This is a great little site if you want to get away from the more commercial type of site. It sits just behind a working farm with the most superb views over the valley that you could wish for.
Tim and Karen are excellent hosts and nothing is to much trouble for them. This year they have increased and improved the toilet facilities which is a good move and re-seeded the field.
They allow dogs which suits us fine because we've got a black Labrador who just loves it here especially being able to take a dip in the fishing pool at the bottom of the hill when no-one is fishing.
Talking of fishing, the small ones (rudd, roach and perch) are a doddle to catch but there are some larger carp who are quite a bit cuter if you fancy a challenge!
Tim and Karen sell their own eggs and sausage which are delicious and just the way to start the day at this lovely site. The pub down the road is lovely. Just a pity it's not a little bit closer but if you are lucky and he's not busy Tim will even offer to take or fetch you. Now that's what I call service! Great. We will return over the course of summer 2010

This is a gem of a site! Just returned home from our second visit in as many weeks. Hospitality is smack on for our liking; polite chat without the interference or ignorance usually found on commercial sites. Farmer Tim and family are down to earth people, all of which are great with the kids.
Best described as tranquillity coupled with real life farming. This is a working farm so farmyard machinery, animals and animal smells are to be expected.
We can be quite over protective with our little ones but here they've got freedom to roam free safe and sound whilst enjoying the surroundings and learning about farm animals.
Compared with big posh commercial sites, the toilets and shower facilities are basic but they meet our requirements no problem; even with 5 kids.
A fantastic little site we'll definitely revisit again and again.

We were made aware of Nicolson Farm whilst having a meal at the nearby Kings Head Pub relatively late on a Saturday evening. On contacting Tim, he was very helpful and friendly, directing us to the Farm where we were shown to the newly hardcored pitch overlooking the lake.
A compact site, set in an idyllic rural location, it was completely worthy of the recommendation. Unfortunately we only had time for an overnight stay so we'll have to return to make the most of the beautiful countryside. Yes, the ablutions are a little basic, however as previous reviews have stated, action is in hand to make improvements before the start of the 2010 season.
Our little white dog was in his element playing with the children camping on the adjacent pitches, as well as the resident Farm Dogs, who were very friendly, just like their owners. We just might return this week before word spreads!

Good little site - stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed the area around - plenty to see and do. Smashing outlook from the tent in the morning. Very rural so expect the odd moo or coo. Apparently milking starts at 3.00am. Is there such a time? On site fishing lake if that's your thing. Showers/ toilets small but adequate. Pitches not entirely level but owner very helpful and friendly.

In short this is one of the very best camp sites we have visited. The camp site itself presented a great balance between rustic simplicity (as we believe camping should be) and modern camping comfort (electric hook ups available, small play area and washing up area). The site is a haven of tranquillity, located in rural isolation, though within a few minutes from an excellent family friendly pub - purveyors of good food and real ales - and larger towns (Leominster etc) with all their associated amenities.
Some may consider this a campsite too rustic as washing facilities are limited to two toilets and one shower (with free hot water). However, we found that for such a small site this was perfectly adequate. Furthermore, the owner informed us that applications have been made to extend the facilities in the near future. On the subject of the owner, we would like to point out that he was extremely helpful, friendly and generally a fantastic host – nothing was too much trouble.
We will certainly be returning in the near future – plans are already underfoot!

With a few little tweaks this will be a really good site.
The views are lovely, plenty of cows/calves about to stroke, helpful owner, free range eggs and own farm milk available, small area of play equipment.Small site so quite peaceful, plenty of hook ups and cold water nearby
The BIG downside is that we found the 2 very friendly farm dogs would visit the campsite regularly, they loved a ball being thrown and would run, collect it and return again and again. These dogs obviously 'POO' when required so the site is littered with this poo over areas where the children play. When your child comes back after rolling in it you suddenly realize this is Yuk. Each morning we found a wet patch at on corner of our tent where the dogs started to pee! We have dogs and are responsible owners, carry poo bags and clean up after our dogs
The 2 toilets and shower are adequate if a little small, but there is no mirror, and no soap or towels provided in hand basin. The block although checked daily by owners did not ever get mopped out/sanitised (don't look behind the door in shower room)
Strangely there are 2 showers in the small shower room why they have not removed the non functioning one I do not know?
There are 2 sinks for washing up with loads of hot/cold water but could do with this area covered and an area provided to place the cleaned plates etc.
If these items were addressed then would love to return

Just spent a wonderful weekend at this site, it only takes a few units which is great as it remains very peaceful. Facilities include two toilets and one shower, plenty for the number of people there, however a new toilet block will be built soon I'm told. Fresh milk is available from the owner, almost straight from the cows! The views from each pitch are superb, you can see the buzzards flying, do a spot of fishing in the lake and walk through the fields surrounding the site. Lovely pub just down the road, didn't eat there but the food smelt divine, great play area for the kids in the garden. Would definitely stay here again and reccommend it to others.

Tim and Karen welcomed us on site as we only just booked earlier in the week by e mail and phone and told us all we needed to now.
The site was just what we wanted peace and quite with a stunning view across the hillside.
Electric point and water with elsen was all that we needed but there was more to offer if we needed them.
Leominster was just a few miles with ludlow further down the road which we totally enjoyed.
We will soon be back to enjoy what the country side has to offer as we only scratched the surface of this ideal spot.

Best views ever in our extensive camping experience, to die for. Site was nice and flat and well maintained, nothing was too much trouble for the super friendly owners. Ice packs, milk, etc. Shower and toilet facilities adequate for our needs, large washing up area with plenty of hot water. Large BBQ and small children's play area if required.
Local pub the Kings Arms provided superb food, Leominster and Bromyard just a few miles away and road links to larger towns from these.

We stayed at Nicholson Farm for a couple of nights in May and found it beautiful, peaceful and very relaxing.
The views from the site were especially lovely overlooking the fishing lake.
Tim and Karen were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble.
Although there were a number of tents and caravans we found the toilets and shower sufficient for us. There is a sink provided with H&C for washing up and a communal barbecue if you wanted to use it. There is a good strong swing for children and Tim will take accompanied children around the farm to see the baby animals and milking. The farm dogs are very friendly and are happy to play with any visiting dogs on the site.
We will definitely be making another trip.
