This was our second visit to this site, the first being in a campervan, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We bought our first caravan in August, and decided to go back to Poppyland for our first outing, as we remembered how friendly the owners were.

Well we were not disappointed. Billy greeted us on our arrival and immediately helped us reverse onto our pitch. He gave us some advice on how to set-up and sorted out a tv aerial cable for us.

This is a fab little site, really well kept. Nice and level, grass clippings collected, toilets/showers immaculately clean.

The hut providing local information is really useful. There is a washing machine, microwave and a freezer, from which you can purchase ice creams. You can also buy biscuits, crisps, chocolate plus useful things you may have forgotten like shampoo, washing up liquid etc.

The pub at South Repps, The Vernon Arms, does excellent food and there are other pubs, take-aways and a small shops within a couple of miles, but nothing in Thorpe Market itself.

Billy & Pam have worked really hard to make this a great camping experience for all. They are really friendly and helpful & Billy came over to help us on several occasions during the weekend, always with a smile on his face,

We really love this site, and although we love to travel around and visit new places, I think we will be drawn back here again and again.

Just returned from a long weekend at this lovely little site. Billy and Pam were most welcoming and keep the site immaculate. We were on a grass pitch but there were also hardstandings. Billy loaned us an aerial lead for the TV as ours wasn't long enough to reach the TV point provided. Nice touches like the hand soap and towels in the loos, a wooden cabin stocked with ice creams and essentials, use of a microwave, freezer and a washing machine if you need it. Showers were 50p. Everyone on site this weekend was very friendly. As we are local we didn't do any sightseeing but agree the nearby Groveland Farm shop is handy.

The site is well laid out and spacious. The facilities are kept very clean. The grass is very well manicured. There is a superb cabin which has sinks, a freezer, fridge, ironing board, a tv and much more. You can get your paper delivered to your pitch each morning.

The owners are very pleasant and helpful. This is a lovely site for caravans and if I ever had a caravan, I would have no hesitation in going back.

However, I would not return in my tent. During our 10 days there, we were the only tent for most of the time. We were given a pitch in a corner which was overhung by trees and on the lower part of the site. It felt rather dark and damp - not helped by the wet days (It gently slopes up from the road) It was also next to the chickens and the part of the site nearest to the main road.

Therefore there was a fair amount of noise. None of things things would have been such an issue in a caravan I'm sure.

This is our 2nd visit to this site, review left last time we stayed (last year) and am pleased to say it was just as good if not better than the last visit. Billy and Pam have certainly made 'subtle' improvements to the site, which at first glance most people wouldn't notice. The gravel entrance has been lengthened further onto the field, there seemed to be more hardstanding pitches and the drainage doesn't appear to have any issues with. The comments made by previous members about it being 'cliquey' certainly in my opinion isn't an issue, even though we had only been to the site once before, we were made most welcome and I suspect that the more you return the more likely you are to bump into the same people (after all, if the site is right which it is, then people will return to it won't they ??) As I said in my 1st review, long may it continue - it is a credit to the owners and as there are no plans to extend the site (which I asked Billy when I was there) keep up the excellent work - it is a credit to you both.

We have just returned from 4 nights at this beautiful site. We were only able to book for 2 initially but Billy managed to extend our stay to 4 nights for us.

This is truly one of the best sites that we have ever had the pleasure of staying on. Beautifully clean toilets and showers, and a well equipped shop. We were impressed by the prices in the shop, which were no more expensive (and sometimes less expensive!) than supermarkets, and loved the honesty box idea, which didn't appear to be abused at all - restores your faith in people a bit, when you see what else is going on at the moment!

Everyone we met on site was friendly, and sociable, and Billy always had time for a chat as he went about his daily routine!

The pitches were all very well kept, and no sooner had a unit moved, than Billy was onto the job with his mower! This was the first experience we had had of gravel pitches, and it worked really well - to the point where we would request one if it was possible in future.

All in all a cracking site which we will return to without doubt. Just hope not too many people find out about it!

Have just returned from taking my folding camper Poppy to Poppyland and my parents stayed in Puddleduck Cottage which was absolutely delightful.

The campsite is beautifully looked after, pitches well maintained and grass manicured. It is a real suntrap with flat pitches and protection offered by neighboring trees. No road noise noticeable and considering how many dogs where on site, definitely no dog noise. Even the owner's cockerel doesn't get up until 7. 30am which was a nice alarm call. Toilet and shower block is well equipped and all other facilities and information are kept in a large portacabin.

We found it to be an ideal location for exploring North Norfolk and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Thanks to Pam and Billy for their hospitality

We visited poppy land in the school holidays but as it is an adults only site it was not noisy with kids. The site is immaculate and the grounds very well kept. There are two toilets for women and two for men and a shower each. These cost 50p and are also very clean and tidy. The small shop has the basics and a daily paper is delivered to your door. The surrounding area is very quiet and there are lots of quiet lanes for walking or cycling. The beach is a bit to far to walk but buses stop just outside the site. There is no drain for motorhomes so we watererd the plants with our grey water. This is a lovely site and the owners are very helpful and friendly. There are no big shops close by it is a very rural part of the country.

Left us to set up before taking money again a nice touch

Loos are clean and tidy although had to pay 50p for shower you got plenty of hot water

Nice walk across road on footpath into village and small common the pub has closed down but hopefully someone will take it over.

Lovely fresh eggs yum yum and ice creams and bits and bobs for sale with honesty box really good idea

All in all one of the best sites we have stayed on small quiet and nice owners just really good just don't tell everybody!

Here we are again on our second visit of three this year!

This site keeps getting better - there is now access to WIFI via Caravan Connect which I am currently using to write this review.

The majority of the pitches now also have access to a TV aerial so TV signal pickup is much improved which came in handy when we realised we had left our Freesat box at home!

The Groveland farm shop is well worth a visit (about 2 mins drive) with a good butchers and cafe which serves lovely cakes and coffees as well as full meals.

A boat trip on the broads is well worth the time if the weather is good (about 25 mins drive away to Wroxham).

Good beach nearby - no dog walking restrictions here.

Whilst here this time, we have experienced a really heavy downpour and were amazed to see how quickly the water drained away from the site.

Looking forward to Sept hols already.

A lovely little site all round. The owner(s) couldn’t be more helpful, even offering an early morning newspaper delivery to my door. There is a small cabin offering lots of local info, and a few essentials (with honesty box), along with books and games to borrow.

The site is level with just fourteen pitches around the edge of a large sheltered field. As the tv reception is poor, there is a free co-ax on offer to tap into the site aerial, which is linked to each pitch up the left side of the field only.

So mention this if its important when booking. The showers/loos are clean enough, but the shower itself was a bit iffy till it got up to speed.

For peace and quiet, you wont find a more relaxing site, and being adults-only is a bonus! Its a place I plan to return to when in the area.

Thorpe Market is just a small cluster of houses, with no pub, shop, or anything. We went into the nearby village of South Repps - (1 mile away) which has a pub doing food (which we didn’t sample), and a store. We also visited nearby Roughton, (maybe a mile and a half) which has a pub and Malaysian restaurant, and fish-shop. There is also a petrol garage/Post Office store here.

There is a bus-stop outside the site which we used to go into Cromer. Here there were plenty of shops, but like most traditional sea-side resorts nowadays, is now looking a bit down-at-heel, but still worth a visit, as its not all ‘rock and chips’.

There are a number of smaller villages on the coast nearby, that are well worth a look-in, with miles of unspoilt beach’s.
