Lovely campsite and owners are very helpful. Right by the steam railway, if you have never travelled or seen one, this site is a must for you, really had a great break away from it all.
Even all the locals are very friendly too,
Great for walks but best of all I shared all this with my lovely girlfriend. Would go back again.
Even so the site has no showers, toilets are spotless n checked regularly. With hot water as well

This is our 1st review! New motorhome and this was our maiden campsite visit. Chosen as it was close to home, 1 hour away in some beautiful countryside.
Facilities were clean and regularly checked, shame no showers, but not that we needed them!
A pub (the grouse inn) just over the river, 300m's away had reasonable food and seemed busy and friendly.
Ideal location for walking up in the hills either side of the A5.

Site is situated right next to the steam railway, a bit back from the main A5 so no road noise just the odd train and they stop by 5pm.
There are 3 fields, main one seemed to be for motorhomes and caravans, another very large field across the lane which was busy with tents and campervans and a third smaller field for tents on which cars and dogs are not allowed.
As previous reviews have said no showers, 4 toilets built in the barn - kept very clean despite site being busy. Believe there is a further couple of toilets on the big campig field.
There is a fresh water point outside the barn along with a washing up sink and recycling facilities. An Elsan point on the main field too.
The site was busy but very peaceful, no noise in the evening despite one of the hotest weekends of the year.
£10 for a campervan + £3 for ehu - bargain. Would recommend this site for a couple of days as plenty to see and do in the area.

What a gem! spent one night here right next to the river. The site sits on both sides of the lane. A few hook ups on either side but plenty of camping space for those happy in lantern light and absence of TV.
The wide open space in a field with a basic toilet block was barely full and we managed to find a secluded spot beside a gorgeous old Oak. Very charming to hear the sounds of the steam trains stopping at the station.
Just a five minute walk to the Grouse pub. V. Friendly staff and a decent menu served to 10pm. Dogs welcome and children. Great beer. The pub is tiny but has a generous outdoor area for larger groups.
The very best pitch in the pub is to be sat in the little bay window looking over the valley. Even in the drizzle the view is special. As if someone has turned up the green in the picture.
The staff were casual and friendly and a nice neat little set up. Ideal for walkers or those that like the big outdoors even in the rain.

The location is a walkers paradise. There are four toilets in all, including two disabled toilets. No showers but ok if you are in a caravan and have your own shower.
Camping field for tents no cars or dogs allowed in this section.
My only complaint is that one regular caravanner seems to think that the middle section of the campsite is her dogs own personal toilet! even when there were tents and caravans pitched there.
Twice a day she took her dog to the middle and let it foul, granted she did pick it up but I do not think this is acceptable so because of this
I would not return, which is a shame because it`s in a great location.

Small rustic farm site, view of cows in a shed, short walk to the pub, The Pheasant which is very basic inside, more like a cafe than a pub due to 2 rooms with cafe like tables, meal was very nice I had trout. It does have an outdoor area overlooking the river.
Carrog station is a footstep away, great selection of steam and diesel trains, lovely cafe with an open fire and a shop in a train carriage, it's like going back in time!
There are various trains one to LLangollen. Hook up, toilets basic. Nice outdoor feeling with the surrounding country,
Will be returning in summer as unfortunately is was rather gloomy weather,
It's not a huge site so whether it would be booked solid in summer remains to be seen!
Not a great site for children mostly older couples.

A really lovely site - no showers but the toilets are kept extremely clean even when the site is busy.
We spent 12 nights on the site and didn't want to go home! Lovely walks and the steam train into Llangollen is great.
Local pub serves adequate food but the butchers in nearby Corwen is very good.
We had the best eggs ever from there (nearly all double yolks!).
Also a nearby farm shop - bit expensive but is ok. Will certainly be back soon!

Been coming here for about 4 or 5 yrars now with quite a few friends. One of the best sites I've been on, the people who run it are lovely and the farmer is great as long as you're not rowdy and stick to the site rules.
Don't really worry about showers etc as whats the point in camping. Toilets are always clean. Just an overall great site. Plenty of places to walk and not far from the nearest village and there's a good pub by the river

This site is in a lovely situation along the banks of the River Dee halfway between Llangollen and Corwen, and just off the A5.
The plus points: Back to basics camping in a large field (if you don't have EHU), with loads of room for kids to play. Though the weather was exceptionally good for April and it was Easter weekend, there was plenty of space. The scenery is lovely, and there is a short picturesque walk across the river over a lovely bridge to the village. Here, the pub had a great terrace overlooking the river below. I enjoyed this site a lot. However, my partner and friends did not.
The minus points: Overpriced at £14 a night, seeing as there was only a tiny toilet block, no showers.
Signs forbidding you from burning wood - we could have done with a fire (contained within our barbecue and not damaging the grass) in the cold evenings.
Noisy groups of young people who drove their cars around the site and left lots of litter. Some youngsters got thrown off late at night for being noisy - but I dread to think about any of them were fit to drive cars after all the drinking. Perhaps it would be wiser to not let such groups camp there in the first place instead of waiting for the complaints to flood in.
Sadly my partner & friends do not want to return, but I would because I thought it was very pretty, and my little boy made some great playmates.

For a change Degsy and I took the tent instead of using our lovely caravan.
We used this site as it was close to water and great for canoeing. The site is quiet and clean and the facilities were very basic but clean. There are no showers so I would not use this site for longer than a weekend because of it.
It was very cheap and we had electric hook up.
Would use this site again.
