I have to say agree totally with Annilou's review. Would agree with her view of wardens too. Not over friendly or accommodating. However,it was a nice clean site overall and loo/shower block superb. Ducks / wild rabbits an attraction too.
I was shocked, particularly as this is a Caravan and Camping Club site, at how close together some of the pitches were. Our unit was only about a metre, if that from the unit behind us. But then we haven't used many C&CC club sites and perhaps expected too much after reading their literature. The units opposite us were on hardly more than a verge by the campsite track.
Road noise could be quite intrusive, depending on wind direction although our pitch was one of furthest from road (had requested this after reading reviews!)and so furthest from loo block too.Although it wasn't too much of a hike, and all on gravelled, lit paths.
We felt it was quite an 'adult' park. Again is this true of all C&CC club sites? Very small play area with couple of swings, slide and tiny area to play ball on, our back garden is bigger. Nowhere to play family cricket etc. But I presume a bigger play area means they can fit less units on = less profit so can't blame them, it is a business.
There are plenty of nice walks in the area, steam railway nearby and all the attractions of Bourton in the Water and other Cotswolds villages.
We would perhaps return, for the loo and shower block! For us it isn't really what camping is about. Not enough room on the site. They have tried to fit too many pitches on the area.

Positives
Nice site Well maintained Well situated for activities Great loos and shower block Plenty of water and waste points Parent and child room clean and well maintained Good play area Rec room for the kids Good info point Ducks and lake an attraction
Negatives
Tight to drive unit around when full Only one loo/shower block quite a walk from the family area when you have two reluctant kids and a bag of gear Only one CDP and bin area - again, quite a walk from the family area when you have a full cassette and bin bag Was very busy on the weekend and units seemed very close together Owners quite strict on arrival time. Will not see you until 12.00 on the dot despite queue of vans blocking entrance/exit. Office/shop only open for 1 hour in the morning.

Lovely site one of the best toilets and showers we have used, so clean at all times. Having read the reviews the site must have been updated since then and may I say to a high standard four or five showers new tiles all push button and flowers and plants too, they are really very nice. Wardens very friendly and helpful at all times. Ducks lovely they woke me every morning for breakfast. Road can be noisy at times.
Bishops Cleve not far away and has shops takeaways etc. Many places to visit too many to mention but there is a place near to reception that has all the information you need for your stay. Mobile phones do not work! you will need to use the payphone near reception, if you are lucky there is a bench near the children's play area where a handfull of people could get a short conversation. We were pitch 21 near the trees and we were blessed with hot weather, however we were covered in bites. A small price to pay for a lovely 4 nights on a great site with spotless facilities. We will be back.

Spent the New Year here and would summarise as follows:
Good points:
1. Well laid out site, nice spacious pitches, good location, easy to find, close to the M5
2. Large fishing lake (for those that like that kind of thing) which made for a lovely view from our van window
3. Exceptionally helpful wardens
4. Very clean facilities
5. Good recreation room for the kids
Bad points:
1. Road noise. The noise from the passing traffic was very noticable during the day. Didn't keep us awake at night but those closer to the road may not have been so lucky.
2. Showers on the small side (but plenty of hot water while we were there)
3. Washing up facilities are outdoor - not a problem in the warmer months but not so good in January!
4. We were told that there was to be major refurbishment of the shower blocks in early 2010 but that this would be 'pinching' space from the rec room. Pity they couldn't just extend the shower blocks for these improvements and leave the recreation room as it is.
The village of Winchcombe itself is about 10 minutes away by car - nice village with a good selection of pubs/shops/takeaways. We used the chinese takeaway there - leaflets in the information room. The food was very tasty.
First taste of winter caravanning for us and we all enjoyed it. Would use the site again.

Nice site in a great location to explore the surrounding area. While we were there it was not full but there were plenty of comings and goings. Most of the pitches seemed to be hardstanding and therefore it was mostly caravans and motorhomes with fewer tents. We were on a grass EHU pitch and these are arranged along the edge of the site away from the road and in sight of the children's play area which was great as we could let our two go over on their own. It was very windy while we were there and it seems that the local geography funnels the wind along either one of two gaps in the surrounding hills, I mention this simply because you might want to pitch your tent facing into the hedge rather than away to get a bit of shelter as your cocopops can blow clean out of your bowl!
There is fishing in the lake and there are plenty of roach but despite my husband's best efforts, the carp eluded him. There are also lots of ducks which waddle round the site looking for titbits and are obliging when the children want to chase them.
The toilets were OK, clean and no queueing with no pushbutton on the showers, but the hot water varied during the day and some cubicles had better water pressure than others. I would have liked a children's room the same as I have used on other sites, with a large sink big enough to wash a baby or to scrub toddler's feet in (this is impossible to do in the shower!) and I feel they could easily incorporate this into their disabled facilities which are very large.
The washing up facilities were good with bowls and drainers provided but we got caught out on the last day as they were closed for cleaning when we wanted to wash our last dishes and we had to take a bowlful home dirty. The laundry facilities were great as there was an extremely efficient washing machine and drier, 20mins was all I needed to get my whole load dry.
The games room is still closed due to a leak.
There is an information room on site with a good map and some literature and local menus. We had Thai take-away from the Pheasant Inn in Toddington (2-3miles east) which is on the roundabout and next to a small Spar. This was excellent and much better than the slightly unpromising impression that the pub gives. You can also phone ahead to order. We also ate at the Gardners Arms and this was nice and they have very good beer, but you wouldn't want to walk there as you have to go along the main road with no pavement.
We went to Bishop's Cleve to go to Tesco but could not find anything else interesting there, except a good selection of take-aways, but they might be a bit far away. The Morrison in Tewksbury was very nice and before you get that far, just before the M5 junction on the same road is a BP garage with an M&S Simply Food.
There are some very good local shops, Butchers etc and an old fashioned sweet shop, pubs and a Coop in Winchcombe which is also very pretty.
Sudely Castle in Winchcombe was nice and had a good adventure playground but you can't go into much of the castle itself, only really the grounds. Bourton on the Water is very pretty and good fun for paddling in the river but it is heaving with tourists and tourist shops and we had a very dissappointing cream tea (microwaved scones and jam in a plastic tub) in the Windrush Garden Cafe, and it inexplicabbly closed at 4.30 in the height of the season, but I can't speak for the other cafes of which there are many. It is a good place to visit though as there are actually four attractions in the same village, which wasn't clear from the many leaflets that you pick up. The Cotswold Motor Museum, the Model Railway museum, the Model Village and the Birdworld type place. We only went to the Motor museum and fould it utterly charming, very well put together with lots of details and local history and also the real Brum which my children were very excited about. We went round in just over an hour, but if you were an enthusiast you could easily spend much longer and it was excellent value at 11.60 for a family ticket.
Before I sign off from my War and Peace type epic I must just tell you about the wonderful pottery at Conderton (off the first roundabout back towards Tewksbury). It is the studio and showroom of Toff (can't remeber his surname will add later when I have checked) and his work is completely lovely and only available from the pottery direct. If you like unusual ceramics you will love his salt-glazed work, the big pieces are rather expensive but there are some smaller more reasonably priced things. The studio is surrounded by orchards and is in a pretty village so it's worth a small detour.

This site is a perfect base for touring the cotswolds and further afield.
The site was clean, neat and tidy. The toilet facilities were very clean, with enough toilets. The ladies had 4 showers, 2 normal sized and 2 cramped ones smaller than a toilet cubicle. The showers were lovely, lots of hot water with no button to press.
There was a lovely play area for the children and an area to play ball games in.
A dog walking field is also available.
A beautiful fishing lake is on site also, as well as the resident ducks which the children enoyed feeding.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with any query.
There is only one toilet block which is situated near reception. This is okay if you were near to it, as the majority of the caravanners were.
However we felt we were penalised for being a tent with electric as we were sent to pitch at the far end of the site, which then took 3 or 4 minutes to wander to the toilets, so we had to set off in plenty of good time. We had no toilet facilities of our own, so if you wanted too go in the night, it was a dark walk and a long one too.
However if you are a tent without electric, there was a field adjacent to the toilet area :(
We wouldn't hesitate to book again, but am afraid the lack of toilet facilities at the far end puts us off

This was my first experience of a caravan and camping club site and I wish we hadnt bothered! We signed in and followed the warden to our pitch. Despite having been given the size of the tents in advance (13') he told us if the tent was any bigger we would have to leave the site there and then!
The toilets and showers were ok, closed for an hour a day from 11 - 12 for cleaning which meant that anyone needing the toilet would have to use the one remaining disabled toilet for the whole site!
The shop was open between 9 and 10:30 and again between 4:00 and 5:00.
It was not child friendly (our children were told they couldn't go on one half of the site as it was adults only - but there were no signs to say this and there were children camping with parents in a tent there), the play area was very small - our children were 10 and up, and the facilities were much too small for them. The ball area was tiny and the recreation room was closed due to a water leak!
We could only use electric hook up for one tent as the other tent was 50 metres away from hook up and our lead was not long enough.
The site is beautiful and the surrounding area deserves a visit

This was our first site visit since returning to the world of camping.
Great welcome from the site team. Very well maintained site, small shop, launderette and all the shower/washing/washing up facilities you would expect. Our pitch was excellent backing onto open fields with loveley views. Our tent is quite large but this didn't pose any problem.
Loads of great places to visit nearby( we both fell in love with Winchcombe) and there are some fantastic pubs in the area although you do really have to use the car for each visit.
Points against:The site would benefit from building a small shower/toilet block near to the lower camping area/the recreation room was out of use whilst we were there(a bad leak!)/ milk in shop 65p for a pint.
However I want to finish on a positive because overall we were very happy with the site and will one day return.

WARNING: On arrival reception was very polite. Site manager took us to our pitches. Informed us (even though we had given our tent sizes on booking) that if our tents were over a certain size we would be taking them down and would be told to leave! Told us exactly where to pitch our tents literally to the inch! talked to us like he was doing us a favour letting us stay, not like full paying customers. On other note family room was closed the whole visit, reception is open for 1 1/2 hours in morning as is shop. Area is amazing, views outstanding, local pub, a mile to the left as you come out of site, is fantastic for food. All other staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic walk around a local village called Guyti Power, beautiful, beautiful views and place.

This is a well maintained site with a charming fishing lake and some friendly ducks!
The pitches were level and of a good size and we had a choice of camping near the facilities block which is near the busy B road (noisy on weekday rush hours) or at the opposite end of the campsite away from the facilities block.
The toilet, shower and washing up facilities were clean with free running hot water at all times (even if they were a little dated). There were only 4-5 of each but we didn't queue at all on a busy weekend. The toilets are locked at night (I don't know why?!) so make sure you remember the door code or you'll risk getting caught short!
The dog walk was great for those early morning and late night comfort walks.
Ideally located just off Junction 9 of the M5 and close to many Cotswold attractions, as well as the Malverns and the Forest of Dean.
The holiday site assistants were extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the management.
There was a small shop on site for essentials. Winchcombe is a short drive away for larger shopping requirements and tourist information.
We were provided with a voucher fot 15% off at a local pub (Gardners Arms). However we found Hobnails (Carvery) and Royal Oak in Gretton (make sure you book) were better choices.
All in all, a pleasant campsite, ideally located for exploring the surrounding area.
