We stayed three nights in a wigwam it was fantastic, the wigwam was clean comfortable and cosy, facilities were great, loads of toilets, washing up areas, chemical disposal, rubbish bins around the site the staff were all lovely.
We came to go to Musselburgh harness racing event the site was perfect for this.

We Stopped at this site for a very convenient stopover on route south. We were made very welcome at reception and allocated a pitch which was hardstanding long but narrow which means driving in or reversing made it difficult not to churn up the grass at the corners with 7. 5 metre Motorhome. The site is well laid out on a hill.
There were excellent views from the top of the site over Edinburgh and surrounding area. There was and excellent play park for those with children. There was a main toilet block and 2 other satellite blocks which were closed despite the start of April and the site being busy. The main toilet block was quite small and in need of a bit a refurbishment.
The shower I picked was only a trickle and one of the toilet seats was off. There was a shop on site which was very well stocked with groceries and caravan camping goods. We had our dog and there is excellent dog walks from the site. A great site for a stopover or visiting Edinburgh but not for a long term stay for us.
I would and probably will return.

My partner and I wanted to try our new tent so we spent a glorious weekend at mortonhall, cold at night but lovely sun all weekend. The site itself is is large and spacious with several toilet and shower blocks dotted about. Everything was kept very clean and tidy.
The bar and restaurant were very good and we had excellent meals on both nights with the very friendly staff providing a good service. The restaurant is that good that it is used by the locals and we were lucky to get a table the first night and booked for the second.
Saturday night there was a quiz which was a good icebreaker followed by a member of staff who doubled as a singer, and she was better than some of the xfactor contestants.
We will be going back with the grandchildren in 2017

Our first time at mortonhall campsite and will use again when up that way, from tv room, to kitchen, to shop, the bar, plus the meals served is all very good,
every where is very clean,
the only thing to moan about is the showers are a little on the small side

Huge site, no need to book outside Festival time but the office shuts at 7:00 pm. If you value space, get a hardstand -we were on grass, and neighbouring motorhomes were only 3 paces apart. About £25 on grass with EHU. Avoid the toilet block in the middle as it feels dank & unloved - dripping taps, running toilets; we used the freshly refurbished ones opposite the TV room, below the Stables Bar, good showers, free hair dryer.
The Motorhome service point is easily accessible, but avoid the pitch right next door to it as the open air CDP makes it a whiffy location. Great site for long (dog) walks - ask for the map that shows where they are.
Don't buy single bus tickets, get a £4 day ticket from the office (correct change only on the bus) and hop-on hop-off to explore Edinburgh - there's so much more to this beautiful city than Princes Street. (Saturday market in Leith; Sunday market in Stockbridge; the wonderful National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street; the Dazzle ship and Royal Yacht at Ocean Terminal; the Royal Galleries & Holyrood Palace; the Scottish Parliament where you can sit & listen in the debating chamber; climb Arthur's Seat; the pandas at the Zoo; the beautiful Botanic Gardens; Rosslyn Chapel of Da Vinci Code fame; and so on) The 'travelinescotland' app will show you where the bus stops are, where & when the buses go.
Stop at Morningside on the way back for supermarkets (Waitrose and Sainsbury) - a 16 will get you there as well as the 11 that goes to the site. The site is open all year, we'll be back.

Very good location
Well attentive and helpful staff
Good shop /information
This is our second stay here and as others have said it is a nice site this time again we found the ladies showers un kept we had to take our own paper to the loo as they were not stocked it also looked grubby.
Over all this is a good site and enjoyed the walk through the woods.
Even though I had a moan about the showers I can only say it is a good site but maybe not a 5*

A lovely site only 30 minutes from Edinburgh city centre, number 11 bus just outside the gates, you can buy a ticket at the reception, or on the bus. (£1. 60 each way)
Facilities were immaculate, super showers, and a great dishwashing area too.
A nice play park for the kids, a well stocked shop and a small bar and restaurant.
We don’t usually do big sites but this one was brilliant, we’ll definitely be back.

Was able to secure a tent pitch at the last minute at this site. They were very accommodating and even left the directions at the reception door after hours since we got in late. The non-electric tent pitches are in the middle of a field and it proved to be very challenging camping during that night due to bad weather. The best part though was the shower/toilet block. Very clean and warm with music pumped in, very nice for a lady with kids. The baby changing loo was less nice but still clean and useful. The kids loved the highland cow on the way out and the gent that checked us out was very friendly and accommodating. Easy car ride into the city made this site very worth the £16.

We chose this campsite as a base for the last couple of days of the Edinburgh Festival. This is the perfect location for this, the friendly reception gave us the directions but you simply hop to the bus right outside the campsite and it takes you right into the centre.
The facilities all looked clean and plentiful. We had everything we needed (including the kitchen sink) in our Bumble Camper but enjoyed the hot showers on site.
Next time we are in Edinburgh we will stay again.

Stayed here for 2nd time this time for 1 night on 9th August 15. Big site, very helpful staff and 1st class facilities. Great on site pub, kitchen and TV room. Nice level good sized pitches with or without power. Car parking at pitch added bonus. Great shop and good bus link into Edinburgh. 2minutes Off city bypass makes it a great place to see the shows around Festival time. Plenty of toilet and shower block all around the site always with hot water and kept very clean. Will def use again.
