Beautifully kept site and very friendly, helpful owners, who clearly take pride in their business. Toilets and communal areas were immaculate. Adults only, which is a plus. There were plenty of dogs on the site when we stayed, but didn't hear a murmur from any of them. The information hut is a great idea, with plenty to read and produce on sale and a freezer made available if needed. Quite a fast road through the village (should be 30mph but mostly seemed to be ignored) so care needed when pulling out. Lovely cross country walk to the pub at Southrepps (barn owls spotted too) and cycled round the quiet lanes to Sheringham and North Walsham. Plenty of helicopters going over!

Our first visit this year and a few changes have been made. The gents has had a re vamp, there is now a separate toilet and wash basin which believe it or not no changes to the overall size of the toilet block have been made, just a very clever use of the layout. A new shower and cubicle have been installed. The hard standings area s are completed. Trimming of the more mature trees has been done with no adverse effects. Weather was kind as usual, and made for a total relaxing 5 days. Long may the excellent standards and service continue.

Our 2nd visit this season to Poppyland - everything exactly as it should be, clean, tidy, very well managed as usual. A few little touches made on the site to personalise it - the scale model fire engine for one parked at the Fire Point is a lovely addition. Weather was kind to us (as it always seems to be )no issues with the site at all and considering we are almost at the end of the season the grass was immaculate.
Keep it up Billy and Pam - nothing wrong with what you are doing, at all.

Just returned from 2 weeks at Poppyland.
Wonderful site level hard standing pitch plenty of room between units. We had glorious weather for the fortnight but if the weather was not so good site is fairly sheltered against high wind.
no nigntlife no noise no bright lights. Just what we wanted. Owners Billy and Pam always on hand friendly, on site information hut was a bonus
would definitely recommend and will be coming back again.
site is about 5 miles from Cromer, Morrisons and Lidl in Cromer plus fresh crab. Beaches nearby are dog friendly.

Just returned from an excellent weeks stay at Poppyland - was really blessed with the weather which was scorching all week ! The site was fully booked all week, which speaks for itself. The owners as welcoming as ever, nothing too much trouble for them, he was carrying out necessary maintenance to the surrounding hedges etc with the most minimal amount of noise and to be honest was hardly noticeable and certainly unobtrusive to the campers.
The place was spotless as usual and you would never have thought it was getting towards the end of the season, the grass/ pitches and field showed NO signs of wear whatsoever - a testament of how things should be. Long may it continue. Just wish we could squeeze another stay in before the end of the season. Still, we will be certain to return again.

Just returned from an overnight stop at Poppyland's and I would highly recommend it. The owners were efficient and friendly from the point of booking, to showing us the generous pitch and facilities. Toilets and showers were clean, and the shop was well stocked and fairly priced. The location is easy to find and well signposted, but our sat-nav found it very easily which made life simpler. Neighbouring villages give you a choice of restaurants, pubs and takeaways but we headed ten minutes down the road to the coast, and had a cracking fish and chip supper overlooking the sea!
When we returned to the site, quite a few more people had arrived but it was very quiet and very civilised. There was never the feeling of being cramped though, which was important for us. Many of the guests had dogs (as we did) but there were not any issues, and certainly no mess of any kind; in fact, Poppyland was the cleanest I have been on, including those in Europe, so ten out of ten for that. The other 'campers' were respectful of others and considerate of any noise produced. Most people seemed to sleep in on the Sunday morning, so we had to be mindful of disturbing anyone before we set off for the coast again at around 8. 30am.
With Cromer and Mundesley so close, you really can be on the sandy beaches within ten to fifteen minutes, and with so many beaches to choose from you can't go wrong. We had a really good quality breakfast at the Lifeboat cafe in Cromer that morning. Great quality or food, fair prices and a view to die for! At least you have miles of beach to walk on afterwards, to try and walk the breakfast off!
I can't say much about the village of Thorpe Market itself as we didn't stay long enough. It was certainly pretty!
A wonderful site with a relaxed atmosphere and a really welcoming feel! Well done guys.

What a delightful, clean, tidy and welcoming little site. Having ridden by so many times we had a weekend break and thoroughly enjoyed the camp and the many nearby places.
The site is in perfect order. Turning in from road from North Walsham direction is a little testy but then a friendly welcome and help to reverse into position was great.
TV cable, newspaper delivered to the door and peaceful relaxation and all within 15 mins of Cromer and Sheringham.
The toilet/shower block is a little small but very clean and there is a very helpful/handy amenities room with basic provisions, sink, TV and area guides trusted to an honesty box.
The site is sheltered by various trees but gets good sun and is surprisingly quiet. Great weekend and would recommend to anyone !

Yet another visit to this site - over the last 3 seasons we have seen numerous subtle changes/ improvements made, new trees planted, increased hardstandings, new sinks (very neatly done in the space allowed ) in the Gents washroom. Can't vouch for the ladies but if the gents are anything to go by they'll be spotlessly kept.
Must admit to having to disagree with the previous comments about bird noise/ bird cannons - after all it is in the country and I know 'townies' aren't used to that kind of noise and if they wish to object to it - then surely a less rural camping location would be more suitable for them
The washroom heating comments would be more viable if - the site was an ALL year round site (which it isn't) and the cost of staying there reflected it (which it doesn't)
It is exactly how camping should be - clean, tidy, well kept and excellently managed. Keep up the excellent work Pam and Billy, it is a credit to you both.

Spent 3 nights at Poppyland over the rainy May Day bank holiday weekend. The owners were very pleasant and helpful and the site is laid out really nicely with large pitches.
The location is great for exploring the coast and the 2 nearby NT properties.
The facility that really lets the site down is the showers. There is only 1 ladies, 1 gents and they are not heated in any way which is pretty impractical in the UK. It's also 50p to use them which seems a bit stingy given you are paying £20 a night anyway.
Being in the countryside, be prepared for the early morning cock-a-doodle do and geese honking, not to mention explosions which we think were bird cannons, but I guess that's why they invented ear plugs!

We stayed on this site over Easter weekend and when we arrived owner Billy was very welcoming and helpful. There is a portable cabin where inside is a washing up facility and emergency supplies available to purchase via an 'honesty box'.
Toilets and showers were nice and clean, although at this time of year a bit on the cold side inside. I did make a suggestion to Billy about installing some kind of heating to take the chill off, which I believe he took on board.
This is a nice quiet site located just 4 miles south of Cromer (very handy). Excellent pub just down the road at Alby with a nice selection of ales. We definitely will return to this site in the future.
