Fantastic location.
Whilst the scenery is stunning, the site is exposed and a breezy / rainy night can be slightly concerning.
We found the slightly obsessive pitching requirements a little off-putting but on the whole this is a very clean, tidy and well managed site.
Some of the hard standings are not flat which is an opportunity missed. Some caravans needed a lot of levelling.
We tried the various paths to the beach and the slightly longer walk round is to be recommended. The direct route is possible but potentially dangerous.
We were pleasantly surprised by the general area with great beaches, easy parking, varied scenery and Swansea nearby with plenty to do.

We arrived to howling gales and driving rain and felt sorry for the tent units camping along the cliff top. We need not have worried. The wardens, God bless them, worked tirelessly, helping the campers to move pitch to their sheltered field.
This is a beautiful site, immaculately kept and well laid out. Most pitches are sloping, so caravans and motorhomes will need ramps.
The facilities - toilet block, washing up area, mother and baby room - look new and are spotlessly clean. Showers need a 30p token available from the shop, but last a good six minutes and the water is heated by solar panels.
The warden, who is on site 24/7 is friendly and helpful and seems to be round every couple of hours checking and cleaning.
There is a well stocked shop which is open seven days a week 8am to 7pm.
Hopefully some additional water points will be installed and a dedicated motorhome service point made available. Looking at the layout, this should not be too difficult to achieve and would add another feather in the cap of this wonderful site.
Let's not forget the views which are to die for and there is lots of room for the kids to run free and play in. It's a lovely site for young families with a super atmosphere which everyone seems to respect.
There is a good dog walk and a huge dog friendly beach.
We stayed a week and would have stayed longer had we not been booked in elsewhere.

Lovely, well maintained site. Showers were token and a little fiddly to work out but water hot and cubicles clean. Shop on site was a bonus as it serves hot drinks( we forgot our camping stove) and is fairly well stocked with enough standbys to get you through a short stint.
Warden and staff very friendly and helpful.
We had to use two tents and was a little non-plussed as to why we had to have a gap between them to fit in a car. We weren't in the field with sea views but it was still peaceful enough to settle the kids down.
The beach was a short walk away and worth it though its a steep walk back. A good family site as a base to explore,we will be returning to explore area further.

We stayed here for two nights, over the Royal Wedding weekend so were expecting it to be manic. It was clearly full but didn't feel crowded at all!
We were in the tent field and though more sheltered than the 'front' field (overlooking the bay) it was a windy weekend and we knew it! If possible you're better off pitching by the hedged sides of the field. We were on the left hand side (as you drive in) and had no protection from the wind and rain whatsoever. That said the tent held up and nothing too bad happened, apart from very little sleep.
A great campsite overall though. Despite being full never had to queue for showers / washing up. The five minute tokens are plenty long enough but make sure you're ready as soon as the token goes in. This system does reduce queuing so I'm all for it!
We did both the National Trust path down to the beach with our 6 and 8yr olds which was fine, and then came back up the more perilous path direct to the campsite. Not sure I'd want to try that one going down - think high likelihood of slipping!
We took our dog. There is a designated dog walk area but I was told that they still have to be on the lead even there so I took our dog for a walk (off the lead) down the lane leading down away from the site (between the two fields) and this worked much better for us. Dog allowed on the beach though so this is also a brilliant option.
A lovely site when the weather's good. Not sure if there's much to do in the area with children if the weather isn't on your side!
Rhossilli beach, about 15mins drive away is absolutely wonderful (and you can take your dog there too!). Just one word of caution - make sure everyone goes to the loos before you head down to the beach, it's a long walk back up!

This site was actually recommended to me by my welsh colleague so had a lot to live up to start with, however it did this with ease with the stunning scenery.
When we first arrived the staff were friendly and helpful however you did seem to be past from person to another until you got a pitch. My husband did want a pitch over looking the bay itself however this appeared to be for mainly caravans and electric hooked up tents, so we were put in the other field. Though at first this was a little annoying it turned out well as the wind at some points was gale force and we were very sheltered in the other field.
Toilet blocks were cleaned regularly throughout the day and the showers took tokens you brought as you arrived which made life easier.
It was a lovely site and will definitely return as location is good for both the gower and swansea

After an initial sharp intake of breath at the turn from the main road on a blind bend and lack of passing places on the, mercifully short, access road we were welcomed by a helpful member of staff who booked us in and showed us to our pitch. Most of the cliff top pitches on the main field are sloping and some levelling is likely to be required but we managed to relocate to a more level pitch on the second day. There are views of the countryside from almost all pitches and the cliff top pitches have a fantastic view over Three Cliffs bay; the beach itself is only a 15min walk down; staff are helpful and friendly; facilities are very clean; also good value for money. We will definitely return.

Same positives as other reviewers: location, clean facilities, beach, really quiet etc.
Only real negative was the rather bizarre approach to packing all the tents together around the perimeter of the field, it's great to have the space in the centre of the field but it resulted in all the tents being 'on top of each other'.
Shop was limited and because of the 'counter style' could not browse (which meant we always forgot something!). Wish we knew about the shop at the campsite just down the road before we were due to leave!
Like another reviewer, they had lost the record of our reservation which reflected a rather unorganised 'back-office'.
Would recommend the King Arthur for a great place to dine. Rossili beach was super but we did not like Oxbridge (seemed a bit run-down).
We would return because of the location.

What a view.
We stayed 6 nights at this site and having read all the reviews I can say that the view was the most stunning I have seen for a long time.
We were fortunate with the weather, it was sunny and only rained once while we were there, which made for an even more enjoyable time.
The site itself is very tidy. The shower block was clean although you need tokens (30p) for 5 minutes of shower time, lovely and warm. The site was quite full but there were no queues for the showers or dish washing.
There are two fields one for tents only which is at the rear of the site, but they can also be pitched on the front field, which is sloping. The caravans can be sited on the front field only and this is where you have the advantage of looking over the bay towards North Devon. You need to have a pitch by the cliff top to benefit from the best views and they are on a first come, first serve basis. However depending on your length of stay the Warden stated if someone leaves you could have the option of moving if you want to.
It appears that if you arrive early or late there is sufficient space for you to wait for a pitch to become available.
The staff are friendly and pleasant and the site fees are extremely good value for money.
Plenty to see, with lovely beaches nearby, and various activities locally, including pick your own fruit and archery. Our teenagers were not bored.
Will most certainly be returning.

We have just spent two wonderful weeks in Gower, staying at this site.
Originally we had only booked one week but extended our stay, as we liked the site/area so much. Access is horrendous - sharp turn in from main road on a blind bend/narrow, single file lane/pedestrians. Two fields available - one is very exposed on a cliff top and used mainly by caravans/motorhomes; the other a hedged field with lovely countryside views (mainly tents). No playground but enough open space to play in without affecting other campers too much (no children ourselves, but guess it would suit younger children better).
Showers are OK, but lack anywhere to put shampoo etc while showering and there is nowhere to sit or put dry clothes down, only wall pegs. The site is very quiet at night and one noisy group were dealt with swiftly by the warden at 1am (note: we found the wardens very helpful and pleasant, but firm when needed). Two areas for washing up although the better one is not so obvious. Site shop is pretty limited but Nicholaston Farm shop/campsite just down the road has a great selection of fresh produce. Bit of a trek to local beach but worth the effort.
We don't normally revisit campsites, but we will definitely return to this one.
Recommend - Maddocks Tea Room at Southgate, very yummy cakes but good lunches too and all homemade!
So many lovely walks and beaches - too many to mention but only the 'easy access' ones were at all busy. A walk out towards Worm Head is a definite must do and if the tide is low, you can cross to the island itself - bit rocky so only for the adventurous!

When we arrived our booking couldn't be found even though it was made three weeks previously, but was handled quickly. I personally thought the plots were quite small even though we had a trailer tent, there wasn't a great space between us and the tent next to us, if you are lucky enough to be of the approx 15 spaces available for tents to over look the beach, I warn you in on a heck of a slope! as said by previous visitors.
Showers cost 30p for approx 5mins and are quite cramped. We didn't find the warden particularly over friendly, after buying a toy from the camp shop, and was later told off when the thing rolled down the hill and hit the A frame on his caravan and woke him up.
The site itself is spotless, probably because there are a few rules to abide to, the showers and toilets were always very clean and washing up areas I thought were also very good and clean. The beach below the site is lovely but again a heck of a walk back up, but we thought it was well worth it.
