I have split my review into sections
Booking
My husband made the booking in person the gentleman was friendly but unfortunately he told us we could stay as long as we liked but then his wife booked the pitch out from under us and didn’t let us know. Very Inconvenient.
Facilities
This had to be the farthest I have even had to travel to go to the toilet or empty our waste water. The toilet block itself was clean but the key didn’t work in the lock I was given another key but this wasn’t much better. The code for the toilet - I never got that to work first time. (a nightmare when you really need the loo).
I had to attach the waste water hog to the tow bar or my car to take it round to empty it. I only got this ingenious idea after watching someone else do it.
Pitch
The size of the pitch was adequate but there was that much mud on the grassy side we had to take the car mats out of the car to get to the caravan door. The road noise is shocking but we did get used to this eventually.
Customer Service
As I stated earlier the left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing and we were very unhappy about the customer service. When my husband let the staff know he was unhappy, (my husband does not swear or is not abusive in anyway) he was informed we had to vacate our pitch that day. Even though we were booked on for a further night

My girlfriend and I stayed two nights.
Facilities are fantastic. The showers and toilets are both separate and single sex, so there's no queuing for toilet. The fact there's a laundery room is great as I've stayed in a few sites where nothing like this is offered.
Extra security - fantastic, loved the barriers as girlfriend and I spent both days out and about so we felt we could leave belongings in our tent with no prospect of them being stolen.
Nice short grass and ground was that good mix whereby it wasn't too soft but easy enough to hammer your pegs in.
Plus location- yes, it's close to the motorway but this means it's so easy to get to - and it's near the town of Tamworth, so there's plenty of supermarkets about as well as days out like Drayton Manor, snowdrome, Tamworth castle etc etc.
Can't fault this place really.

We have just come back from spending 6 nights at Marston (wife, me, 4year old and 1year old). We had a great time. The site is exceptionally well located for all manner of activities including drayton manor, twycross zoo, the belfry and the snow dome in Tamworth (has a swimming pool as well as snow activities).
We found the toilets and showers to be very clean. I was victim to walking halfway to the toilet and realising I had forgotten the key, but it was nothing really. We were on the far side of the site and it took me and our 4 year old one minute to walk to the toilets.
The owners were very helpful and gave us lots of information about things to do and see and where to get vouchers for attractions.
There is a fish and chip van on Saturdays at 7:30 ish and while we had to queue for a while, it was worth it, the food was great.
The playground kept the kids on site entertained and whilst it is not massive, it was more than adequate.
With regard to noise, if you thought about it you would notice it, but generally we did not notice it.
The site was very reasonably priced and we would definitely use this site again.

Just had a two night visit to take my little boy and daughter to drayton manor, the site was clean tidy and extremely friendly. Although the playpark was small my kids loved it, on arrival the owner was friendly welcoming and very helpful electric hookup was no extra charge the chip van on Saturday night was a god send will definitely use this place again as the toilets and shower block were the cleanest I've seen. The only downfall was the traffic noise but soon learned how to ignore it

We visited this site for three nights on our return to Yorkshire from Somerset.
Positive Points:
Spacious pitch. Not overlooked, plenty of room between campers.
Location-nice town, lovely zoo nearby.
Negative Points:
First impressions of the site are poor. You are greeted by old caravans that appear to have been there for years.
Noise-don't underestimate the noise from the motorway, main road, workers leaving the site and the nearby airport. Noise is constant-night and day. This site is far from peaceful.
Distance of pitch from the facilities-We were situated at the rear end of the field-a good five minute walk from the toilet block.
Security-odd one this as you would think it to be a positive, but trust me, after walking five minutes to the loo in the middle of the night, only to find you have left the loo door security code in your tent and have to go back-it's far from positive. You have to lock the showers with a key (£5 deposit required) and the barrier to the site is locked at 9pm meaning guests have to leave by this time, after paying £1 for the privilege of sitting in this lack lustre field.
Bins-there is just one skip by the reception, meaning you have to fill a bin bag, leave it on your pitch to attract wasps, then lug it across the field.
Waste water-there is one point by the reception, but the owners make it quite clear that you will be removed from the site if you fail to dispose of waste water properly.
Notices-I counted eleven notices on the reception window-ten of which were rules-do not park by the side of your pitch, guests must be gone by 9pm, no take aways after 9pm, children under ten must be accompanied by an adult in the loos (??!)etc etc.
Laundry-the machines only accept tokens-these have to be purchased during reception hours-10am-6pm. Most inconvenient when you are out all day.
General upkeep-we appreciate grass needs to be cut, by why on earth the day before very publicised rain. The owner failed to clear away the cuttings leading to wet grass being trailed into our trailer, the car, the showers the toilets.
The toilet block appeared clean, but on closer inspection was scruffy-dead insects everywhere.
Family friendly-absolutely not. The play area is no more than you would get in a back garden and the countless notices about how we should accompany the kids everywhere became a bore.
Extra charges-when we booked this site the owner was more than happy to inform us of his wi-fi connection. On arrival we were told it would be £5 for the password.

Just got back from a weekend here. On arrival we went into the reception to pay. From there we were escorted to our pitch and had the facilities explained to us. The owners were both friendly and helpful.
Although it had been raining recently, the site showed no sign of ground water, so looks like it drains well. The site is virtually completely flat with well laid out hardstanding around the outside of the site, and grass in the centre. Each pitch is well proportioned with plenty of room for vans, awnings, cars, etc! The site perimeter is all established trees or bush and gave the impression of seclusion, although the main road runs alongside. Having always lived on a main road we certainly did not notice any road noise at all, so can only assume those complaining about the road noise live in a cave in the middle of nowhere.
In the centre of the site is a small play area for the kids. Nice to see something provided for the younger guests. Dotted around are freshwater points. To one side of the site is the reception, toilet and shower blocks, with the bin and waste disposal point. The toilets and showers are well kept and require either a key or security code to get in. Yes the waste disposal is a hole in the floor. Aren't they all just a variant of a hole in a floor? Certainly much easier to use than some where I am expected to lift 40 litres of waste water to over knee height!
The site is well located for places like Tamworth, Drayton Manor Park, NEC, NIA, etc. Would I visit again? Definetely. Nicely kept and run site. The added bonus of the security barriers is a nice to have. There may seem to be quite a few site rules. If you read them properly they are there for the safety and comfort of all the guests and most are no more than common decency to fellow campers / caravanners.
If I had to be critical, I would like to have more bins and waste disposal points, but this is being really critical in my opinion.

This was our second visit to this campsite. It is spotlessly clean and tidy, showers and toilets the cleanest we've seen. We will visit again I'm sure. The owners are very friendly, the only grumble I have was that last year on the day we were leaving we were able to pay extra to stay until the afternoon which they no longer offer, you need to leave by 12, which was a shame. But other than that a lovely campsite.

We visited this site at the end of the may bank school holidays for a long weekend. This site is great for families as there is a kiddies play area with swings and climbing area.
The site is run by a really helpful couple they were more than happy to help whenever needed.
We had a great weekend visiting Drayton Manor's Thomas Land for my little boys birthday and to top it the weather was fantastic. We will be making another visit very soon.

This is the 2nd time this month we have stayed at this site, both for a 2-night stay, and without hesitation I can state brilliant, happily planning on returning next month.
Nothing is too much trouble for Mark or his wife, they will accommodate their guests in anyway they can.
Secure barriers on entry, toilets and showers immaculate, again with secure admission. The play park in the middle is large enough to accommodate all the children that were on site during both Bank holiday weekends.
As for there being no atmosphere, complete poppycock, we made friends on both visits and have even agreed to return to Marston with one of the families we hooked up with.

We stayed at this site during Crufts. The toilets and showers were spotless. All operated on a key pad or key system (refundable deposit)
The barrier was also operated after hours by a key pad, which was again great and gave a feeling of security.
We were made very welcome and they were very helpful overall.
Great for the NEC and whilst so close to civilisation, it certainly didn't feel like it.
Will certainly be back again next March if not before.
