We found this to be a lovely little site at a reasonable price. The previous reviews for July sum up how we saw it. We had a very friendly greeting on arrival and given all the information that we needed.
We used our own van's facilities because of the present situation and had a very pleasant 2 nights stay.
We walked along the reasonably quiet road into Sling on the first afternoon and on both evenings we walked down the track by the site gate into the woodlands. We did one of the walks, shown on a map at the site, which went through the Forest to Lower Lydbrook and then drove into the town of Coleford and surrounding areas in the afternoon.
We enjoyed the break and will go back again.

Excellent site, well maintained, toilets and shower spotlessly clean.
Bev very friendly and helpful. Site is ideal location for walking in the Wye valley and Forest of Dean.
Took 2 dogs with us and the woods adjacent to the campsite were lovely for a local walk.
Would definitely return.

We enjoyed our one week stay at this quiet, rural site which is alongside part of the Forest of Dean from which you can enjoy walks in the forest without needing to drive at all.
There is a unisex shower and a male and female toilet all of which are kept clean and regularly maintained. A grey water and chemical toilet waste disposal point is adjacent to the toilet / shower block.
There is also a small hut for recycling as well as for local information. There is also satellite TV connectivity available to the pitches.
Bev the site manager is particularly helpful.

A lovely quiet peaceful site. Just right for chilling. Pleasant walks through the forest.
A lovely lady called Bev sorted us out. She was helpful and very friendly. Didn't go off site apart from walks with the dogs in the forest because of lockdown only recently being lifted.
Would definitely go back.

Lovely little adults only campsite.
10 pitches, most very spacious.
Site very well kept, with walks straight into the forest.
I think facilities are fairly basic, but we used our own, particular as it was our first outing after lockdown.

Great site, very quiet,
Easy access, good location for local attractions,
Good value, basic but adequate facilities,
Loads of space on good level hard standings,
Right on the edge of the forest.

What a superb site, so relaxing and peaceful and surrounded by the forest.
The site owners were very friendly and pitches large and well situated. Facilities very clean and functional for the price.
We didn't want to leave and will return. Two lovely meals at the Ostrich in the next village of Newland too.

Stayed on this adult only site for 2 nights on the way back from Devon. Easy to find, easy to access. Pitch allocated, but our MH unfortunately couldn't get level, as the front part of the pitch had quite a slope on it, and the front wheels were on that bit.
Luckily another couple arrived just after us, and their MH was smaller, their allocated pitch was much more level, so we agreed to swap. Result! Very quiet site, we found the walks on the other side of the road, which you access the site from, were better paths than the bit directly from the site.
We walked to the steam railway station that way, unfortunately no train for 2 days!
There is 1 shower and 1 male and 1 female WC;shower 20p for about 3 minutes, more than enough and very hot. All very basic, but clean. Not worth having to keep getting extra water, and cleaning your own shower for!
We noticed a planning application on one lamppost for the demolishing of toilet block and the building of a new one, so looks like refurbishment is imminent. Very reasonably priced at £14 per night, inc 2 people and EHU.
