Have just got back after spending a week at Tyddyn Llwyn. We have been a few times, but not for a couple of years. Had a lovely week. Since we last went there have been a few changes. A new warden, who was friendly and helpful, the restaurant is now a Smoke House and all the pitches have own water tap and waste drain. Tv signal really good, just tilt ariel on its side and point to the clubhouse.
On our last night we decided to have a meal at the clubhouse. Everything was cooked lovely and service very quick. Was a bit disappointed that there was no salad on the plate, and are typical bar meals, although tasty!
We had a drive down to Blackrock Sands, and was quite surprised that they now charge £5 to park on the beach. Free after 6pm. Thought this was quite a lot. Instead we headed to our favourite Borth y Gest. Never fails to disappoint. There is now a charge of £3 in the carpark, which used to be free, but still worth it. The food in the tearooms to die for!
We really enjoyed our week here. The site very clean, tidy and quiet. No noise from the clubhouse.
The outside area at the back of the clubhouse has now been revamped. Its really nice to sit out there now, with a huge canopy if wet.
Had such a good holiday, we have booked to go again in September. Plenty to do in the area.

The site has views to rival Canada's rockies.
This was our second visit to the site. This time we had 2wks there.
Nice friendly, helpful staff. The laundry room and shower block were pristine. The shower was 50p to use I was easily able to wash myself and my 2 boys, it even lasted long enough for me to start getting dressed whilst the boys played with the water.
The only minor downside though, the lights are on a sensor/timer so if no one enters the toilet block after a certain amount of time the lights over the shower cubicles go out making it rather darkish whilst dressing.
Great sized pitches with water /drainage.
The boys enjoyed the play area and had a great time paddling about in the stream that runs through the site.
There are dog walks from the site but unfortunately no good for me with a pushchair and 2 youngsters in tow due to the steep terrains.
Had a couple of meals at the restaurant on site that were good value for money. It was good to see that the outside area has been refurbed since our last visit as this is where we have to sit with the dog(who was not left out when the meal came and was given a doggie treat).
10/10 Fish and Chips on the road down to blackrock sands beach.
We travelled to blackrock sands, about 7min in car just for ease with being able to drive on the sand with all the paraphernalia associated with little ones but would really prefer other beaches in the area, its not a beach you can relax on with children because of the cars driving up and down, often exceeding the speed limits.
We chose the train ride from porthmadog to Tan-Y-Bwlch the station has a nice café and great play area. Ffestiniog railway is dog friendly but note the carriages are very compact so if your not a doggy person I would probably pay that little bit extra to sit in first class(There was 3 dogs in our carriage and 1 lady who was not keen).
Plenty of choice for shops in porthmadog which you could walk to from the site but be prepared for a potential cardiac arrest walking back (rather steep).
With limited attractions that you can take a dog (as is anywhere)we decided to have a drive to isle of Anglesey to Anglesey sea zoo, not impressed at all, the outside play area especially was like the land that time forgot, very disappointing not like the write up at all.
All in all a fab site, will definitely recommend and visit again next year.

We regularly use this site as a home from home as it is only an hour away.
Our dogs love Black rock sands and we love the town of Porthmadoc which has at least three leading supermarkets and a plethora of nice local shops.
Cadwalladers in town is pet friendly for well behaved mutts, with free Wi-Fi to boot.
Nice clubhouse, superb views and a loyalty scheme complete the package.

We stayed here for four nights and thought it was a lovely site.
The pitches are extremely spacious and each has its own tap and EHU. They each have a hardstanding with grass by the side. They are also terraced which makes the most of the lovely countryside views.
The washroom facilities are excellent and very clean although you do have to pay 50p for a shower. The washing up and laundry rooms are also very good. There is an on site shop and also a bar and restaurant if you don't want to cook.
We walked into Porthmadog which isn't far away and has an Aldi and Tesco for food shopping and a nice harbour and railway station for the scenic routes through Snowdonia. However it is quite a steep uphill walk on the return journey! There are some good footpaths around the site too.
We would recommend this site for its location for exploring Snowdonia, its excellent facilities and its spacious, well marked pitches.

We stayed at this site for the last week of the season and found it to be absolutely fantastic. The shower facilities were still cleaned every day even though we seemed to be the only ones there. Luckily the weather was great and we liked the site so we extended our stay for another three nights.
The road into the site is a bit tight and twisty and when we were leaving met a car coming the other way which was a bit nerve racking especially as we had just dealt with the caravan place in Porthmadog and were trading our van in.
We found all the staff friendly and had a couple of drinks in the bar and found the people friendly.
Black Rock Sands is 5 minutes away by car and we found a brilliant pub the Tafarn Glanaber by the caravan parks (ask for the beef and onion baguette.
There is a nice walk up the hill at the rear of the site which takes you over into Porthmadog town center.
All in all we would go back to this site.

We stayed at this site over a weekend at the end of the season. We visited because our friends had stayed before and recommended it.
Overall, we thought the site was pleasant with flat pitches, grounds well kept and the clean toilet blocks. The rate of £18 a night we felt was reasonable and didn't really mind paying the 50p for the shower. The site was also in a good location close to Porthmadog and nice beaches. The only bins on the site were at the entrance.
However, our biggest disappointment was the attitude of the landlady at the pub. She was unwelcoming. We were sat there at 7pm on a Saturday evening and they started turning lights off around us. She made a comment that he was saving electricity. We left not long after - we felt it was all a little strange and that we were not welcome. For this reason, we didn't spend any more money and I doubt we will return.

Camped at this campsite early August 2015. The site is set on a hill side but the roads/paths are not to steep. The electric hook up spaces are flat and close together. However, the tented areas are open and are not flat at all with very limited areas that are flat or with a gentle slope. We had to pitch on a hill side which gave for poor nights sleep during our stay. There is a flat'ish area at the bottom which was very boggy. There are three toilet / shower blocks which were clean and tidy. (50p a shower which gave plenty of time). Did have a bar on site - pub prices (as to open to the public) so limited our visits. Reception with a Small shop selling essentials but was only open 9 - 5 but the bar was open for late arrivals. Overall an ok site but for the tented areas not being flat. Top 100 site???

Great clean tidy site and dog friendly. Toilet block was spotlessly clean great showers although they work on 50p meters. There is a hotel on the site providing a bar. Also a well stocked campers shop. Only A short walk down to portmadog this is a bit of a up hill down hill walk but not to much effort.
In portmadog are shops, pubs, restaurants and the small gauge railway station.

Nice site with an excellent toilet/shower block and on site bar/restaurant. Just a 15 minute walk into Porthmadog but there really isn't much to see there. On the other hand, Borth Y Gest, a small fishing Cove about the same walking distance away from the site was a great find with a few Bistros and a great walk around the headland. I would stay over again at the site as its a good base, clean, well kept, and a nice sheltered location.

We have visited Tydynn llwyn for many years and had a seasonal pitch for a number of years. It is one of the most friendliest sites I have ever visited. The site is exceptionally well maintained and has easy access to Porthmadog, beaches and countryside alike. We are visiting again this year and hoping for a seasonal pitch again next year. We love it here.
