The first of many pleasant surprises I experienced when I visited this site near the end of July 2012 was the warm and friendly welcome I received from the 'late shift' wardens on my late evening arrival at the site. I was expecting to be 'chewed out' for arriving after usual business hours but instead was made to feel like a long lost son returning home.
After the formalities of booking me in (I had not pre-booked, but arrived 'on spec') I made a few purchases from the (limited) shop stock and was personally escorted to my pitch by one of the wardens.
After setting up my VW T3 campervan for sleeping, I made a visit to the toilet block where I had my next pleasant surprise. The facilities were excellent. They were clean, more than adequate, and one little touch made me smile, but impressed upon me the lengths to which the staff cared. The cup holding the toilet brush contained toilet cleaning fluid so that the brush was always clean and ready to use!
In the morning, I booked again for the following night, and went out to spend the day visiting family who live in Worcester.
Returning that evening, I spent another pleasant night at the site, visiting the mobile fish and chip van where I had a reasonably priced delicious fish and chip supper. Mmmmmm.
I not only booked in for the next night, but became a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club to boot, so impressed was I with the site.
The following day, I needed a couple of bits for the 'van so asked the duty warden for directions to a car parts shop. (There are only very limited retail facilities in the nearby village of Hanley Swan - a butcher, a very pricey pub - The Swan - and a village shop/Post Office). I was given a slip of paper with directions to a Halfords store - postcode WR14 1PZ - where I was able to make my purchases. At this location there are a number of other excellent shops including Morrisons supermarket (and petrol station - but no LPG), Marks and Spencer, a McDonalds, an excellent shoe shop, a pet stores and many others. You could easily spend a day there!
Back at the campsite, I completed the repair to my 'van and explored the rest of the site.
There are grass pitches, hardstanding pitches, pitches with and without electric hook-up, something for everyone in fact.
The roads within the site are tar-macked, so no muddy tracks to deal with during wet weather.
The children's play areas are safe and well equipped and although I had no children of my own with me, the children playing there seemed to be having a fine time! (except for one poor lad who's r/c helicopter had got stuck high up in a tree - in my day it was kites that did that - so much for modern technology!).
There are drinking water taps and grey water disposal drains within a minute's walk of all the pitches. There is one chemical loo disposal point too.
There are good but limited laundry facilities (one washer and one dryer) and three laundry sinks with draining boards for hand washed items. There are adequate dishwashing sinks in a separate room too.
There is a function hall (for when it rains) with many tables and chairs and which also boasts a pool table. There is also a public telephone in this building.
To conclude, I cannot think of anything that this club site lacks (with the possible exception of a snack bar / café and a larger selection of items in the shop) and I will definitely return for future visits. In all, I spent four nights at this site. Thursday night until Monday morning when I departed for home.
This is how a campsite SHOULD be run, and with the C&CC members' discount, a cheaper stay than many run of the mill camp-sites with vastly inferior facilities. 10 out of 10 on all fronts.

Off for a short break the Malverns looked like a good place to be for a night or two and we were not disappointed.
A characteristically warm welcome from the staff and a clean well laid out site. The bus to either Malvern or Worcester stops just outside the site and runs fairly regularly (though slightly early one day which was awkward!).
The walk into Malverns is equally easy and if you like walking a stroll on the hill is a must and there are plenty of good cafes in Malvern!
The only oddity is that one wash block has tepid shower water despite the temperature of water in the block being fine in the basins - the other block is fine. We will return.

I am not going to repeat all that has already been said. This is a lovely friendly spotless site. There is a great butchers in Hanley Swan would recommend the lamb chops.
If I have one gripe, I had to use the laundry whilst we were there and I opened the the door to the washer only to find it full of mop heads used for cleaning toilet floors and showers etc waiting to go into the dryer. If I had not have been desperate I would have walked away.
I have noticed on other club sites that there are notices to say 'respect other users by not washing trainers and pet bedding in these machines'. Surely there should be a separate washer for these items.

Fabulous, a really lovely site, helpful friendly staff, spotlessly clean facilities, great area, easy to find and easy access.
Great areas for children to play, and good clean dog walk. Also the recreation room would be good for rainy days if you are a bigger party, pool table cheap too.
Fish and chip van on site weds / thurs / fri / sat evenings well priced.
Great Malvern is a lovely little town cheap parking so you can have a wander around and stop for lunch, swimming pool in the town also.
The hills give fantastic views, also within easy reach of the cotswolds for even more fantastic views and walks.
We will be returning to this great site.

Lovely site, very well maintained with friendly helpful wardens. We stayed here for two nights at the end of March to try out our new caravan. The friendly warden showed us to our well marked out pitch, and guided us back for perfect positioning.
Our two young children spent the entire weekend on their bikes cycling round and round the site in perfect safety (with me in tow). They also enjoyed the excellent play facilities.
The toilet block was spotless, with good showers and regular inspections. There is also a recreation room by the play park, which provided a warm dry haven for those who wished to use it.
The local village of Hanley Swan has a very good butchers shop, next door to the Swan pub. The pub serves home cooked food, and good real ale, but the food is very pricey for what it is.
Very good site all in all, and one that we would happily go back to.

As always the not so good bit then.
Mmmmmmmmm, thinking hard, mmmmmmmm ok pitch we was giving a bit small for our large unit. Cant think of anything else :)
Now the good bits
Welcome. The wardens were as they proudly claim friendly. They were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Checking in the reception was a breeze, small stock of bits and pieces, paper ordering, and odds and sods. Security entrance to site by code and cameras.
One of the wardens came out and introduced himself to her indoors and our lad then proceeded to guide us to our pitch. He waited talking to her ladyship whilst me and our lady did our duties in setting up.
The pitch we was on was a little small for my liking but as we wasn't putting up the weekend awning it wasn't an issue but if we had then the car would have been on the grass and I am not happy with putting the beast on grass. Its me not anyone else, just me
So onto the facilities, usual grip in the mens with push button showers but they were fine, the disabled facilities are exceptional. Could do with a chair in their and we took our own in the end but a small chair would give it max score
There is a function room alongside the facilities
There is two set of facilities on site, its a big site but well within the capabilities of the facilities to cope with
The site has lighting on the roads not a lot but enough,
There is a mobile fish and chip shop outside the site selling chips, fish, pies, fishcakes and sausages. They are lovely, freshly cooked and well priced.
So the big question from us is would we go back
Too right we will be going back. As with all C&C Sites it pay up front with deposit which is fine if your booking short notice which we generally do. Outstanding wardens, outstanding site. And yes we will be back

I have used this site twice, 4 nights (for price of 3 offer) just before high season, and 2 nights just after. In both cases I booked a pitch with hardstanding (gravel) + EHU and used my utility tent on the back of the 'van.
In July I was next to the open grass area behind the main block; in September I was near the exit and recycling/motorhome service point.
The gents toilet/shower block has 4 showers, 4 toilet cubicles and several washroom cubicles; the block was never busy but I have never been on-site during peak season, which explains why the site has always been pretty quiet and great to chill-out on, or even get some work done. There is not a great deal near the site so everyone heads off for the day by car/van/bike leaving the place peaceful apart from the lawnmower.
Mind you, Tuesday morning the rubbish collection lorry turned up at 8am and was as noisy as expected - not good for anyone trying to sleep in!
The main block also has a washing-up room and laundry room; there is a second block open during the busier months that I have never used, which must help spread the load. The wardens have always been chatty and helpful and there is plenty of information in the reception block.
Hanley Swan is a 10-15 minute walk away and has a butcher and general store/post office. I have not visited the pub/restaurant/hotel (The Swan) yet.
Great Malvern is about a 5 minute drive away but I found it pretty disappointing (the Waitrose store was the highlight, and this is from someone who generally hates shopping); however I did enjoy several hours walking up and down the Malvern Hills with their great views.
Upton-on-Severn is also about 5 minutes away driving and I actually preferred that when I needed to buy some essentials - easy to leave the 'van on the outskirts in the big car park near the petrol station.

As per usual for a C&CC site, we weren't disappointed. The loo/shower block was always spotless, the staff are lovely and friendly, and even the weather cleared up!
We stayed for my birthday(august bank hol) which is also my father-in-laws birthday;he was booked in there too so we could celebrate together. Once the staff discovered this, they arranged for us to have pitches next to each other which was brilliant! The hardstanding pitches are fab-room for a caravan and awning-and don't get too wet!
Upton-on Severn is only a few miles away and always seems to have a festival of some kind going on at a Bank Holiday which are always worth a visit. This time it was a music festival and the little town was a hive of activity;craft shows, art shows, street traders etc. Fab!
A previous 'reviewer' was disappointed at the town of Malvern(which was actually bigger than I thought), but if you drive through the town and just keep on going-following the road upwards-you can almost get to the top of the Malvern Hills. On the way there are lots of places to park and go walking, but we took the lazy way!The views are absolutely amazing! They take your breath away-you can literally see for miles and miles and miles. Well worth it!
Hanley Swan has a couple of lovely pubs-and Caravan stuff 4 you is based there so hubby just had to go!-and a Londis minimarket.
Noise was at a minimum on the site in the evenings and we slept well!Daily newspapers can be ordered each day for the following day.
Love this site-have been before and will go again!

A really nice site, the showers are excellent, as normal with the Caravan Club. There are proper taps, not push in variety, it was just a shame that there are no plugs in the basins.
Toilets are spotless. Wardens are very helpful, only real gripe is that there are no TV hook ups on the EHU. A lot of people moaned that they could not get a signal with their sat dishes.
Pub, The Swan, is about 20 mins walk up the road, 3 real ales on tap which are poured correctly!
Bus stops outside the site every hour, but be early, sometimes the driver is a few minutes early. Beautiful views and sunsets over the Malvern Hills, lovely way to spend an evening.
All in all I would recommend this site, but bring a plug!

Just returned from a 2 night break at Blackmore and I must say that I think this is one of the cleanest sites I have stayed on. The washing blocks are immaculate and always clean and the showers are lovely, warm and powerful. The pitches are nice and level and very secluded. I would say it was a bit overpriced for what you get though.
My only down point about this site is that there seems to be alot of rules and regulations which can be a little annoying as you feel that you are being observed all the time by the staff who always seemed to be around. It was as if they were watching and waiting for an opportunity to pounce. We were ideal campers as far as im concerned, We had drinks with our friends and were all in bed by 10pm so there was no noise from us, but even then it was hard to relax.
Overall this was a pleasant site, I probably wouldn't return simply because there are so many more to try and in my opinion it didn't have the greatest atmosphere.
