Rained all weekend, but we never let that stop us, had a great time on a lovely site with spotless and spacious showers and loos. The shop had everything that we needed. The play park was a hit with all the kids on the site. Kingsbridge is just up the road with a good range of shops, bigbury has a lovely beach we will most definatly be going back.

Another year and another great visit to Pennymoor. Forgive another review but I am a firm believer in up to date information and making sure people know if anything has changed.
With Pennymoor the simple answer is - NO! The welcome is still the friendliest we have ever come across, the toilets and showers are still spotless and lovingly cared for, the hot water is free and plentiful, the shop - 'Bits and Bites' is small but beautifully formed, and the kids have come away with numerous new friends again thanks to the safe and simple playground.
The weather was not kind but who cares when you can enjoy the delights of the south Devon coast, a great site and at least once a week the site shop extending its repertoire (via Cafe Martin) to include home cooked fish and chips!

This is without a doubt one of the best campsites we have ever visited. Firstly, the staff were very kind and extremely helpful ready to give out information about what to do and where to go in the surrounding area. They will even charge up your mobile phone in the shop.
The shop is packed full of everything you could possibly want to buy and the products aren't overpriced. They sell Cornish pasties and other fresh baked goodies such as croissants and iced buns also.
The toilets provided were the best we have ever seen at a campsite as they were clean, modern and well looked after. A cleaner went around all of the toilet blocks at 11am every morning to clean and there was never a queue!
The park was a big hit with most of the children on the campsite congregating there and meeting new friends.
The dog walk was also very good with access to open fields, streams and a woodland. Be warned though, it does get muddy.
The only downside of this campsite that we can think of is the ground it is based on. Although it was good when dry during our holiday it rained quite heavily and frequently causing some areas to become like marsh land. Overall though an excellent campsite, great staff and a perfect base to visit the wonderful surrounding area.

Keep this one quiet. It is a little GEM.
The site is lovely, with a great little shop, play area for the children. Very clean toilets and showers, always hot and nicely kept.
Good location for beaches particularly Bigbury on Sea, and quite close to an organic farm shop.
The wardens were lovely and made us feel very welcome, nothing too much for them to help you. A lovely stretch of grass for dog owners.
We are rebooking to go back this year, it was so good.
All in all excellent value for money.

Now our 4th visit in 3 years! A wet weekend but can't complain as the welcome was as warm as ever, the shop still had yum-yums (highly recommended) and fish and chips from "Cafe Martin" on the Saturday night. What more could you ask for? 2 nights for a family of 4 in a large tent with electric hook up for £28 - bargain!

Our third visit in three years and that should say a lot! The warmest welcome, a great play park that kept the kids entertained for hours, close to Bigbury beach and the beautiful coast path. Sloping pitches, yes, but they are big, well spread out and drain well as a result! Fully recommended.

Excellent Site, Friendly owners and spotlessly clean. A little off the beaten track but not enough to keep us away, highly recommend to any one We travelled to this site after a few days in brean. The pitches were great, the children had hours of fun in the playground.

We booked this site as a weekend get away and found it to be good value. We pitched in the larger field with designated electrical hook up in a flat area but found that quite a lot of that field was very sloped and the owners allowed tents to pitch anywhere. There was also a limited policy on "quiet" after 11:00 - although it would have been better if this had been enforced. We also found the shower block could have done with being cleaner. The children enjoyed the play park and the shop offered some good local produce at reasonable rates. The location of the site is excellent for the beaches in South Devon (Bigbury was a favourite) and the owners recommended some good local pubs.

We're just back from our Easter break at Pennymoor. What can I say - EXCELLENT! The site is perfect - reasonably priced (£46 for 5 nights with electric), good size pitches, lovely shower block and amenities, very friendly owners. I think the only downside is that the showers are push button (thankfully the button is inside the cubicle) and you have to keep pressing it as the water does not stay on for long - it does get frustrating but not enough to keep us away. If you visit this site you will not be disappointed.

Would like to keep this gem of a campsite secret so it isnt spoilt but that would nt be fair on those of you that might be looking for an easy going, clean and friendly site. Its location is an excellent base for exploring south Devon with Dartmoor, Plymouth, some excellent beaches and much more all within an easy journey. Locally Modbury is just down the road and the co-op can is very handy. The site shop has a basic range with excellent bakery products in the morning. The site its self is just the right size and very well looked after. A small play area is ideal for younger kids and there's plenty of room for older kids and adults to entertain themselves with the usual sports events. The toilet/shower facilities were in excellent condition and very clean. With friendly and helpful staff Pennymoor comes with the highest recommendation.
