July 2004 Lovely site, basic facilities but extremely clean and well looked after, had everything we wanted.... beautiful scenery, peace and quiet and fantastic value for money... Kids loved the hens, horse and cows. Mum and dad not too keen on milking generator early in morning but you soon got used to it and it didnt bother us after a couple of days.
Pitch on a bit of a slope, not really a problem just kids found it a bit awkward sleeping at first.
Excellent butchers and shop in Glaisdale, also pubs serve nice meals. Milk and butter fridge which was really useful and came in handy.
Mr. Mrs. Mortimer, excellent hosts!!!
Showers - 25p Unlimited time Wash up water - Free - Hot all the time, everytime. Toilets and Showers - spotless, not matter what time of day it was.
Weather could of been a little kinder to us but shall definitely return!!!

June 2004 This camp is lovely, quiet and a small site, the wash rooms are kept clean and tidy, though very basic. The owners are very friendly as are the other visiters. Children friendly site as there is a small area with swings and a slide but they can enjoy the freedom to roam the farm safely. We've been there twice and are sure to return as my family love it.

May 04 A very pretty site. The site is basic but clean and the owners very friendly and helpful. We will be visiting again but next time we will be requesting the bottom field to pitch in as that field is much flatter and the toilet in that field much nicer.

June 2004 This will be our third visit to this site (on the insistance of our kids - they wanted to wake up to birds singing and cows mooing). The site is basic - showering in a shed is an art form - but it is clean and tidy. The views are just brilliant. It's perfect for walking in the moors, days out in Whitby and Scarborough or for a bit of history in Pickering and Helmsley. The price is very reasonable and cooked breakfasts are available in the farm house for an extra cost. They also sell new laid eggs. If you like your creature comforts, on site entertainment, bars and restuarants then this is not for you, but if you like basic camping, fresh air, the sounds of nature, looking for shooting stars on pitch black nights, then this is the place for you, Enjoy.

april 2004 A very lovely site indeed. It is on a farm owned by a very nice couple. They have three fields in all. One which you can have fires in and another 2 which you cannot so if you dont like fires then just pitch in 1 of the other 2 fields. There is a swing and a slide but we never actually saw a pond. The other facilities are as above but still quite pleasant. We went as a party of three tents and had a field to ourselves as it was just as the warm weather was getting here. The field we stayed in was wonderful with superb grass. It also had a toilet in the field, once the door was shut you could forget it was in a field as it is nicely tiled and clean. Also the cheapest site I have ever been to £2 per night per adult and £1 per night per child and £1 for your car. Ideal if you want a quiet and relaxing time. We will be back soon we cant wait till our next visit.

August 2003 We visited as a party of 8 adults and 10 children, and had a great weekend going back to basics. The site location is so breathtaking and very peaceful (even with 10 kids)and the owners keep the pitches very neat. The facilities although very basic were kept clean. The toilets (3 in total) consisted of 1 in a shed, 1 like the bottom of you garden(the old netty), and one in the farmhouse (which had the farmers false teeth in.) The showers (1 in the shed, 1 in the washing up area and 1 in the farmhouse) were basic and be aware there is an extra charge for showers. If you like privacy whilst showering and washing forget it! There is a swing, slide and sand pit however the ponds in the childrens play area, will mean you have to keep an eye on the kids If you like peace, walking and real camping this is a must.

August 2003 This was my first camping trip for more than 30 years and my 8 year old sons first trip. He wants to know when we are going again as the site is kid friendly. The site is basic but very clean with toilets, showers, milk & butter fridge, TV/games room and play area for the kids and a more than useful open barn for drying your washing. The site was full to the brim this weekend and I did not hear a bad word from any of the other campers during my 6 day stay. If you want a plastic commercial camp site don't go to Hollins Farm. If you enjoy true camping head straight here and you won't be disappointed. Glaisdale may be a small village but it has 3 pubs, a railway station, a quality butchers and a well stocked village shop, and a nearby farm selling organic vegetables. Glaisdale is located in the North Yorks Moors National Park close to the North Yorks Moor Railway and Whitby, Sandsend and Robin Hoods Bay are only 15-20 minutes drive away and it is very good walking country. The nightlife is very good if you like stars, owls and bats. We did. The dawn chorus consists of birds and cattle.

July2003 As first time campers with children I found the campsite friendly ,welcoming and clean .The facilities although basic offered everything that we required. The site immaculately kept and very peaceful set in the most tranquil surroundings . The most useful thing on the site was a large roofed open sided barn that we used to cook and eat under when it rained !! What a clever idea to keep it on the site and something I havent come across before! We shall certainly be going back to stay there again and again and would recommend it to anyone young or old .Thank-you from Louise,B,Jade,Chloe and Sharon.

April 2003 What a great site!! The owners really make you feel at home. Plenty of walking nearby, and other places to visit. Campsite really, really clean. Breakfast 5***** and you can even get a wake up call to make sure you are up!! Price for pitch and breakfast just under £5.00 each!! Other campers who were there at same time have been going year after year. Will visit again!!!
