We stayed on this site for 3 nights at the end of August. The owner and staff were friendly and the breakfast we had on the last morning was lovely. This is a large site that appears to cater mostly for caravans (most pitches have electric hook-up) and some tents. We weren't allowed to pick our own pitch, and we were put in a field with caravans (the owner said that the field with the tents in was overflowing).
Plus Points:
Own drinking water supply on pitch
Electric Hook-up if needed
Free ice pack freezer
Free Showers
Free hairdryer in shower block
Great Views
Friendly staff and owner
Level and stone free pitch for tent
Negative Points:
Couldn’t choose pitch so we were left very exposed to the high winds on the last night, 2 poles were damaged on the tent so I wouldn’t use this site in a tent unless the weather report is good!
Noise levels were high on Friday and Saturday nights due to Fish & Chips and Barbecue nights (we were also kept up until 2:00am by inconsiderate and very noisy neighbours one night)
As the majority of the campers were in caravans they stayed up later than us (as we were in a tent we tend to go to bed quite early) and therefore contributed to the noise level
Pitch very close to the toilet/shower block, washing up area and bins, so again lots of noise at night
Inadequate number of toilets/showers as mentioned by previous reviewers (2 toilets and 2 showers in ladies and men’s) I am reliably informed by my husband that the men’s block was not kept clean
The surrounding area had plenty to do, Holyhead and Trearddur Bay both very close by. South Stack within cycling distance and well worth a visit (the RSPB staff were great!). Great little beach within walking distance, and other attractions on Anglesey too; Sea Zoo, Beaumaris Jail and Castle, Model Village etc.

This was our third visit to the site, I must say that they have always been friendly and very helpful on your arrival. The only let down is the shower facilities, they just can't accommodate the volume of campers on the site. I really do hope they update the facilities in the near future, because the views are fantastic and Richard and family are very welcoming. I love the place but look forward to the quieter times. Please don't let this put you off visiting, it's a lovely site, with a lovely warm atmosphere.

When we visited this camp site it was very windy and exposed. The pitches were nicely spaced. The ground was also sodden which put us off a bit but the main down side was the toilet and shower block - clean but a little inadequate for a site this size - although they have topped up with a few portloos. Not very pretty but useful if you're desperate.
The little cove and beach nearby was great for the kids and only a short walk. South Stack is also spectacular - and the folks at the little RSPB centre will help you spot the wildlife with their telescopes.

Stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of July 2008. For most of the year the site is made up of a number of small fields, all overlooking the sea and with electric hook ups. For a very limited period (busy periods) the site is allowed to open up quite a large field with no hook ups and for tents only. We stayed on this field with plenty of room and still had some magnificent views. The owner has only been here 18 months and the progress is obvious.
Plus Points -
Quiet site and the owner is very friendly and helpful and nothing seems to be a problem for him. Magnificent panoramic views. Non regimented, we were allowed to pick our own spot to pitch. Allowed to take our dog and happy to see that dogs were restricted to lead at all times.
Negative Points -
Only the facilities, with just one small toilet/shower block which although relatively new was already outdated. Separate mens and ladies section with only 2 sinks, 2 toilets and 2 showers in each section. I am sure the owner is aware of the problem as he has installed 4 portaloos.
Information -
This site is on a headland so is open to strong winds. Would advise you have some storm pegs just in case. No playground. Nice small beach 6/10th mile. Nearest pub about 2 miles. Cooked breakfast, barbecue nights, fish and chips nights. On site shop limited to soft drinks and ice cream but large supermarkets in Holyhead (about 4 miles) and smaller general stores in Treadour bay about 2.5 miles. Expect to be entertained by aircraft from RAF Valley.
Give this site a try but just be aware of the limited toilet facilities.

What a great site this was,the owners were so helpful, they couldnt do enough for you, they would always stop and chat etc. it also has a b&b, which friends of our party stayed in, they said rooms were excellent, breakfasts to die for and a great choice. If you didnt want to cook breakfast in your van or tent then tell them the day before and go and have a full welsh breakfast for £4.95. Friday nights is fish n chips night very nice indeed £6.95 saturdays was barbeque night£10. Most pitches have a sea view, the site is well laid out. Its a great base for exploring the island, nice walks as well, south stack lighthouse is close by. There is a nice walk close by, walk out the site and turn right then take first right and follow walk signs it takes you right down to the coastal cliffs. My only small downside is the toilets, they were very clean plenty of hooks etc, but only 2 loos and 2 showers, I know us caravaners have our own loos but most of us use on camp facilities, I did have to queue for a loo. These new owners have only been there a year,so lets hope they extend the loo block and concrete the area around it as its all loose stone. But apart from that small gripe these new owners are so pleasant and friendly, as is all the staff we met, will be going back here each year from now on. Its not often you find a site like this, it makes your stay more pleasant. A nice place to eat out is a bar/hotel called the anchorage, go out of site straight down to trearddur, turn right at junction, it's about a mile and half on right side. Nice meals good prices.

A nice friendly site with great views from many of the pitches. The breakfasts and the Friday night fish & chips all cooked by Nigel, who is a chef, are to be recommended.
From the site there is easy access to the coastal path with a walk to South Stack lighthouse of about 3 miles.
Nearby, Holyhead and Trearddur Bay are not very interesting but there is plenty to do and see further afield on Anglesey. We spent much of one day at the National Trust property of Plas Newydd, the home of Lord Anglesey.

We stayed for 2 nights on this small and very pleasant site near Porth Dafarch as a party of 2 adults 2 children in a large tent.
The site covers 3/4 smallish fields and all appear reasonably level; the one we camped in was sheltered by 2 rocky outcrops. The views over the sea from the site are beautiful. The site is free from static vans.
The toilets etc are newly built, clean and free to use. The outdoor shower is a nice touch usually only found on the continent. My only worry was that there are only 2 loos/2 showers for both sexes - however we never had a wait to use them.
The owner is a most personable chap, very helpful and efficient. He offered us a choice of pitches and the large size of our tent was not a problem. All in all a good well-run site.
Treaddur Bay town is not very pretty but the shops open late (selling alcopops to bored local kids). The beaches nearby and the coastline are very beautiful; ideal for walking, kayaking and relaxing.

This was our first weekend in our new campervan. We arrived on a very bad weekend, very windy and wet. Needless to say we slid up the hill and left the van there. We walked 2 and a half miles to a local shop and then returned back. We all found it quite funny until we were awake at 2am in the morning by the bad wind. It was blowing awnings down and was a nightmare. We had to take the Bongo Auto Roof Top down and that meant there was 6 of us and 3 dogs in the bottom of a campervan.
The next morning we woke up tired but still in the spirit of things. We wondered to the Cafe at the campsite to have the most amazing breakfast. The owners were friendly and the food was to die for, you could even have take away. The toast came with little pots of jam a real treat after a bad night. Would return again but check the weather! The facilities were new and clean. I did only notice those showers and toilets which didn't seem very many. But was ok, but I can imagine summer being a queue for the toilets and showers.
