This was our first family camping holiday. The site was perfect and well managed by the friendly staff. We went in August for 2 weeks and the weather was in the 80's for the whole fortnight. There was loads of room for our kids to play outside our tents, going with kids aged 6 and 1 it was ideal. The pitches were all full but there was still room for our car and tent and room to play. We stay in a little cove with other family members and filled the cove. I would highly recommend this site to anyone. Hopefully will go back soon. Last year went to Lady's Mile in Dawlish wasn't a patch on this site.

Max and paddys adventure (again!) Its very simple I have been going to this site since 1977! every year, a little lad once, now going with his brothers kids and playing on the very same beach, if you want a good British holiday with simply breathtaking beach views this is the one!.Enid Blyton has clearly been here as its a picture postcard location, ie ble sky, white beach and a view of a lighthouse on your right and a fishing village in the distance to your left. Bliss. The site. Times change and so does what we all on here expect, crowded in the school holidays (usual) and quiet off peak, its realy best described as a base for touring the cornish coast. Take the kids to lizard and have a pasty at the last cafe, shopping at st ives and for a memorable night,a barbeque near godfrey, with the sun setting over st ives. Avoid Lands end like the plague, awful! like a dull and overated alton towers now! You can obviously detect my sentiment on this site but the time I have been going not a bad hoilday has arisen, since 1977! , enough said.

Awful! I can't believe the reviews I've read on here. On pitch 749! Each group of 100 pitches seemed so cramped and full, tents too close to one another, no room for the children to play safely (as there was little room for cars) The shower block was poor - 4 loos, 4 showers and 4 sinks for 100 pitches (say 4 persons per pitch). Rarely was I able to get a shower and even then it was mostly cold (and dirty). An unpleasant experience which I will not be repeating (didn't go to the club or anything so can't review that. The shop was well stocked 'though). FOr those who are visitng this part of Cornwall, find a better site - the coastline here is awesome - no complaints there!

This was my first time camping, and I'm glad that I picked this site, having read the reviews on here. It's in a beautiful location and the beach is long and clean, surrounded by large towans/sandhills. The shop had everything you could possibly require for a camping holiday - and at normal prices too. The toilet block nearest to us were ok - they were not modern but they were cleaned regularly - there were only 3 shower cubicles in the ladies unit which was a little disappointing as I had to queue every time for the shower. The staff are helpful and friendly - we arrived at the park on foot, and upon arrival, we were given a lift to our pitch by one of the guys at the GateHouse. Hayle Town Centre is about a 10-15 minute walk away where there are a couple of good pubs, the post office, chinese/kebab/thai/indian/fish & chips, newsagent. There are a few buses that pass by the holiday park to St-Ives/Truro but make sure you know what time the buses are - they aren't that frequent, especially on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Reception have copies of the bus timetables. Oh, and bring some earplugs with you - the seagulls and rooks can be extremely noisy first thing in the morning. I really enjoyed my time here.

Well where can I start, with the words fantastic, brilliant, superb the best campsite I have seen. This campsite is at the level that all other campsites should aim to reach. The pitches were level and had plenty of room around them, the shop was well stocked and cheap and had a service of frozen blocks for your cool boxes for 50p each day brill. The clubhouse is a large room with a kids room attached also not pricey an amusement room is also there for the kids. On the entertainment side the kids loved it and the singers we saw were OK. The toilets and shower blocks were absolutely beautiful cleaned regularly throughout the day and spotless exactly what we were hoping for if a campsite is a clean site what else can you wish for. The swimming pool was free to all to use but no changing rooms there just a seat around the pool to put your clothes on. Good cafe by the pool, fantastic beach on the site but a bit of a warning if you do go down to the beach when climbing back up go up the steps the sandy banking up to the car park is a case of 2 steps forward 3 steps back it is very steep and heavy going the elderly would struggle on the way up other than that I must say this is the best campsite I have been on and I have booked for two weeks again as soon as I got back you can book for this site without a worry in the world knowing that you will be happy with your stay there I guarantee that for you I'm a Yorkshire man from Sheffield and I always say what I see this site was the dogs dangly bits brilliant

Nice site, lovely beach and spacious pitches, secure and pleasant on gate. Be aware that some pitches can be dusty/stony - ours was but others were nice and grassy so bear this in mind when choosing your pitch. Club allows smokers. No changing facilities at pool. Only thing we found really disappointing was the poor washing up facilities - 1 standard size kitchen sink, in toilet block, opposite urinals with intermittent hot water from silly press tap. Don't know whether there were better facilities in other blocks but we are used to rows of big sinks with loads of hot water. Showers ok - on timers but with pull switches so don't turn off every 30 seconds.

Having visited 3 campsites in Cornwall in 6 weeks, St Ives Bay came 3rd on my list. It is a very large site that caters for statics as well as all types of campers. The facilities were good but the drainage/layout of shower blocks need attention. There is a wonderful beach near the site, with outstanding views from St Ives to the Godrevy Light House but it is a 20 minute walk to get there and access is difficult. The takeaway meals at the beach were very good and the shop was very well stocked.
I thought the pitches were average and felt a little overcrowded. I didn't like other campers walking/cycling through our pitch to get to the toilet block and would recommend clearly marking the pitch boundaries with windbreaks. I would also recommend ear plugs as the nearby road was quite noisy, particularly on the Friday night. I would give it 7 out of 10

Spent the first week of our two weeks holiday here and was not disappointed. Other reviewers have covered most of the good points. Huge site and the beach borders the edge of it and what a fantastic beach it is. Went to the club house just the once and it was very busy. If that's what you go for it appeared well run and I have seen worse. Pitches are on the small side for tourers in my opinion. Despite the club and size of the site it was very quiet at night. Our toilet block was large, modern and very clean and I only queued once for a shower for 5 mnutes at most (not bad for the first week of the school hols). Very limited dealings with the staff but they seemed friendly enough. Good location to see this part of Cornwall. St Michael's Mount is well worth a visit. Lidls supermarket 2 minutes by car. I would definitely come back here again if I was holidaying in this area.

Spent 1 week here in July. This site was very good. Located within the many sand dunes around the area and this is what seperates you from the lovey sandy beaches. You have a 3 mile stretch of golden sands right on your doorstep. The site itself is very large but gives you a more smaller intimate feel with having bays that have around 8 - 10 pitches available. Also on site is a large club which children are allowed and has entertainment on each evening - if that is what you are looking for. Also indoor swimming pool (no changing facilities - apart from benches around pool area). Well stocked shop. Kids games room. Takeaway avail every night and currently Pizza van on site twice a week. Overall this is a lovely site with plenty to keep the family entertained we would love to return one day - we are based in Scotland so it is a fair trek!

Good reception at the gate; we were allowed to roam the campsite to see if we'd like to stay there. Site was very nice and price was very reasonable so we stayed for three nights on a spacy touring pitch with EHU in the "500" field. Good views on the seaside and the Gwithian lighthouse. Stunningly nice beach, easy to get lost in sanddunes. Great surfing possibilities. Beach-angling is permitted. Cycle allong the road to Gwithian lighthouse and be stunned by the views, rest and relaxation. When lucky, you can see seals. Campsite has a very well stocked shop with competative prices and nice, helpful staff. Good entertainment in several locations on the campsite. Children will be "away" from the pitch in various adventures, leaving the parents all the R&R they could wish for, if that's what they are looking for. A bit loud at pub closing time but all kept socially acceptable and in good athmosphere. Security officers patrol at night. We will visit again.
