Very pleasant site. We booked a fully-serviced, hard-standing pitch, which provided plenty of room for our caravan, porch awning and car. The hard-standing was a God-send when the torrential rain came - awning floor stayed nice and dry.
Site conveniently located, with Porthmadog within easy walking distance.
Our nearest toilet and shower block seemed relatively new and modern. Our only (minor) complaint is having to pay 50p for a shower, especially when there aren't any privacy cubicles for people to get washed. As there was only 3 showers in our ladies' block, this meant that I had to queue for a shower most days (although my husband and son didn't experience the same problem with the mens' showers).
Would recommend that the site improves its waste disposal facilities - there's only one skip at the entrance to the site, and more should be done to encourage recycling (think I'm right in saying there was only a bottle bank).
All in all we very much enjoyed our stay.

Stayed for 1 night whilst cycling Lon Las and it's a mixed review.
On the plus side the showers were excellent, the toilet block is clean and modern. There is an on site bar.
On the down side the camping area is on a slope and I felt that the site was not that bothered about having tents. I was the only tent on site and still couldn't find a flat spot to pitch - I ended up going back to ask to pitch on one of the serviced (EHU) tent spaces which are flat. Even though I was the only tent and was staying for one night I was made to feel like I was asking for the crown jewels.
The bar is pricey and didn't serve food, the showers are pricey.
I came away thinking that this was a Caravan park not a place for those under canvas.

When we were visiting, the site was very quiet with not many visitors, probably because it was beginning of October and the weather wasn't very good.
The toilets were clean and warm. The site looked well kept and the pitches were hardstanding with grass area. You pitched on the hardstanding and it was quite difficult to get the tent pegs of our awning into the flint, the grass was to separate each of the pitches.
Not far from Porthmadog and despite the hills we walked to the town on the two days we were there, it took about 15-20 minutes normal pace.
Pretty view from site too and there was a playground for children, shop which was well stocked too.

Just returned from a weeks stay having originally booked for 4 nights. The site is in a beatiful location and is clean and well kept. The new shower block is lovely, clean and warm with one larger shower cubicle which makes showering your children much easier. The play area is great and the games room is handy. We didn't feel the need to use the resturant or family room so can't comment on those. The site has a lovely family friendly atmosphere and there are kids on bikes and scooters everywhere which was great for our two.
We had a non electric pitch which, although on a slight slope, had a stunning view of Moel y Gest (the mountain behind the site). The pitches with electric hook up were very cramped in a long line with nowhere for your car apart from in front of your tent so we are glad we opted for non electric.
The village of Borth y Gest is beautiful and its well worth making the effort to climb Moel y Gest. We made it up and down on our last morning in two hours with two children aged 3 and 6. Child free it takes about an hour and is well worth it for the fantastic panoramic views.
We will return.

WE stayed 5 nights and had no cause for complaint.
The site is set in beautiful surroundings and has all the amenities you would expect from a modern camp site, bar, shop. The shower blocks were very good with plenty of hot water for 50p, ( I got bored waiting to see how long they would last and got out before they were finished well showered).
They owners are pleasant and helpful and the restaurant serves filling, hearty food at a reasonable price, better than some pubs in Portmadoc.
Parts of the site are a bit sloping but nothing major, good drainage when rainy.
There is a kids play area and nice mountain walk nearby. Black rock sands is a mile or so away - you can drive on the massive beach, good for kids, (ther is a small charge weekends).
Portmadoc about 1/2 mile the other way. Has a Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Takeaways, pubs, cafes, Harbour.
All in all a nice site well placed for seeing Snowdonia.
Been twice now, would stay again.

Just got back from a 3 night stay.
The welcome was friendly at reception. We were putting up our awning for the first time and one of the staff stopped to help and bent one of the parts for us to help it fit better! -very helpful and friendly. The site was busy but had a lovely family atmosphere.
We stayed on pitch B4 with electric hookup and our own water tap and drain. The toilet/shower blocks were immaculate and warm. Showers are 50p but not time or water limited so you can take your time in the shower.
The hotel staff were friendly and it was a home from home with comfortable sofas.
The only criticism is the meal we had at the hotel, we had pork and apple sausages and mash which was the saltiest thing I have ever tasted and £9!
I can recommend a takeaway curry from 'passage to India' just down the hill from the campsite.
Would recommend and would stay here again!

We stayed at Tyddyn Llwyn for a week, and would have loved to stay longer. Our pitch felt a little cramped, on a row of 9m wide pitches with EHU, so although our tent is pretty small compared to many, the larger tents on either side of us felt very close.
Everyone had to park their car in front of their tent, which didn't do anything to enhance the wonderful views. But on the plus side our pitches weren't on too much of a slope, unlike the non electric pitches, and each one had it's own water supply which deprived my very happy daughter of one of her usual campsite jobs!
The playground seemed to keep all the kids happy from dawn till dusk, and then at dusk the family room in the bar was ideal for sitting and playing games provided to use free of charge. We ate there once, on Sausage and Mash night and the food was gorgeous, but homecooked sausage and mash is never going to be good enough again!
The toilets and showers in the block we used were brand new, spacious and immaculate. The showers are 50p to use, and you get plenty of hot water for your money, but it was annoying that you still have to press the button every 20 seconds to keep the water flowing.
The pot wash and laundry are housed in the same block, and I did have to queue to wash my pots a few times as there is only 2 sinks. I guess I could have searched out the alternatives, but it was no drama to stand and make small talk in the queue.
A choice of 2 beaches are a short drive away. Black Rock Sands is a large open stretch of beach and you can drive right onto the sand for the sum of £4, which is very useful when you have a child who flips between wanting to build sand castles to body boarding, to kite flying, and so on!
The car makes a handy storage box for all the kit! The other beach, Borth Y Gest, is reached by a walk along a coastal path and down some steep steps, so less fun to carry all the equipment, but a lovely beach is the reward, with lots of rocks and coves and soft golden sand.
Porthmadog High Street might be one of the busiest roads I have ever driven down, the traffic is constant. We found parking at the harbour near the Tourist Information Centre was the best place, as we could actually avoid the main road almost entirely (turn right by Passage to India!)
The small shop on the campsite sells a very small range of basic essentials, plus some camping items and toys. Town has a choice of Spars, Tesco, Lidl and Aldi so no problem with shopping.
I wouldn't hesitate to return here, the sooner the better!

We stayed for 10 nights in June and enjoyed everyday.
We were met by Norma, the park warden, who told us all about the park.
We were directed to our pitch and met there by Les, the other warden, who helped us set up.
The pitch was more than big enough. A large hardstanding pitch, enough room for any size van, awning and car.
At the side of the hard standing you also had a large grassed area.
The facilities were excellent, cleaned everyday.
The shop had all the basics and more.
The pub served great bar meals, all served with a smile.
5 mins walk into Porthmadog town centre, with every amenity you would require.
Beach is a 5 mins walk away through countryside.
All in all, one of the best sites we have stayed at. Will be returning

Visited this site with our 2 children, one being a 2 month baby. Site was very picturesque with lovely quiet atmosphere. Pitches were good but if really busy you might get stuck with a sloping pitch!
Toilet/shower blocks were clean with the new block very modern and nice, other older one's were still clean and functional.
Only gripe was with a baby there was no facilities to sterilise bottles(microwave) but this is camping! also no baby changing facilities in the pub which is not very good as you have to walk a fair bit to toilet block, also separate room for families, this day and age it should be open to families throughout venue.
Will visit again.

Accessed by a private road this is a very, very quiet, clean and well kept site hidden away in a valley just a two minutes drive from porthmadog centre.
We were two adults with a tourer and staff were welcoming and friendly.
Tourer and motorhome pitches are level and hard standing with an all weather surface for both caravan and awning (remember your hard ground pegs). A mown grassed area along side gives plenty of room to park your car.
There are ample water points by many electric hook-up posts.
Toilet blocks were clean and well stocked with loo rolls, hand wash etc. Showers had a charge of 50p and gave plenty of hot water for a decent shower.
Reception for tv, radio and some mobile phone networks is very poor especially on the lower pitches! Forget the status aerial for the tv! We spent ages messing around with latest technology equipment without success we did however get a perfect reception using a traditional type aerial, a pole of approx 12' and a long piece of coax through the caravan window.
There is a licensed bar with a family room on site but as we didn't use this facility we can't comment.
Everyone was respectfully asked to put their own rubbish in a large skip close to the entrance as there were no litter bins around the site.
The site has public footpath access to moel-y-gest mountain and surrounding area but no direct access to the beach.
Would i return here? Yes!
During our very pleasant stay here, I felt comfortable and our belongings safe amongst other friendly like-minded people.
