Excellent site, well set out and with brand new everything. I have high expectations of club sites and I would say this site is probably the best club site we have been on.
The location is spot on and I would think is long overdue for this area so well done there. The pub is a pleasant stroll up the hill and worth the effort for both the view and the friendly service. We wandered in to discover I had left my wallet in the van and had only loose change, just enough to buy a Guinness and a wine (phew).
The owners of the site were friendly and provided an 'arrival pack' with lots of info in it.
The campervan service point was well laid out and easy to fill up and empty as required, no fuss (unlike some sites)
I would be happy to return to this site again.

What a fantastic site.
Brilliant position, great views, lovely walks and the facilities were the best we found on our 5 week tour of the highlands.
Best of all, however, were the wardens, who were the most enthusiastic and helpful we have EVER come across in all our years of touring in our motorhome! Nothing was too much trouble - absolute stars!

We have had a three week holiday in Scotland and this site was our last before heading home.
Wow. From the moment you experience the friendly reception things just get better.
The owners of the site are doing a fantastic job, this site is almost new so the plants are not yet established when they are it will go from being fantastic to. Can I say perfect.
The owners are seasoned campers and as so have really thought about their site and how they can provide the best experience possible.
The design of the buildings and the Pitches are very well thought out. Providing picnic benches, a children's play area situated well away from any cars/Motorhomes moving around the site. The reception area is lovely and inviting with seating, a drinks dispenser, books to read, information leaflets and even a children's area.
The facilities are the best I've seen at a camping and caravan club site. Immaculate and with lovely large shower cubicles. The laundry has two very large washing machines and a dryer and they have even thought to provide washing lines with pegs.
There is a lovely dog walk on site, small but adequate as there are so many lovely walks direct from site.
We had a walk up to Foyers falls and enjoyed a lovely homemade cake and coffee at the café just above the falls.
The owners recommended a meal at the Craigdarroch Pub just a 15 minuet walk away, the food was homemade and delicious, best of all it's dog friendly, so we could enjoy a meal out which doesn't often happen when we are camping.
If in Scotland and visiting the Loch Ness area I wouldn't hesitate to stop at this wonderful site and would highly recommend it to others. The site is maintained to an extremely high standard, the staff are very friendly and informative. We wish them all the very best with their new business, it can only go from strength to strength.

This site is proper good, best site I've stayed at.
I would watch which way you go, go the way the site recommends as a sat nav depending on which way you come from may send you down very narrow single track roads, but the way they recommend are frequently used by lorries so you'll have little issue with caravans.
There are excellent views of Loch Ness from pretty much anywhere on the site. I don't think it is the most sheltered of sites but that's not much of an issue.
The toilet blocks look awesome, the building. Inside they are spotless, there's multiple toilet cubicles, a few shower only cubicles and few toilet, shower, sink cubicles. All have plenty space. The only issue I found here was that the toilet got a bit wet from the shower water. There are also signs to laundry, but I didn't go in here so can't comment.
Outside the toilet block there is a washing up place, which are undercover because of the roof bit of the building. And there is a dog tie up ring with a bowl of water outside the toilet block.
Reception building is also lovely, there tables and chairs inside and leaflets about the local area and there is another dog tie up ring outside.
The site has an automatic barrier to get in and out.
There is a one way system round the site, the road around the site isn't too bad, it's a sort a gravelly dusty road, that's not the best way to describe it but yeah. The only issue here is that it's a tad dusty when it's windy and a car drives over it but this will probably be less once the road is more used and it's compacted.
The grass is lovely up top and down the bottom it is a tad patchy in a few places.
There are grey pillars which have EHU and a water tap on the back at frequent intervals around the site. The ground is rocky so rock pegs and mallet are a must.
I do no have children but it feels quite child friendly, because of the playground, the grassy area to have an area away from all the tents to kick a ball about and the rooms with the toilet, shower, sink so there is a bit more space and a few other things. There is a playground at the top end surrounded by a small fence, it's got a slide and swings, one a normal one and one a toddler swing. There is also a sand pit. Behind the playground is a grassy area which had to small goalposts.
This area also has a reasonable sized wooden shelter. A picnic bench is also outside this.
When you check in you get a welcome pack which has a few local walks and pubs and a few other local things.
There is a dog walk which is just outside the barrier, it goes alongside the river and then along the shore of Loch Ness, it is very pretty. There are wild flowers and lots of wee birds here.
Overall, it is a very good site and I will definitely go back.

What a wonderful site this is an instant favourite. The owner and the team have obviously put in a huge amount of effort to get where they have since the place opened last Summer. The warmer weather is making the grass grow and it is filling in nicely. Some work continuing to lay down extra pathways; all of which are covered in gravel- which means you are not treading mud everywhere- great idea.
The facilities block is one of the best-designed, really eco-friendly too (a shame that there was a rather grumpy reviewer complaining that the under-floor heating was not on. In August(!) and there seemed to be plenty of hooks to hang things on too).
Access roads are mainly shown on the map as single-track with passing places but the road South from Inverness should not pose a problem for those towing vans; the section from Inverness to Dores is dual track and even the single-track from Dores to the site is pretty wide with good line of sight between the many passing places. Over the hill road from Fort Augustus should be no problem for motor-vans, after all the logging lorries and tarmac wagons manage to get through! If towing from Fort Augustus, it might be better to travel up the other side of the Loch on the A82 to Inverness, then come back through Dores, if you are concerned.
The site has a superb playground for kids on the top field; it is one of the few places with direct access to Loch Ness and there are loads of walking and cycling trails nearby.
The RAF and USAF put on fly-pasts from time to time; we saw Tornado, F16, Apache, Chinook and Hercules; didn't find these at all intrusive, as they are past in seconds- best free airshow I've ever seen!
I highly recommend this site- one of the best we've stayed on in 40+ years, anywhere in Europe.

Stayed at this site as a last minute thing due to an unforeseen event during a canoeing trip through the great glen. Upon meeting the wardens they where fantastic they helped us to dry out all our kit while they enabled us to get our tents pitched for the night. Pointed us in the direction of the showers which by the way where spotless as if no one had been there. You could literally eat of the floor. Beautiful site excellent people amazing views. Will definitely be taking the family. Site had a great looking kids play area.

If there is a better camp site in Scotland we haven't found it. Fantastic location, amazing facilities and very friendly managers. Children play area the best we have ever seen and we have recommended it to our friends and family. Well done , you have created something you can be very proud of. The last few miles were single track road, but plenty of passing places and amazing scenery. Can't wait until we head north again, we'll certainly be back.

We arrived on Fri as directed around 2pm and was given a really warm welcome by the owners. After Booking in we were invited to select our Pitch and being told that the Super Pitches were slightly more expensive as the lower ones. We selected a Super pitch as the view over the Loch was stunning. On enquiring about the surrounding area and places of interest the Staff could not have been more helpful. The facilities were spotless and of the highest standard. It is early days for the paths and vegetation but I am sure that in the near future they will match the standard of the rest of the rest of the site.

We just loved this site. Right on the shores of Loch Ness with breath taking views and the walk up to the shop\café via the falls was also beautiful. What a place to soothe the soul. The showers and toilets are immaculate and the staff just could not have been more helpful or friendly. The children loved paddling about in their small boats in the nearby (very shallow and safe) stream and the play area kept them happy too. The site is still evolving, so it would be good to ensure you have some food supplies with you when you arrive. I am sure the shop up the hill will adapt to having regular campers nearby and I believe the site itself plans for some more facilities. There is also a bus stop very close that takes you into Inverness which is worth checking out, again beautiful views all the way. Great if you truly do want to get away from it all somewhere really beautiful.

Having read about this site in the monthly members magazine, we thought we should give it a try, and we weren't disappointed!
We booked for 2 nights and stayed for 3, and would have liked to stay longer. But we had other places to go and do.
The toilets and showers are good and clean and warm, and everything else about the site is great.
As the name suggests it really is right on the shore of Scotlands most magical Loch, the views are fantastic, the walks endless, and don't be put off by the the location of the pub, it really is worth the walk(and it's dog friendly), and make sure you walk back via the falls.
Only one thing, not enough hooks in the showers, but sure this is in hand.
Hope to go back one day soon.
