I have already emailed Lucy to say thank you for a lovely site, so that in itself is my review of the site !

Directions into the site are really useful to avoid the narrow streets of the village of Minchinhampton. The site is through a lovely little farmyard with chickens and ducks roaming around, donkeys to greet you and a pig that is often snuffling around muttering hello !

Lucy works really hard to make the site as nice as possible and this shows, the shower block has been so well planned when it was built with easy to clean flooring. Its just nice when someone has thought about things. There is a really useful utility room with a free washing machine in.

The dog area is safe and closed in and well equipped not only with a dog bin, but even some dispensable dog bags ! What a brilliant idea, so no excuse for anyone to not clear up after their dog.

The pitches are great with large banks dividing each pitch. Each pitch is a really generous size and allows great views over the rolling countryside. There is a new housing estate within sight but you don't have to look at that bit ! The farm animals and the countryside are plenty pretty enough.

Lucy was so helpful in suggesting things for us to do, including a modern art exhibition in Gloucester Cathedral, it made a great day out with lunch on the docks afterwards. There were also Horse Trials being held in very nearby Gatcombe Park which was literally half a mile away.

Even without these things going on, there is still plenty to do. The village itself is just lovely, full of friendly helpful people and a particularly lovely cafe called Shorthorns. The village has so much charm with the large Cotswold Stone church and the cattle wandering the streets !

Basically a great spot with a great site from which to enjoy it all, or, just have a glass of wine, watch the donkeys, sheep and cattle and enjoy the scenery !

We stayed at this site for 6 nights in September. It is set in a lovely area of Gloucestershire, and we were able to visit a number of nearby places, including Bath, Bourton-on-the-Water, Cirencester and Gloucester itself. Definitely make sure you follow the directions to the campsite as given on their website, as if you were to approach from the direction of Minchinhampton the roads are extremely narrow.

The facilities were alright, the toilet/shower block looks lovely from the outside but wasn't very clean on the inside, plus there were large windows which had no nets or curtains, so didn't feel very private. Also infested with daddy-long-legs in the toilets/showers and kitchen area, which was slightly off-putting!

The site was fairly quiet for most of the week as it was coming to the end of the season, but on the last couple of nights there were more families arriving with children, and also a festival of some sort was gathering in an adjacent field, where they were playing loud music and talking/laughing well past the quiet time of 10. 30pm, even into the early hours. We felt that they should have been told to keep the noise down, but sadly no one did.

Also, although the site is only next to a narrow country lane, it does get a high volume of loud traffic, including lorries, and cars/motorbikes travelling through at high speeds, even during the night, so if you're sensitive to traffic noise it might be worth asking to have a pitch set away from the road.

Recommended for small families or those who don't mind loud noise at night, sadly we probably won't be staying here again.

Access is easy if you follow the instructions and avoid Minchinhampton centre. The facilities are new and kept very clean there is a very good children's play area, firepits and wood are available if you feel inclined to sit outside at night. Lucy and her husband Hamish who run the site are very pleasant and helpful. The pub in Minchinhampton was closed for refurbishment but the food and beer at the Ragged Cot was excellent. A very quiet peaceful site in a beautiful area, lots of places to visit. My wife and I had a great week there and look forward to visiting again.

 One of our favourites

This was our 4th visit to Tobacconist and Lucy was as helpful and friendly as ever. All of our group loved the site and we did not really venture far from it the whole weekend. Toilet and shower block are completely spotless (thanks to Lucy's tireless cleaning) and there is a well equipped kitchen for all to use.

Happened to be amazing weather and the kids were able to get their paddling pool out. Which was the icing on the cake for them and kept them occupied for hours.

Had not realised that we could not play ball games but totally understood the reasoning behind it with the firepits. Lucy also directed us to a local playing field appx 5 mins walk away where we could play rounders.

Have already booked again for next year.

Would highly recommend

A lovely site with grass pitches between long patches of unmown grass which create a habitat for insect life. The whole place is managed with respect for the natural environment. We found it very quiet midweek. The facilities are kept very clean and tidy.

Lucy even gave us a midweek discount of three nights for the price of two.

We don't have children but saw a family enjoying the play area.

This is a nice campsite, with basic clean facilities. There were free showers. There was a little play area for the children towards the end of the main field. There was a washing machine, a fridge and freezer that you could use and also, brilliantly, an electric kettle! You could hire fire pits. The only down side to this was that ball games weren't allowed which caused much sorrow to our boys. I had found this out just before we came so we could have not come. I just didn't realise how sad this would make our boys to see a large field with just a few tents in and not be able to play football. (Hence why I've only given a 7 for child friendliness, for non-footballing children they might give it a higher score. ) So it was a learning point for when we book other sites! Overall, a nice site in a great location. There was a great pub in Nailsworth where, because they didn't serve food, you could bring in a take away or your own food and eat it there whist having a drink. Our boys thought this was great! Also Woodchester Park provided a great woodland walk/adventure trail and the house looked amazing (it was shut on the Monday we were there so we couldn't go in. ) Overall a nice campsite

We have just spent a week here, beautiful site conveniently situated near lovely Cotswold towns & villages. Minchinhampton is a very short walk away with a handful of really nice shops.

The shower/ toilet block is immaculately kept by Lucy the owner, there is also a kitchen area with a washing machine ( no cost for usage) and a proper fridge freezer, ideal for campers. The neighbouring caravan to us said they had stayed the weekend previous and the tent field( where families seemed to camp) got very noisy. This we hadn't experienced during both our stays.

There's a wooden play park on site, but no ball games are allowed because of the fire pits that are used by campers. There are conservation grasses between each unit and certain areas of the site that are not allowed to be entered. On the plus side though, the animals belonging to the farm are well worth visiting, a pig, cows, chickens, a sheep and a few donkeys!

It's our 2nd visit to the site and definitely will visit again.

Just got back from a weekend at Tobacconist Farm. What an absolutely fantastic site! Lucy and her family put so much effort into ensuring that the site is maintained to the highest standard, with spotless facilities.

The fire pits and wood are a really nice touch. We really enjoyed lighting a fire after the kids had gone to bed and sitting out under the stars with a bottle of wine.

If you have small children, you'll love this site. Cars are not allowed on the pitch (other than for unloading/unloading) so you haven't got the usual problem of cars zipping round the campsite and small children running headlong towards the park. Here, the site is small enough that you can easily keep and eye on the kids from your pitch whilst they play at the park. There's also a variety of animals to see, including a very impressive bull called Highland Bob!

The pitches are large and well spaced out, with EHU and plenty of water points. We'll definitely be going back. Thanks Lucy, for everything. The kids are still loving their fly swats!

We had a fantastic stay here, the campsite and the facilities are first class always clean and without queues any time of the day. The owner is very friendly and always has time for a chat and a cuddle with the dog! We have camped here twice this year at Easter and again at the end of May, yes it did rain but you don't go camping and expect it to be dry! The village has a well stocked shop, a pub, coffee shop, butcher and a chip shop. Further afield is Stroud with a fabulous farmers market on Saturdays a very pleasant town centre with the usual supermarkets close by.

All in all we have had a very peaceful and relaxing stay's on both occasions and we will be coming back.

The facilities are spotlessly clean and the site itself is very nice. Slightly sloping but still fine to pitch our tent on. You can have a fire in the fire bowls provided, which is always lovely. There is an indoor and outdoor (covered) washing up area, a fridge freezer and kettle and a washing machine for campers use!

Really there is nothing to knock about this site, but I can't give it 10 out of 10 because to the one side a housing estate is being developed and this is clearly viewable and to the other side is the road-although this can't be seen.

The above is the only reason it doesn't get 10 out of 10. And if you are using the site to access the local area it is perfect.
