 Just returned from a fantastic week at Three Cliffs Bay. Site is well kept, tidy and clean. Showers are basic and the 5 minutes for 30p was enough for me to shower myself and my daughter; although quite cramped.
The views are stunning and the beach is not too difficult to get to - I suffer with chronic back pain, but still managed a (slow) walk back up to the camp site; if you find this beach too difficult to access, there are plenty of fantastic beaches within a short drive. Rhossilli Bay in particular is beautiful - voted Britain's Best Beach this week (7 June).
We were in a party of 9 people (including 3 children aged 7), all of us loved this site and the surrounding area. We have all said we will visit Gower again, it surprised us with its beauty and the number of things to see and do - the fantastic weather did help. Look forward to returning soon.

Absolutely excellent site. The view was breathtaking from the tent, with the beach being just a 5 minute walk away and the weather was amazing.
The facilities were well kept, simple and easy to use. The shop had all the essentials needed and the surrounding area was quiet. The wardens and owners were very friendly and always willing to help.
Cant fault it really, just a great site with a great view, worth every penny. A must for anyone wanting a quiet but beautiful holiday by the sea.

Our 3rd visit to this camp site.
Good points are fabulous views, lovely beach, not too crowded, friendly staff, plenty of toilets all clean.
Bad points; the shortest walk/scramble down to the beach was worse than previous years, really hard going, the longer way down to the beach is less straight forward, takes ages and we got lost coming back up the once. Certainly no good for the slightly infirm, or pushchairs.
I particularly don't like the showers as 5 mins is just not long enough to wash & condition long hair and wash body, and you have to exit the cubicle in order to put another token in. The tokens were 30p each this year, so it makes for an expensive daily event.
There is only a small area to take your dogs to do their business, not a proper walk.
This year we had a lot of rain and the site does not drain well, our awning was unusable as it was completely waterlogged.
The reception stocks a very limited amount of provisions, we always went to the little shop about a mile away for a paper and milk etc.
The nearest pub is not very child friendly, they refused to serve us after 9pm when we went, we had one 11 year old and wanted to sit outside! so we never went there again.
The Mumbles is a lovely place to visit. If you want a big supermarket Swansea is not that far.
You are somewhat limited with 2 big dogs, certain beaches you cannot take them on, but we looked it all up before we went so we were prepared.

Absolutely the most best placed site for seaside views, stayed here the end of august and managed to get a pitch overlooking the beach, outstanding and breathtaking. Short walk down the cliff to the beach or you can take the longer route via the roadway, about 20mins.
Showers and toilets well kept, small site shop for essentials. There is a caravan, motorhome area and then a hilly area for tents, very large sloping field, also an overflow field which has no sea views but is more protected from the elements. The site wardens Ian and Elain were more than friendly and helpful. We stayed a week and three days were torrential rain but it never stopped them venturing out and doing there stuff and checking you were ok, poor souls must of had webbed feet.
Lovely walk across the mountain just outside the park (cefyn bryn) I think, walked across this to a village at the other end, lovely pub called the King Arthur, great food, sure will be visiting this place again.

To start with the positive's, this is a site that has stunning views. The beach and surrounding areas are simply superb to explore. The toilet/shower block is kept reasonably clean. The hard standing pitches are well spaced apart.
We had a week here and the weather was quite poor, with the remnants of hurricane bill lashing the camping field on our 2nd night. Our porch awning was completely ripped from our van rendering it useless and there was nowhere around Swansea area to buy a new one. Be warned - when the weather is bad here you are totally exposed.
The hard standing is in fact black chippings and it is a real job to get even long pegs to stay in. You are not allowed to pitch on the adjacent grass. The pitches are not level given that the site is on the side of a hill, although we were lucky to be on a more level pitch. Access to the pitches is over grass and due to poor weather this became water logged and eventually a churned up mud bath meaning that some vans had to be towed off their pitches by the tractor. The showers are 30p via token and there are 3 mens/5 womens, which have curtains - no doors - so don't take valuables in. The loo cubicles are small - hard to get in & out! The access road is very narrow with no passing points. The reception and shop is not next to the camping field and the bins are even further.
The staff here were helpful but not particularly welcoming we found. Overall we would say this is a good tent site, but many caravanners will find it average, although the Gower is lovely. The site seems always busy and given this, the owners should invest in better loo/shower facilities and extend the hard road access to the pitches as the weather will often demand this.

Visited 3 Cliffs Bay on a very rainy weekend which took the edge off what was a very picturesque site.
We camped in the back field. We had no trouble with waterlogged pitches even though it rained most of the weekend. We were told to pitch tent-car-tent-car etc which wouldn't have been a problem, but they then asked us to move up closer together even though our tents were already pitched and the field was very quiet. We had paid for family sized tents and weren't taking up anymore room than anyone else. I could have understood if they were extremely busy! The situation was resolved quickly and we did not move the tents, and the field did not fill up.
The shower block was basic but adequate, although I imagine would be extremely busy if the campsite was full, as there were only 5-6 showers, sinks and toilets. You pay 20p for a shower which lasts 5 mins.
The shop/reception had a few bits and bobs and there were recycling facilities. The beach looked amazing and we would definitely have spent our time there if the weather had been better.
We went for a walk to Reynoldston on the saturday and found that the King Arthur did not allow dogs, so we sat outside (undercover, with some slightly effective heaters) in our soaking wet waterproofs! The hotel at Oxwich allowed the dog whilst we waited for a taxi (i think he took pity on us!) which was £20(pretty good for 7 soaking wet people and a soggy dog).
The Worms Head Hotel at Rhossilly also did not allow dogs. We were a little disappointed about the surrounding areas attitude to dogs in what is a beautiful part of the country, popular with walkers. However,we were very appreciative of the taxi driver who took us back to the campsite when we had had enough of the rain.
I would consider staying at this campsite again due to the beautiful scenery and potential for good walks, although the incident with pitching our tents and lack of sheltered places to go in the rain were negative points.

This site's facilities are fine but we stayed on the front field but at the back where the toilet block is and this flooded. There is no drainage at all, the camp slopes this way so you get all the water from the rest of the field. there is nothing near by within walking distance. 2 weeks holiday ruined. The site needs to be landscaped like his brother has done so that the flooding will not happen.

Based upon the fact that we're still fairly novice campers (2 adults 2 teens and a mutt - yes we started late!) having only visited 7 or so sites in 3 years, and having been spoilt by the incomparible Fforest Fields in Builth Wells, I'm not sure how valid my review will be as I've learned to expect a such a lot from a site in a short period of time.
I'll start with the positive points to this site.
At £15 a night for a family tent of four it's an absolute snip. For such a lovely area, and good facilities I was pleasantly surprised.
The view of the bay from the cliff was absolutely stunning, I've been to many places in this country and it's hard to be able to recall such an awesome vista as is offered from this site. It's everything and more that other people have said about the view, you really have to see it to believe it.
The toilets were first class, but we did arrive at a busy time so we did have to queue to use them, and also for the showers. (4 cubicles in the Gents and 4 showers if I recall correctly). The shop was fairly well stocked in terms of provisions and small camping items (tent pegs, rope sundries etc.But be prepared to pay the extra for the priviledge). Friendly and helpful staff to boot.
The beach is nothing short of glorious, with plenty of room even in high season - we were lucky we had 3 days of red hot weather - the sea was as clear and blue as anything the Med can offer, and bathing felt safe as it was shallow even going out into it for some distance. Oh, plenty of rock pools for the little 'uns, though they could be a bit deep.
When we arrived we were given a choice of which field to camp in, we chose the back field as it seemed marginally less crowded than the cliff field.
Which brings me onto the downside. We were directed to a spot by the warden who informed us that we had to pitch in a certain way 'tent, car, tent, car, tent, car etc, there seemed little choice in how to pitch. The tents were very close to one another and it was fairly difficult to pitch without bringing the guys into the neighbours car parking space. It helped to have understanding neighbours and we managed to compromise with them for parking & pitching, we kind of parked at a 45 degree angle to each other, but in 3 Cliffs defence if this was against site regulations we were never pulled up about it.
I'm glad that we had that field because overnight (Friday) the cliff field turned into a kind of tent/motorhome city, but I guess this is to be expected in late July with the kid's hols.
Being dog owners we found little space for exercising the dog, however it seemed to be OK to exercise them on the beach, as other owners seemed to be doing. Don't let that put off non-dog owners though as all the owners we saw seemed to be very responsible, exercising and cleaning up in empty areas of the beach. We didn't see any dogs running free on the site, and I suspect the wardens would have put paid to any of that very swiftly.
One other thing, there's no facility to freeze ice packs. In the shop I overheard a camper asking if they could freeze some packs, he was told there were no facilities however he could rent pre-frozen packs at £1 each. I thought that was a bit steep, however as I said previously we are still fairly inexperienced and perhaps this is the going rate. (we've bought a little gas fridge so we've never really had to use the packs)
Finally, for the older people, the centre path down to the beach is fairly hard going - I'd recommend using the little road as you come into the site as it's longer but a more gentle slope. Expect to take about 20 - 25 mins back up at a gentle pace. Kids and Teens 'll do it in about five mins! That said, it's not a major issue, and its a pleasant stroll too.
If you want to see even more special views I'd recommend going into Reynoldston and heading out towards the B4271 where there's a parking spot on top of the downs and some lovely walks, most giving you stunning views of both sides of the penninsular, and after a long walk what better than to stop off at the King Arthur in Reynoldston for a refreshing pint of cider. Magic.
I've tried to be constructive in my appraisal of the site but just remember that this is only my opinion, and on the whole, I didn't see many miserable faces, so 3 Cliffs must've been doing something right.

I chose this site because of the reviews that had been written so thought I'd add mine! Site was full but didn't seem over crowded, extremely clean and well run. The showers and toilets were immaculate. The back field was great for tents and with guy ropes attached we were not going to blow away in the strong winds- 2 nights - one each week! I wouldn't want to be on the cliff field in a tent fine for caravans.
Had to pay for showers @ 30p but this was great as meant no one stayed in them for ages and any waiting was no longer than 5 minutes. Good site for touring and walks as near to all locations. We will book again for next year!

A perfect setting with exceptional views and a really peaceful feel to it.
A choice of routes down to the beach depending on how adventurous you are - not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Nice spacious pitches.
Well stocked shop for basics - fresh bread and cakes everyday.
Limited facilities for amount of campers/caravans - only 5 showers in the ladies although cleaned regularly and well maintained.
No 'family' facilities - parent and baby room for small babies only.
