Spent four nights here over Easter holiday period and it was everything we hoped for. Easy to find. Large, well-maintained grass pitches with EHU and water very close. Spotless toilets/showers/kitchen. Even the chem toilet disposal was spotless! Nice play area for kids and far enough away from pitches so no noise problems.
Lucy is really friendly and helpful.
Set in a beautiful location. Lots of pubs/restaurants locally. Went for dinner to The Old Lodge which served excellent food even if it seemed a bit pricey from the menu. Wife had fish and chips (£13. 95) and she said it was the best she'd ever had and well worth the price. Apparently you can usually get 2-4-1 vouchers off the web so we'll definitely use them next time.
We'll definitely be visiting again.

We (two families with teenagers) stayed here for 3 nights over the August Bank Holiday and were very impressed. It is a well designed site with clean and modern facilities. The owner works hard to make sure everything runs smoothly. It's a lovely site for small children as there is a playground and farm animals - our teenagers played football in a nearby sports field. Our dog was also welcome.

Sometimes, you read reviews of a site and they are all glowing and positive and you think to yourself, 'This sounds too good to be true. ' In the case of Tobacconist Farm, you can believe the glowing reports which it has already had here.
We have just spent a glorious 5 nights here and yes, the facilities are easily the cleanest I have ever known. Lucy, the owner, works unbelievably hard to ensure that everything is just as it should be.
You are allowed fire pits and logs are available for sale. When we arrived, the heavens opened (tent up, thank goodness!) and it rained heavily for over an hour. No waterlogged site though, thanks to the local geology.
This is an excellent family site - there is a play area for kids and cars are parked in the next field, apart from when you are loading/unloading. Family shower rooms are available and there is no extra charge for showers. All this makes for a very family friendly, safe and clean site.
I would happily recommend this site to anyone who loves family friendly camping. If you are considering this site, look no further - get it booked and send my regards to Lucy!

I didn't really want to leave a review for this campsite as it is so nice I didn't want it to be booked up for when we want to return next which we will definitely be doing!
The journey in is a bit tricky as the streets are extremely tight through minichampton and be careful which postcode you use as there are two on the website and one is the wrong one. Just pop it in a map before you set off and make sure the postcode sends you to minichampton.
Lucy is a great campsite owner and really does her best to ensure you enjoy your stay. There was a classic motocycle rally whist we were staying but there was no disturbance to us and even invited us to their BBQ at the bottom of the field.
The facilities are really great, probably the best I have had whilst camping and the owner cleans them every morning so they are always spotlessly clean. In each room you have a toilet, a sink and a shower and we didn't have to wait at all for a shower. There is a kitchen with a fridge and freezer which are free for everyone to share.
The field itself is slightly sloping but not a problem really and the grassy mounds inbetween pitches are a great idea for privacy and noise dampening.
We used electric hook up and this is the first time we have had it on a meter. £2. 50 for five nights is extremely reasonable and made the stay excellent value for money compared with other sites that charge sometimes £5 per night.
Overall, great location, great site, excellent value for money. Couldn't ask for more.

Not much we can add except to say that we agree with other reviewers positive comments. Beautiful, well kept site with a gently sloping field (not a problem once we got our air bed in the right direction!) and an owner who goes the extra mile to ensure campers enjoy their stay. The shower block/kitchen area were kept immaculately clean. We were blessed with exceptionally hot weather for our long weekend so, with no electric hook up, the use of the fridge/freezer was a great help. Thanks to Lucy for her hospitality. We hope to return.

Well, where to start with this site! I was able to book and the owner was super friendly, we're newbies to putting up a tent so when we arrived the owner came along to help us, after an hour it was apparent we had 2 tent poles missing so the owner very kindly let us borrow a spare tent for the night and advised us to go to a tent pole supplier the following day. We ended up buying another tent as the stockist didn't stock the exact poles we required which again the owner helped put the tent up.
The site was lovely and clean, brand new toilets, family shower rooms and a kitchen with washing machine and fridge freezer, as we were staying for 4 nights we used all the facilities and everything worked perfectly. Besides only one road (not a busy one) the place was super quiet, couldn't even hear the farm animals (I dreaded hearing the cockerel !)
We sat in the site most evenings and got the fire pit going (only a £4 for a bag of logs that lasted all evening) although again as we're newbies we forgot we'd need matches so had to borrow some.
We got a electric unit in our tent so we were able to charge up the iPad, phones and everything else electric (I even used my straighteners!) I'm more of a glamper than a camper so this site suited me down to the ground!
Our little girl loved her 1st ever camping trip and the play park was a perfect hangout for a 6 year old.
Thanks again for being so welcoming and hospitable, you made our holiday extra special and nothing was a bother for you or us!

We stayed at the Tobacconist for 5 nights in May. The site is great, with excellent facilities. It's clean and modern with free hot water in the bathrooms, free fridge/freezer and washing machine. The owners are very helpful and very friendly. Bbq's and fire pits are available. The local area is really nice - good choice of walks, cycle routes, pubs and restaurants. Excellent value for money, would definitely stay again.

Stayed at this site for weekend with my mate and will definitely be back with my family. Really friendly and helpful owner. Facilities are spotless.
Great fire pits with well seasoned logs supplied at a small cost. Lovely location.
The only negative was that I lost my wedding ring which of course has nothing to do with the site but if anyone staying in the future finds a silver wedding band on site could they please hand it to the owner.

Really lovely campsite, the children were delighted by the animals and the play area. A bent pole and high winds nearly prevented us getting our tent up but the owner jumped in to give us a hand and saved the day. The campfire was joyful and the location is beautiful, 5 minutes walk to the centre of the village with useful shops and 5 minutes walk to National Trust's Minchinhampton Common with fabulous views. Being rather high up it was a tad windy at times but we would happily go back and had a fantastic time there.

We have just spent a most pleasant long weekend at this new site. Large spacious pitches on a gently sloping field with the facilities at the bottom. Electricity is charged on a meter card, so you only pay for what you use. We used £2.50 over three days. The showers are large and of the push button variety with plenty of hot water, all spotlessly clean. The resident donkeys were friendly and enjoyed being petted. All in all this is a lovely site and one we can recommend.
