What a great site! We had the most fantastic view from our tent across the sand-dunes out to sea and Godreevy lighthouse. It is a very big site but still managed to keep the friendly and spacious campsite feel. Literally 100's of pitches, some with sea views, some more sheltered etc. The toilets and showers were immaculate, the shop was very reasonably priced, the cafe was also very good prices. This makes a massive change from the extortionate prices charged by the likes of Haven etc. Our stay was not during the school holidays but most of the plus points would not be affected by more campers. The site has a lovely heated indoor pool, and is next to miles of sandy beach (through the sand-dunes). During the evenings there is entertainment for both adults and children (separately!) which is good as bingo does get boring for most people, as does children's party dances so it excellent to split the two groups of people. At a bargain price of £84 for a week (£12 per night?) - a little more for EHU this is also great value. Definitely recommended and we shall return!

July 2005 Excellent campsite, would recommend site to anyone, this was our 2nd visit and it won't be our last. Toilet and shower facilities kept very clean, and the showers are free and have plugs all important for hairdryers. Good size shop reasonably priced, club house and bars for evening entertainment if you want it. Plenty to keep children busy with games room and swimming pool.
Site has a fantastic clean beach which doesnt get over crowded. Lots of security on the site which is good to see. Good family site. Nice to be able to pick own pitch, the 700's are excellent with fantastic views of the sea, watch your gazebo though if it gets a bit breezy. Will definetly be visiting site again.

May 2005 Brilliant chilled out place to be. plenty of lovely walks or a spot of fishing if that's not your thing sit back relax and enjoy (we certainly do!!) Great safe place for all the family, friendly people great atmosphere once been here you will be hooked!!
Settle down in the evening with an open fire and some chilled out music and a glass of wine or two who could ask for more!
Local pub food good if dont fancy cooking and local shop is well stocked with all your everyday needs.
Cider farm and tea rooms is also a bonus which are also very local.

Entertainment every night for children and adults, bingo, swimming pool good restuarant, take away where you can sit watch out to sea while you eat . Lovely clean beach, good size pitches nice clean toilet blocks with plenty hot water .Great launderette where you actually get clean clothes .Big well equipped shop what more can you ask for. less than £100 week first week in July superb value for money is my opinion

July 2004 This is a holiday camp rather than a camp site. There is lots of organised entertainment with on site pool and bars. In our opinion it will suit those who have teenage children and those looking for Karaoke, Bingo type clubs. We found it a bit too big and a little too noisy for our younger family.
Good access to the beach, although Gwithian, a few miles up the road, offered a more interesting beach, with rock pools and surf to play in (Parking £2 per day/ Free for National Trust members). Pitches were of good size and the allocation of Sunday to Sunday areas meant we were not woken up with the Saturday changeover. Showers were hot and plentiful. They were cleaned twice per day and could have benefitted with an extra clean.
Friends who have been here out of season and without electric hook up have found quieter areas within the site.

August 2003 An excellent site. We were 4 families camping in tents. We booked 3 pitches that gaves us 1 whole level to ourselves (apart from 1 other unit) in a cul de sac overlooking the beach (a bit breezy at times). A good 10 minute walk to the beach - which is one of the best I have visited in the world. 12 children in our group - no-one ever got bored. Usual entertainment, big, busy, smokey club house!! - hey you can't have everything. Excellent indoor swimming pool overlooking the Bay. Excellent, clean shower, toilet block, never had to queue although the site was full. Very good value for money. One of the group has booked to go back this year with her family and I will definately visit again in the next few years.

various A very good site, I have used it for both challetsand camping, some camping pitches are right by the dunes (200 yards to the beach).
It's a very great shame they no longer accept pets, as this now stops us using them.
Prices are ok, clean but too far to walk into town.
Open it up to pets again and I'll start visiting again.

july 2003 I found St Ives to be an average site, nice large pitches, clean facilities and lots for children. however if you have small children and don't wish to drive every where, the beach, swimming pool and club house is a 15 to 20 minute walk if you are on the bottom pitches, you also can quite clearly hear the motorway. not a bad campsite but have been to better in Cornwall

July 2002 We both loved this site - although it was big we found it easy to find our way round. It was perfectly situated and we visited loads of places in Cornwall during our weeks stay. We even stayed and extra night as we didn't wan't to go home! We are in our early twenties and are new to camping - out of the 5 or so sites we have visited we thought this was the best. The big conservatory had quite a big menu which was also fairly cheap. The shop was well stocked and the entertainment was quite good. The showers were clean and although there were only 3 in the block on our field we never had to que ( this is perhaps because people shower at different times). We especially loved the beach only being 5 mins walk away. The staff were friendly and we will definately go back, possibly next year. We wouldn't go to another site in Cornwall. If it wasn't so far to travel (300 miles from where we live) we would go for long/bank holiday weekends.

june/july 2003 A large site with good facilities and near a superb beach and idealy sited for exploring this part of Cornwall A sort of could be heaven could be hell site depending on the time of year (very quiet when we were here but some nutcase with a caravan still parked right next to us although the field was practily empty and freedom of where you pitched was operating)Good sized pitches and reasonably flat Each field has its own toilet/shower block but I can't see these coping with a full site Spoke with one couple who were here when it was full and this proplem was further increased by people in the statics using these blocks because they didn't want to wait for freedom of the bathroom in their caravans large club with entertainment and a few min walk away a swimming pool with a snackbar/restaurant attached, and unfortunatly a smell of chlorine to inhance your tastebuds We are all differant (thank God ) and this site full will appeal to many but not for me just Too big but may use again out of high season 7 out of 10
