Got delayed for 90 minutes due to an accident so arrived in the dark. Missed the turn off the A55 and I foolishly followed the sat nav which took us down Mill Lane which was VERY narrow. I missed the 'not suitable for wide vehicles' sign as it was behind a tree and it was dark. Do not make my mistake as you will damage your unit.
Finally arrived and they could not have been more welcoming. Showed us to the pitch which was a bit of a struggle getting on as the ground was soft after all the rain we had had. Once set up we went and had Fish and Chips in the dinning room which was excellent.
Facilities spotless and there was plenty of hot water in the gents for a good shower. The area is very quiet apart from the odd seagull and the views across the bay are spectacular.
Great site and definitely recommend it. You will need some for of transport as we thought it was a bit far to walk into Holyhead or get to the retail park area

Highly recommend this campsite - as long as you have a tent that can withstand some breezes and occasional strong winds.
We arrived to an incredibly friendly greeting at reception and were given a handout of dos and don't s of the site and explanation of the food available at breakfast or evening meal - even for campers.
We could pitch where we liked and despite it probably being a busy time we had loads of space between tents which I have only experienced once at another site (Hirdre Fawr - Nefyn). The views are incredible. Sea views in two directions.
The shower facilities were excellent. Heated in the evening and never any queuing at the times me and my daughter used them. Clean and nice hand wash products. The hair driers are quite weak though so prepare for at least ten mins to dry shoulder length hair!
There is a covered, clean dishwashing area with fridge, freezer and a couple of extra sockets. One of these had a mirror above so I used this for straightening my hair (I'm not vain - just have very unruly hair)!
We decided to take the breakfast option in the main B&B and have a full Welsh for £6 which was delicious - excellent service and with the owner Richard assisting with orange juice pouring. Conversations indicated a number of return visitors. All very friendly and laid back. Dogs were allowed in the dining room which we thought was cute but we noticed one guest looking quite judgemental.
We had to leave early as our Vango tent poles broke in the wind but two fellow campers came to our rescue to help us pack up. Really indicative of the location and the type of visitors at this site. There were no noisy sorts on this site and no awful social clubs that seem to be cropping up on once peaceful campsites.
It's definitely a site I would highly recommend. The site seemed to attract nice families, couples and as a single female with child I felt very safe and confident I could get help if required, unlike many campsites I have tried.
In terms of nearby for provisions there is an Asda in Holyhead and at J2 of A55 an out of town complex with large Tesco and Morrisons and other large DIY chains for any urgent items.
Would highly recommend visits to: Holyhead maritime museum (and the bistro next door), South Stack lighhouse, RSPB at Elin's Tower, Porthfarch beach, Rhosneigr (which has great bistros, restaurants, a Fat Face and great beach), Plas Newydd for the gardens (the house is disappointing and has quite rude staff).
All in all a great family location.

This is a top class cc site it has everything going for it. It is the best site i have stayed at in anglesey. Fantastic scenery and lovely views, and walks : great location.
Near to port dafarch, trearddur bay. All the amenities are first class. Immaculate spotless clean
Showers, toilets, with piped music plus washers dryers.
Everything on site for family's and all to enjoy their stay. A big bonus is the restaurant. Selling and providing good wholesome food. At reasonable prices.
The cc fields are well laid out and cut and lawned. Plenty of water taps, spacious pitches for caravans and tents
Near to holyhead and retail park shops. We stayed here whilst walking the isle of anglesey coastal path, on a very wet and windy may day.
And received a very warm welcome reception from alex and richard, who were very kind and helpful. Their customer care is first class.

Just returned from a 2 night stay here and really enjoyed it- efficient and welcoming check in - the young lady showed us the available pitches as we had not booked in advance - the pitch was a great size, wonderful views out too sea.
The amenities are excellent - lovely warm shower block, very clean, lots of hot water, we had breakfast at the B&B which was fab -
it is brilliant to have the farmhouse accommodation available as an alternative option if any of your family do not wish to camp -
the town is a 30 minute walk away, but there are many small coves closer -
we walked into Holyhead a very pleasant 2 mile walk down a minor road - great views - Dont dismiss Holyhead - it does have some redeeming features - the new Marina and promenade is lovely - excellent cafe/ bar at the end of it - nice sunny spot to look out to sea from.
We will definitely be back to stay at this campsite, absolutely lovely.

The facilities on this site are excellent, the shower area was very clean and a second block had just been built when we visited.
Many of the pitches looked like they were seasonal pitches and were not occupied on the two nights that we stayed. We therefore never had to queue for anything. I was a bit disappointed with the position of the pitch we were allocated as the immediate view was not brilliant. However, the campsite is surrounded by amazing scenery, it was there to enjoy a few steps away from the tent so this was just a minor disappointment.
We visited the site because of its close proximity to south stacks and because of the bird watching and walking in the area and we were not disappointed. There is a large supermarket 5 minutes away by car. We didn't find the local pub, didn't see one close by but we took our own supply of wine with us anyway so not a problem.
The greeting from the staff was welcoming and the atmosphere on the site was friendly. We would visit again.

Although staying here isn't cheap £10 per person ( adults) I found the facilities excellent. I stayed at one of the busiest times of the summer and never had to queue to use any of the facilities. Which were of a high standard and spotless
All the staff on site were very accommodating and I won't hesitate to recommend this campsite to anyone.
The campsite is right on the coast therefore the wind can be a problem but nothing a few well placed windbreaks couldn't sort out. The field set a side for games is a good idea and was well used by the kids staying on site.

We stayed on the site during a busy August - and although the site was busy there was plenty of space on site for tents. There was also 2 taps on the camp field which save the full walk down to the toilet block. The addition of a separate field for ball games for the families was useful although not always adhered to.
The facilities themselves were of an excellent nature. We never had to queue for toilets or showers despite the time of year and only for washing up if you picked the busiest time. We also made use of the laundry facilities (as bloke was biking it!) which were very cheap - we could do a wash for under a pound and the anglesey air dried it for free! We survived 40 mph winds on our last night - so be prepared for a windy time!
Overall, the campsite was lovely. The staff were all kind and helpful, so much so we stayed on an extra night! The option of breakfast was never taken up, but had we had a particularly bad forecast for morning weather it may have!
Nearby, Holyhead has a couple of big supermarkets off junction 2 of the A55 which was very useful for the silly things we'd forgotten. Treaddur Bay was very popular with lovely beaches, a couple of pubs, cafes and smaller shops.
Overall, it is somewhere we would visit again despite the higher price than some campsites we have visited. The view of the sea alone was worth it - but the kindness and friendliness of the staff made the trip even more successful.

Just returned from a fun weekend at this campsite. Weather was not good and we struggled to pitch our tent in strong winds. The site is very exposed with no shelter from the wind, the flip side of this is the amazing view of the sea from your tent. Facilities were fine - showers hot and clean and a handy family bathroom. The campsite was full but there was plenty of room to pitch and the tents were not packed in. We didn't sample Friday night supper but did h ave a Chinese delivered which was very tasty.

This is the most expensive campsite we have ever stayed on but we would definitely stay again. Here's what you need to know:
Cost
We paid £30 per night for 2 adults and 2 children (£10 per adult, £5 per child). That's a lot, but you get what you pay for here. For a start, all the hot water is now free, so ignore the stuff about 20p for 3 minutes of hot water in the showers.
Terrain
There's no getting away from it - the ground is stony, and we have more than 60 tent pegs to knock in. Plenty of them were bent in the process but fortunately, we had a metal mallet to straighten them out. The upside of stony ground is that you don't get waterlogged.
View
The view from the site is absolutely spectacular, over the sea to the twinkling lights of Treaddur Bay and the whole length of the Lleyn Peninsula. This alone is worth the site fees to me.
Climate
It's windy here. But what else do you expect, so high up and almost at the top of the Holyhead Mountain? So, take your fleeces for when the sun goes in/down.
Shower block
For women, there are 2 loo cubicles, 2 shower cubicles and 2 shower rooms, each containing a shower, a loo, a washbasin, a hairdryer (free) and a wooden duckboard to stand on when you step out of the shower. They were all exceptionally clean apart from the cobwebs on the light fitting, so don't look up. Very thoughtfully provided with hooks on the doors and shelf space for your washbag. The loo cubicles are large so you can take children in with you if you need to - other campsite owners please take note. And there was plenty of loo paper. There is also a family bathroom containing a loo, washbasin, bath and double shower cubicle, which is also equipped for disable campers, including a seat in the shower. I haven't seen better facilities anywhere.
There is also a large, outdoor, covered shower for wetsuit-users.
Laundry
There is a washing machine, a tumble drier, laundry baskets, a rotary washing line and pegs.
Dishwashing
There are 2 large stainless steel sinks with draining boards, under cover. There was also washing-up liquid sometimes but I think other campers knicked it.
Ball Games
There is a large, flat area for ball games which is separate from the camping area, divided only by the roadway so that anxious parents can watch their children from a distance. Lovely. What a shame that the children camping near us didn't use it.
Reception
The people at reception were very helpful and friendly, both before we arrived and while we were there. There is a small shop and you can order a newspaper to collect from them in the morning. We could also have ordered breakfast, but we didn't try it so can't honestly review it.
Freezer
There is a freezer for campers to use in the laundry room. Great for your ice blocks.
Wifi
Yes, it's available, but it's not free of charge, so we didn't use it.
Nearby
Only ten minutes' drive to Tesco and Morrisons at Holyhead, but you really feel that you are away from it all here. Beautiful Porthdafarch beach within walking distance (if you can cope with the walk back up the hill afterwards), other beaches and the coastal path within easy reach.
Go and stay there. It's lovely.
