Good little site. We stayed for 4 nights before the bank holiday rush so was only about a third full. Pitches pretty level but limited EHU pitches. Little playground for kids nothing special but kept mine happy enough. Even had a volleyball/badminton net up to help keep them busy.

Toilet block, as mentioned before, is small only 2 toilets and 1 shower for each sex. 50p honesty box for shower which is a proper shower with a hose, which I very much prefer. Light timers are a bit short so if you go at night for anything longer than a quick number 1 take a torch or a friend to push the light for you. Also could be cleaner especially the showers, dirty around the edges and drain in ladies full of hair. Also a few spiders.

Had the home made sausage and eggs which were delicious unfortunately they were short on bacon so couldn't buy any off them.

Kids got to feed the pigs and chickens which they loved but, even when I asked they didn't come to see me for the kids to help collect the eggs. I will say though they did have a bit of a personal crisis while I was there so they were preoccupied somewhat. If Tim and Karen read this hope all is well now.

I didn't visit the surrounding area but nearest supermarket is 6 miles away so make sure you're well equipped for the first night and morning.

You also have to remember it is a working dairy farm so farm noise is to be expected but that didn't bother us in the slightest.

All in all a good site for the kids and adults with fire pits allowed. £6 for a barrow of wood is a bit expensive for some lumps of pine and hardboard. Which burns quite quickly.

I will definitely be returning though.

Well where to start? after a nice drive from Bristol we arrive to some lovely sunny weather we being myself, wife, toddler and black Labrador.

Pull onto the site and your met with a fantastic view across the hills and possibly one of the nicest welcomes I have ever had.

Tim the farmer couldn't have been more helpful friendly and happy to help. Now the tent is up but the view is quickly vanishing with more and more tents arriving by the hour.

So to check out the amenities, only 1 shower for each sex, plus 1 wash basin each and only 2 toilets. Now as I mentioned this was an extremely busy weekend and I felt that the owners were a little overwhelmed with the numbers that arrived and the these were the areas that suffered. With all of us keeping our shoes on in the shower.

Each night you can light a fire in one of the portable pits which is a smashing thing for the kids and dads alike. But pallet wood for them is £6 a time and a little expensive. My little boy loved the experience of seeing all the animals and seeing how a farm works. Tim sells home made sausages and they rock!

For a really good meal go just down the road to the Kings head. Note it looks a little run down from outside and we nearly chose to go elsewhere. But boy I was glad we didn't a really great meal (ribs in bbq sauce) good size meal and reasonable price, , give it a go!

Back to the site, although a little cramped when busy it really is a smashing site with nice size flat pitches with electric hook up, friendly owners and fantastic views.

On the down side the toilet block really does need to get up to speed at only £18 a night with electric its a bargain. Tim your a great host charge a little more and invest in the site its a winner and would I recommend it? yes I would! oh just been reminded the play area needs an update too!

We will be back.

We have used this site a couple of times this year working our way down south via the A roads.

It was reasonably priced, fairly small, level, well maintained, family atmosphere and the owners were pleasant. There is a small kids park and a tennis net.

Fishing lake was short walk away and nice views of the hills. Alot busier obviously in august than june.

My only gripe would be that the hook ups where all turned off at midnight on our second visit, which I have never come across before. We hadn't arrived at the site until 8pm, left next am but were still charged full price

Stayed with our 2 young children (4 & 1) and several other families on the August Bank Holiday. One of the best sites we've been to - perfect for the kids as loads to do and is a great advert for british farming. This is old style camping as I remember it growing up. Farmer Tim is clearly enthusiastic about making you welcome and he organised:

Farm Visit on the tractor (trailer)
Feeding the calves
Collecting the eggs
Big tarpaulin water slide (which the kids absolutely loved)
Samples of his happy pig sausages

Nice little play area for the kids. Plenty for them to do. Fire pits are great.

We didn't really go anywhere during our 4 day stay (other than to Croft Castle) as there was plenty to keep the kids entertained and the adults to chill out.

Yes, facilities are small but we never had any issues. Supplies always topped up (toilet roll, clean towels, soap etc).

I think some people did take liberties with the shower honesty box - at 50P a go, it wasn't exactly a fortune.

The little touches make the difference on this site and we will definitely be returning.

Spent 3 days at Nicholson Farm a couple of weeks ago with Tim and Karen who were the perfect hosts.

The campsite is brilliant with everything you could want for a quiet weekend away, The shower facilities were clean and tidy, Nice touch with the Honesty box @ 50p a shower which is well worth it for a nice hot shower with toilet paper and hand soap supplied in the toilets.

Wash up is right next to the shower block and a short walk from all of the pitches, Don’t bother bringing Eggs and Milk as these are available from the farm house at very reasonable prices as well as Bacon, Sausages and some Veg ( might be worth dropping Tim a mail checking what's available before you set-off, I’m going to order before we arrive next time )support your local farmer and stock up when you get there.

None of this no fat milk business either it had layers on the top just like it's supposed to have ! We had 3 jugs of milk in as many day's and still took a few bottles home with a couple of dozen lovely egg's. ( Take some plastic bottles and egg tray's for the trip home, I had to hog Tim's jug all weekend as we didn’t take anything to put the milk in ! )

My 2 year old Daughter loved feeding the chickens and walking about looking at the cow's and pig’s, the farm tour was educational and showed most of the surrounding area sitting in a trailer being towed by Tim and his tractor as well as the neighbours farms and sheep, a walk through the dairy and an update on the state of the UK Dairy Industry was informative and then a look and touch with the new-born calves, @ £2 a ride it was worth every penny and most importantly kept the little one's entertained.

We got a fire basket from Tim and had a couple of barrows of firewood @ £ 6 a barrow which was nice as the weather was not great and we sat up quite late every night next to the fire having a few drinks and catching up with the group of family and friends that joined us for the weekend.

Plenty of space for the kid's to run around and play.

There were a few people and Kid's up till late but no loud noise to keep anyone awake.

Great little place, friendly owners and campers as well as great value for money we will definitely be back.

Nice compact site where the tents aren't packed too close to each other. The site is on two levels which helps to segregate the pitches. The small playground acts as a hub for the children to meet which was nice.

The toilets were clean but the shower (blokes) wasn't. Twice we were told by Tim the owner that the shower had an honesty box which was almost empty. It was said in a way which made us feel like criminals despite the fact that the shower should be included in the pitch price (in my opinion).

Overall it was a nice site with stunning views but we weren't made to feel particularly welcome which sadly contradicts the other reviews on this site.

Just back from a few days at this beautiful site. If you are looking for somewhere quiet, stunning, friendly and interesting, this should suit you as well as it does us.

My children loved the play area and made loads of friends. My 5 year old loved visiting the cows and pigs and feeding the chickens. The site was a perfect size for her to be safe exploring on her own, and not too big to get lost in. My older child played with the farm dogs for most of the time. I did not see the dogs 'messing' anywhere or any evidence that they had.

The site was quite crowded, as it was bank holiday, but I did not have to wait to shower or wash up, and there was always hot water. Tim was so helpful and was often visible around the site. We bought eggs and sausages which were lovely. Lots of people bought a barrow of logs and had fires in the evenings - we did not, but they looked great. It was quite windy one day, but as the field has been terraced to level it, and we were pitched against the bank, it stayed fairly sheltered.

We went on a trailer ride around some of the farm fields with Tim, to see lambs, and the stunning views, £1 per adult, kids free. Well worth it. We meant to watch milking, but were out in the afternoons and fast asleep in the mornings! We visited Croft Castle, Berrington Hall, Brockhampton Estate - all great days out. The Kings Head, just down the road, is great for a meal out.

If you want your kids to see a bit of farm life, to wake up in the morning to amazing views, to toast marshmallows around a fire at night, this could become your favourite site. It is definitely now ours! Many thanks Tim and Karen for a fantastic holiday - we will be back.

This is a fantastic camp site. Absolutely stunning setting, great pitches, fab facilities.

The pitches are on the edge of a natural bowl, with a lake at the bottom. The land has been levelled to make the pitches pretty flat. There is a nice little kids play area just by the tents, which is handy, and a big communal barbecue as well as smaller fire pits that you can move to your own area. Logs are £5 a barrow load.

Plenty of shops (large and small Co-ops) 5-10 mins drive away in Bromyard. Bikes are available to hire (tho we didn't hire them, personally)

But best of all is the farmer, Tim, who bends over backwards to make you feel at home and make sure you have everything you need - all while running a busy dairy farm, that he's more than happy to show you round. He loves kids too. There are chickens, pigs, lambs as well as cattle, and Tim will take you to see them, let you collect eggs and so on - all very educational for the childrenn.

We had a wonderful time there, and will definitely try and go back.

We visited this campsite for May bank holiday, there were 24 units on site. It is a single field (although for the bank holiday weekend they were using the large farm house garden lawn as an overflow field) with almost level pitches right next door to the working farm.

It is situated well away from the road down a long drive, there are some excellent views from the campsite and particularly the top of the drive.

The W/C and shower facilities were clean but very limited in size and number, with hot water running out at times. They are free, but there is a 50p honesty box in both the 1 male and 1 female shower.

The owners were friendly and approachable, making you feel welcome. The home made sausage's were delicious, the tractor & trailer guided tour around the farm lasted about an hour and was enjoyed by grown ups and kids and was followed by a tour around the farm yard to see the different animals. Being able to have a camp fire was an added bonus, although $6 for a broken up pallet for fire wood was a little pricey.

This is a family site, with lots of children making noise, there did not appear to be a curfew on noise and there were kids making a lot of noise, running around and riding bikes up to and after midnight, as well as guitar playing, laughing and general chit chat. If you are looking for a quite site this may not be the place for you!

Our only critical comment is the size of pitches, we were very closely packed in with a maximum of 2 foot between us and the next unit on one sides and 3 foot on the other side. With about 3 foot from our front door to the 'road' through the field and a hedge directly behind us we were very tightly boxed in, this was very disappointing. This spoilt what otherwise was a good if rather noisy campsite.

This is a great family site in an ideal location to visit many attractions near by and very dog friendly.

The farmer has just done some work on the toilet and shower block to improve them and being in the trade myself I can say that he hasn't done a bad job.

They are lovely owners and they cannot do enough for you, always happy to help put your awning up etc, and loves educating your kids on the farming way of life.

We have been twice now and will be going back many more times
