10/10 for scenic location. But, and you know that this is not a good but. The shower/ toilet/ sink rooms left an awful lot to be desired. The showers need taking out and and resealing, the grouting was black with mould and I have to say it was a first for me to find a half eaten chocolate digestive biscuit on the floor in one of the ensuite rooms. The fishermen were supposed to use the portaloo facilities but I saw 2 out of the four fishing families using the camping facilities. Perhaps having a key code on the door would be an idea. Two out of the four toilets had no toilet paper and only one of the two outside sinks had paper to dry your hands.
Keith, the warden was lovely and friendly, site is reasonably priced but for people needing to use the facilities, not so good.

This site is hidden down in the valley away from any of the roads. It's fairly steep and we were concerned about getting back up the steep hill with our heavy rig but it was fine!
There is a unisex toilet block which could do with a bit of a lick of paint, but the facilities themselves are all modern. There are four cubicles with a toilet, sink and shower in each. Not an issue for us but imagine it could get busy in peak season.
There are 2 lakes, one is very large, with fisherman having fun! There is a huge field to exercise the dogs. Didn't see the falconry in action. Some reviews talk about the birds being exercised on the site but we weren't lucky enough to see them. Be warned there is a shooting ground quite close which is open most days. If you have dogs like ours then this can be quite stressful, so we went out as much as possible and played loud music.
There is a farm shop just on the main road which was very good and very reasonably priced too.
We went for a lovely run around the countryside, and passed lots of pubs which we unfortunately never made it back to sample. The walks from the site are fabulous.
The top site was really busy with workers staying, however the lower level was pretty quiet and peaceful. The sites are quite separate due to the hill. In fact it's so far they tend to drive down to use the facilities.
Overall it's a nice site, lots of hardstanding. It can be a bit blustery being in the valley, but better on the lower site than the higher one! We visited the site to see family but it turned out to be too far to visit them really. We were still over an hour away, so we probably won't go back, but purely because it was too far from family.
It is beautiful location and a well maintained site.

What a gem of a site, views exceptional, a lovely place to relax, and ideally located for shops, pubs etc. The toilet block is clean and well maintained, showers were hot and powerful, we were sited on the upper level which did mean quite a walk down and up a steep incline to toilet/shower block. The staff friendly. We are already planning a return visit.

Just returned from 4 nights at this site, just the 2 of us in our 2 berth caravan. But we met daughter in law, husband and grandkids (camping) for the Saturday night. Very picturesque site but quite steep. Well laid out to allow for slopes as on hillside. Beautiful countryside all around and lake if anyone wants to fish. Lots of space for kids to run around and play although no playground as such. Toilet block unusual for UK as one unisex block which consists of 4 separate spacious cubicles each with shower sink and toilet in them. This could be an issue at peak times but we had no problems. Lots of hot water for lovely strong showers then lots of room to get dry and changed.
Friendly owner but no shop or similar facility on site, just a few sweets for the children.
We visited National Trust places of which there are quite a few in this area. Lovely farm shop nearby, open Sunday am but shut Monday's. Had trouble locating a supermarket Banbury being the closest town, should have done some research before as no wi fi on site. Would recommend The Plough in Warmington village nice pub and food.

Such a special site. Not really much told entice children as there is no play area etc. , which is fine as the is a pond for fishing on site and could pose a problem for little ones. The fishing was a real bonus for my husband and I could watch at the waters edge while reading books.
Very good layout on site with all the facilities that you could ask for. Shower block was brilliant. Shaun and the staff were very friendly and so helpful. Lots of walks actually from the site that lead to totally secluded lanes and a couple of pubs. The site is also a falconry centre an we watched the birds of prey being exercised right in front of our trailer tent !
FANTASTIC

We have been looking for a campsite about 1 hour from our-base in iWiltshire for a while now and so we were delighted when we found Fir Tree farm
The setting is just perfect rolling hills and so peaceful. The pitches are very well spaced out but not religiously set out. Which feels very relaxed. We paid £15 a night for pitch, electric, Tent and awning which is so reasonable. The shower block is on the lower level and each cubicle was clean but not spotless but had masses of hot water and no timer. However if you just want the loo at busy times it is a bit of a wait. Other reviews mentioned portaloos we did not see any.
There is loads to do. We visited the Herb centre just lovely and arranged beforehand a visit to the Falconrey on site. Dian's passion for birds of prey shined through, the birds are so well looked after and her knowledge is awesome.
We also walked over to the village of Ratley from the campsite and visited the Rose and. Crown a 11c pub and had a lovely lunch at the the Castle in Edgehill.
You may be thinking there is a but here and I am afraid there is we were told there was a wedding on site that night and arrived as requested before 3pm so we were not in the pics with our caravan. We were not prepared however for it being a 2 day festival themed wedding as the music got a bit much
Sean (warden) did his best to reach a solution with both U. S. And the wedding group
I would go again as it was what we were looking for but would check they do not have another event on that weekend first

This is a beautiful site, with good facilities. The site is on a hillside so the downhill entrance looks a bit daunting but actually looks much worse than it is. Pitches are cut out if the slopes and are fairly level, or can be managed with your wheel blocks. The shower blocks are some if the best we have used. Spacious, clean and hit showers are in the same large cubicle S toilets and wash basins. Electric hooks and water points are plentiful. The lakes are beautiful and the whole site has a sense of rest and relaxation. There are great walks off the site and lots to see locally. If you like fishing, walking, quietly reading a book, beautiful scenery, quiet nights or good facilities this site is perfect. At £15. 00 a night what more could you ask for
There was wedding on when we were here which was truly lovely to see, however some people complained about the late noise. We were warned before we booked this event was on so it didn't bother us at all. Those that complained got a full refund from the helpful staff who are in site and run the falconry.

We are regular visitors to this site but sadly after this weekend I doubt we will be returning. We were told when we booked that there was going to be a Wedding so we expected a little noise late into the night. The music was fairly loud at 11pm but assumed by 1 am it would have quietend down, oh how wrong we were. As the night went in the music got louder. The warden said he couldn't do anything as it was agreed with the landowners. Eventually at 0400 after us & others complaining the warden went down & the music was turned off, it was so loud that there were complaints from the residents in the nearby hotel. It started again on the Sunday night but all the caravanners complained so it was turned off.

We stayed here for Friday / Saturday night of the second August bank holiday. They don't insist on a 3 night minimum as some sites do, which suits us as Clare works on Mondays.
The site very well maintained and neat and tidy. The toilet / shower block has four 'rooms' in it, each with a shower, sink and toilet. There are further toilets around the site in the form of portaloos. They were all spotless when we visited.
Most of the site is on a steep slope with some terracing to provide flat areas for pitching tents and larger flat spaces at the top and bottom. We pitched our tent on one of the terraced areas.
There are numbered pitching areas which were quite small in the area we picked. Our tent + awning (7m in total) ended up taking two spaces, with the fire pit & chairs in a third. The warden didn't object though, and we were only changed for one tent (£15). There were no additional charges for children either.
The Warden was very friendly and helpful. We also did the Falconry tour (£5). I can recommend this to anyone staying here. Dian really knows her stuff and gave a very interesting and informative tour.
The site is next to the National Herb Centre, which we visited on the way home and wished we had gone there the day before. There's a good children’s play area there and they do good food (far better than the wobbly Wheel - the local pub we went to on Saturday).
We also visited Upton House, a National Trust property in the area. This has all the usual good stuff from NT places - something to entertain the children and a good cream tea! There are a few other National Trust properties around as well.
We didn't get time to go to Warwick Castle (26 min drive according to Google Maps) so will go back next year for that. This site is firmly on our list of places to go back to.

Clean and tidy site with the most amazing views.
Pitches are of a good size and not too close to each other so there is a real sense of space around you. Considering it was peak holiday season the site was lovely and quiet and an excellent place to be for a relaxing get away from it all holiday.
The site grounds were kept spotlessly maintained. However, the same sadly cannot be said for the facilities in the shower block.
The toilets and hand basins were always clean with an endless supply of toilet roll and hand soap. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the shower left a lot to be desired. Having said that there was constant hot water and no time limit which was a positive.
There is a falconry on site which I suggest you book in advance of your stay if that's your thing, as we seemed to have no luck whilst on our 8 night stay. If you are lucky you may see the birds being flown just outside your van/tent. This was magical!
The site is dog friendly and there are dog walking fields where you can let them off their leads and be free.
Lots of things to do and see. We went to the zoo in Burford which was dog friendly, well worth a day trip.
Bourton on the water, dog friendly little car and toy museum. Stratford upon Avon, dog friendly trip on the river boat plus lots, lots more.
To sum up. This is an amazing little site in a beautiful area. If you need a chill out break, this is the place!
