. The site is very, very poorly drained and pools water with ease, prepare fot flooded awnings in any moderate rainfall. The hardstanding pitches are tarmac and very uneven with no thought being given to water run off, hence even if you were to pitch an awning on the hardstanding using rock pegs, chances are you will suffer from water ingress during rain. The grassed aresa are very very uneven and again will suffer from waterpooling.
On the weekend the pitches are refilled with sawdust in order to soak up water and even out the soil, so attempts are made to make the sittuation a little better.
There are two large shower blocks on site which during peak periods are a little small to cope with the size of site but in fairness during mid season they are edequate. Blocks are cleaned several times a day though can be a little slippy under foot so beware. Plenty of hot water and roomy showers though many could do with minor repairs !.
The pool is a bonus feature on site, this is large and very clean (though too cold for me!) but the kids love it. Wide paved area around pool to soak up the sun and relax. At the moment the area next to the pool is a building site though to be fair this is where the owners are in the middle of building an indoor leisure facility.
There is a childrens play area which is well equiped and safe, my only critical observation being the size of play area is probably inadequate for the potential users.
On site there is a fishing 'lake' pond is a far better description and for the amateur or children will provide an evening of fun fishing, however ifyou are in any way serious about fishing don't bother.
The site has plenty of fresh water points, electrical hookups and waste water disposal points. Chemical disposal is onavailable at the two shower blocks so you may have a bit of a treck to empty these units. Rubbish disposal is only available at one point and again this may be some walk from where you pitch.
On site there is a shop selling general provisions and spares, the prices are very reasonable. Within very easy reach by car are Tesco, Asda Somerfield, Lidl etc so provisions are cheap and plentiful.
On our visit despite the advertised lunch menus and take-away signs the club house remained closed until the evening even the mini arcade remained closed so despite the brochure claims do not expect any entertainment for children or otherwise, or any on site catering during the day! This was a big disappointment and contrary to the boasts of the brochure.
The club house is open during the evenings and reasonably priced. Most evenings there is entertainment varying from comics to theme bands. Most acts are very very good and a good evenings entertainment can be had for a good price. Security is on site and stood at front of house, contrary to what another reviewer has stated I found them friendly and polite, however, it does question some of the sites clientelle if you need security at such a venue.I will say no more !.
In contrast to all this the site is popular and many people return again and again some arriving for two or three weeks. My view is if you are looking for a site where the surroundings are comfortable, picturesque and you can enjoy a little r&r while having the option of the odd night out look elsewhere.
I make no apolgies if my review appears negative as having been to other sites advertising less facilities at more reasonable pricing I fail to see how this site offers value for money or a relaxing place to stay.

The site is well set up with everything you could possibly need.
There is a security barrier on the entrance whereby you need a swipe card to gain entry. We were allowed to pick whichever pitch we wanted.
There are two toilet/shower blocks which were large and very clean. The water was always warm also.
There is an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor one being built eventually?? There is an outdoor play area for little ones with a football pitch and swings etc.
The entertainment was good but it was a quiet time of the week when we went thus acts were few and far between. The bar prices were reasonable and they had a takeaway open from 7pm.
There is a local Tesco/Asda and somerfield all within a few minutes by car.
The only real bad point of the site is the noise from trains and traffic. However, you forget about the noise after time.
If you have young ones I would definitely recommend 'Animal Farm'. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and the best farm trip I have been to.

This was our first stay at Home Farm. We found it very welcoming and the evening entertainment very good. The site is very well maintained and clean water is close to hand. Draw backs are there seemed to be only 1 refuse tip (bumpster) which was a little walk. Their electric is down rated and the use of microwaves, hair dryers and domestic kettles are banned. If you were to take a dog, note the field is next to a railway track.
We would certainly use this site again.
