This was our second visit here, last time in August 2010.

Toilets are very clean and only waited a short time for a shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Was very quiet when we arrived, was busier by Saturday afternoon.

Unlike last time, we could find seating at the Smugglers Inn pub, small play park there, kids enjoyed it. Seemed very busy. Did not look at menu's as just popped down for an evening drink.

Took a visit to Weymouth. Caution, at present there are major roadworks for the hosting of the Sailing at the 2012 event.

Went to Lulworth Cove and listened to the Royal wedding, lovely and warm and a great setting.

On way home, we went to a very windy Studland. Owned by the NT, the car park is chargeable.

Will visit again!

Staff were all very friendly. The shop was well stocked with food and the other bits you forget to pack. All amenities were clean whenever we went to use them. The park was very easy to find. The location was very convenient. The part of the campsite we were in had a fabulous view looking out over the bay. The pub nearby did fantastic food and local beer.

What a lovely camp site. Nice location and great views of the bay.

We emailed before we went and they responded promptly.

The shop / reception is well stocked and the staff friendly and welcoming. The site is clean and had plenty of space and felt safe and family friendly. Children can run around without bothering anyone too much. The toilet block at the bottom of the site is clean and tidy. The one at the top end seemed a bit tired, but clean.

The bins are emptied daily and plenty of them, a few lids would have been helpful to keep the wasps away, but as we camped away from them not a big issue.

The playground is a bit small and is ok for small children. Older children have to make their own entertainment.

We visited the Smugglers inn accessed from the site either by a walk out of main entrance and down the road or via track way at the bottom of the site which can be slippery if it has been raining, and a short walk down the road. We had main meal here and whilst the food was very good I felt the portions were a bit small, but then I,m a man who enjoys his food.

Parking in Weymouth can be a little expensive for a whole day, so we thought we would walk to the bus stop at the end of the lane. If you do this allow yourself a bit of extra time as there is no pavement and you have to allow vehicles to pass can be a little busy with everyone leaving for days out etc. Some blind corners so if you have children take care.

I feel this site will become a regular weekend stop as it is only an hour away and some great places to visit nearby.

Myself and two teenagers (15 & 16yrs old) spent 4 nights here (Mon to Fri). The weather, unfortunately, was pretty awful on two days. 24hrs of heavy rain, on top of heavy rain the week before we arrived was not nice! The site itself was fine.

As mentioned by previous reviewers there are some fairly steep slopes on parts of the site. We managed to pitch on a flat bit! Pitch allocation is wherever you choose. For non EHU. Spacing between units was plentiful. Plenty of waste bins, water points etc around the site.

Toilets were lovely and clean. Never had to queue. Plenty of hot water in showers. If I had to criticise, and it's only a minor point, The water saver buttons in the shower could do with allowing a little longer time before having to reset them.

The pub on the cliff top just off the bottom of the site is lovely and well worth a visit. It's literally only 10 minutes walk from the site. Beer prices were more expensive than 'up North!' but a lovely place all the same.

On site shop sells plenty of 'basic essentials'.Bread, milk, papers, gas, tent pegs etc.

Don't bother taking your ice packs. They don't allow you to freeze your own. They are for hire.£1 deposit (refundable on return of ice pack) per ice pack and 20p per pack (non refundable).

There are plenty of places to visit in the area.Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Castle, Bovington Tank museum to name but a few.

All in all an enjoyable stay.

We had an enjoyable, albeit rather wet and windy stay at Rosewall. The site boasts a fabulous location with stunning sea views on a clear day. The site is thoughtfully laid out with good and very clean facilities at the top and bottom of the site.

Pitches are unmarked but there is plenty of space for all. Although the site is on a slope there are plenty of 'mostly level' areas for pitching your tent, some benefiting from hedges which offer a little extra protection on windier days of which we had several!

If you are in need of provisions there are shops within a short drive of the site, however there is also a well stocked shop on site which also sells an assortment of freshly baked goods. Rosewall is family friendly and has a nice playground for younger children.

There are stables for horse riding and a fishing lake nearby. There is also a lovely pub called the Smugglers Inn just 5 minutes from the site which serves fabulous food at a reasonable price.

A fantastic site - what a find. The site is well maintained and the owners and staff are very friendly. There are fantastic views of the sea, although the site is very sloped in places. Toilets are kept clean, there are facilities at both the bottom and top of the site, the ones at the top are slightly better - they have shower curtains. There is a well stocked shop and also a children's playground. The site is ideally situated for walking on the coastal path. The nearest pub is the only local and therefore is very popular, so if ordering food, be prepared to wait at peak hours/days. There can be a strong breeze coming from the sea and I would recommend pitching behind the trees which act as a good windbreak. There is a laundry which has 2 washing machines and 2 driers. 40 mins in the drier does a whole wash bone dry. A beautiful site, well maintained and we will be returning hopefully next year sometime.

Feel obliged to review this site after my Sister stayed there in our (seven year) old tent. We tested it, and seam sealed it before they went, and we stayed in a caravan at the Haven site two miles down the road.

After one night my sister and her clan joined us because it was lashing down and the tent was leaking like a sieve!

Myself, my brother-in-law and our two boys stayed there the next night though as it was dry, but then more rain the next day so we gave up. Had a good night though so no complaints - just the weather when the tent wasn't up to it.

However, this is a very nice site - good, clean facilities. Two shower blocks of ample size - one at the top of the site and one half way down. No queues either. A nice well stocked shop at the top of the site too.

Quite slopy in places but it shouldn't be too hard to find a relatively level pitch. Hedges separate four fields providing a nice windbreak and it gives each field it's own feel too.

Must also leave a comment on the Smugglers Inn Pub just a couple of minutes walk from the campsite (via path in the bottom field).

Ten of us sat down to dinner there when it was extremely busy, and were served unbelievably good food within twenty minutes of sitting down. Great food, great prices and great staff.

Stayed here for a 3 night stay to try out our new tent: Arrived in severe downfall and storm on first night ripped our new tent canopy.

However, when clouds cleared next day we could see the beautiful views from the campsite - lovely large site very well landscaped to provide smaller areas within it and to provide windbreaks from the trees and hedges.

Very well maintained site, facilities constantly cleaned, well stocked shop and helpful staff, they had a very useful laundry room which we used to dry out our stuff the next morning!

Lovely spot to return to for a few days camping, the only drawback for us was the lack of little beach to walk to from the campsite for the children to paddle and swim in Osmington (the beach is accessed over fields behind the pub and is full of large rocks and boulders so not easily accessible with pushchairs etc).

 Great little site.

Shower blocks are very good, clean and well maintained with power points and tumble dryers.

There was a playground, mainly for the younger child. The on site shop was adequate for items you may have forgotten to bring and was not overpriced.

There are local supermarkets nearby, which you'll need todrive to. There is a small mini mart at the bottom of the hill, which is walkable.

The beach, which is rocky is within walking distance of the camp. The view from the top of the cliffs is very good.

There are some good family pubs nearby as well although we did't get the chance to go in them. As we walked past they were well attended by family groups.

Definitely recommend.

A well maintained site with loads of space to pitch. It was very clean and a good site for getting away from it all. It was very family friendly with good facilities. The site had a laundrette and toilet in one block, all of which were kept to a very good standard. Small shop with limited choice but friendly, helpful staff. The site was close to the coastal path and also near to two pubs, which were very good. The site was also near to riding stables and has it's own fishing lake so is suitable for all tastes!
