Where can I start. This site is fantastic. The owners Brian & Sue are lovely and extremely helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. The other members of staff are equally as helpful and always greeted you with a smile and a hello.
The pitches were large (we had ehu and the brilliant sea view). The shower/toilet block always had hot water, I never had to queue for a shower. The dishwashing/laundry facilities were very good here as well, four sinks/drainers & there was two large washing machines (token operated) and two large tumble dryers(token operated). There was another dishwashing place in the camping field but I did not use this one.
There is a large marquee with plenty of seating inside, just outside here is a snack bar and a shop selling beach type of toys. There is a lovely pirate ship play area for the younger children and games tables for the older ones. The shop/reception at the entrance is currently housed in a chalet whilst the new shop/reception block is being built. There was a good choice of essential items as well as freshly baked bread.
The beach is approx. 5-10 min walk away, 10-15 mins back up. We drove down a few times and never had trouble parking (£3.00 per day). The nearest main supermarket could be found in Helston (Tesco), and slightly further afield on the outskirts of Falmouth was the biggest Asda I have been in. We will be going back next year.

Brian & Sue really did a great job at ensuring that everyone had a great time, thanks to you both, and also all the other staff who worked so hard.
A new shop/reception and games room is being built at the entrance that will enhance this site even more.
On arrival you go past the statics/chalets onto the touring field where you are met with one of the best views that we have seen from any campsite, with many pitches having wonderful sea views, all the pitches are big, some huge , and many with EHU.
We had some very heavy rain during our stay, but unlike many sites in the area, they kept the site open and dealt with it the best they could, the new roads around the site helped and in parts that the roads ended, Brian and Steve laid matting and stones to help cope, the toilet / shower block was cleaned lots of times during the day, it really was a never ending battle with the mud, but the cleaner always had a smile on her face, even though the site was busy, the showers and water was always hot :o)
Two dish washing areas are provided, one at the toilet/shower block and another provided in a shed in one of the fields, again the water was always hot.
Two industrial washing machines and dryers were provided, it cost £7.50 for a wash and dry, but, they were very large and you could fit in lots of washing, so for the amount that you could wash and dry we thought that it was good value.
A catering unit is provided, that was open in the mornings for bacon butties, tea / coffee etc and in the afternoons for tea / cakes and the evening for hot food :o), next to the catering unit is 'shack a Carne' selling beach goods, soft drinks, ice-creams and sweets etc. Great idea :o)
A huge marquee is provided, this makes a great meeting area for a chat and a drink with fellow campers.
Fire baskets and chimeneas are dotted around the park for everyone to use, again another brill idea from the owners.
The beach 'Kennack Sands' is a 10 minute walk down the road, and 20 minutes back up, one side is even doggie friendly.
This is the most relaxed park that we have visited, no need to go to bed by 9pm, great place to sit around a fire basket with fellow campers having a beer and watching the stars, I saw 5 shooting stars (never seen one before :o) )
Our kids will miss seeing 'Auntie Sue' in the mornings whilst buying their sweets, drinks etc.

Had a fantastic 2 weeks on this site, the family didn't want to leave.
Only about a 10 min walk down to Kennack Sands, but quite steep if you walk the road, there is a way across the fields, but I was unable to find the way.
Small temp shop which held the basics and freshly baked bread everyday, also nearer the camping area is a snack bar selling hot food which came in useful on the odd occasion and also a little shop selling drinks, sweets and beach things. The games room (tent) is near the camping area, so you can keep and eye on the kids. Only 4 toliets and showers but were cleaned 3 times a day and I never needed to queue.
The chimeneas were a lovely touch dotted around the campsite and a great area for exercising the dogs. The campsite is a credit to the owners who are working hard to change things for us modest campers. Would have no hesitation going back.

The owners Sue and Brian were welcoming, hospitable and helpful, as were all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. We were given a pack on arrival with leaflets ect for all the surrounding attractions which was very helpful.
Our pitch was large with EHU.
The facilities were cleaned numerous times each day and hot water was available 24hrs a day, the marquee is a great meeting place and the snack bar did fab bacon butties!
The shop was open all day and the warm fresh baked bread every moorning was a winner with us.
There is a new reception and shop building being built.
There's lots of space for the kids to play and fly kites ect, a fab pirate ship for the younger ones and under cover pool table and air hockey, outdoor skittle alley and table tennis . A short walk away from the lifeguarded beach and lots to see and do in the area, the Segways at Goonhilly are a must!

Well what a brilliant site this is. I stayed here last year and returned again this year to see the amazing work that has been done. New roads, drainage and more electric. They have a marquee to sit and eat, food outlet for breakfast and evening, on site shop, and a hut for beach supplies. Extra washing facilities, the toilet block had been refitted and tiled, and large gazebo with pool and air hockey, table tennis etc. There is loads to do and the site is fantastic. Thanks to Brian & Sue and also Steve. Very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

What a fantastic site, the best I have ever been on. Fabulous views of the sea, down to Kennack Sands. The pitches are very generous and all marked out, and some like mine had a chimnea. Shower block kept nice and clean and water wonderfully hot, all included in the price. Also an excellent wash-up area complete with washing machines and tumble dryers. Extensive work has been done by the owners, Brian and Sue to make this site first class and the only place to stay in Kuggar.
Kennack Sands are a 10 minute walk away and there is a lovely beach there for dogs too, Barney loved it. There are some very beautiful coves all within a 5 mile radius and great coastal walks.
There are plenty of open spaces for children to run around, and a nice dedicated play area as well for younger ones. There is a games marquee with pool and table football etc. A large marquee is also available with rustic tables if you want to get together in the evening. Hot food will also be available.
I have had such a lovely week at Chy Carne, and made so welcome (I was camping on my own, well except for my dog Barney) by all, can't wait until late August when I am am going back for another week.

Just spent a week here on a UKCS meet and overall this is a good site but let down by the following.
Not enough showers (4 ladies) and in need of refurbishment with one having mould on the walls. I had to wait every time I wanted a shower. Not helped by the weather but floor in toilet block/shower cubicles always dirty. Could be helped by a large absorbent mat in the entrance and squeegys/mops to enable the shower floor to be cleaned before leaving the shower.
£7.50 for a wash/dry is expensive, luckily I took loads of clothes but others weren't impressed with the cost.
Good points, lovely location with sea views from some pitches, spacious flat pitches on top field but non ehu pitches at bottom of site sloping.
Excellent marquee, snack bar and well stocked shop, friendly owners, good washing up facilities and good play area for younger children (under 8yrs really) Would be nice to have another play area for older ones with some swings/ climbing frame.

Great Atmosphere, helpful owners, good base for travelling. Shop stocks most things, inc toys, food, camping bits etc.Local Beach not far but not good if you have trouble walking as it is down a steep road although you can drive and park there I don't think the charges were too bad. My kids loved it and on the nice days went down with there bodyboards! Toilets, showers ok, free and hot but not enough of them at peak times although if you went later in the day they was no need to queue.2 washing machines and dryers which are huge takes about twice as much as a machine at home. £7.50 if you want to wash and dry a load but you can just wash if its nice weather and you have somewhere to dry clothes. This is not as expensive as taking it to a local launderette as one of our neighbours did this and it worked out more money! If you want complete peace and quiet it may not be for you but for a nice balanced family holiday with not too many strict rules to spoil things its a fab place to stay.

This is a site with fantastic views that our family have enjoyed camping at for many summers. More recently, improvements have been made such as the roadways onto the camping areas making easier access (especially when wet), and chimneas and braziers at various places around the camping field, which makes for sociable gatherings with other campers if wanted, or for 'alternative' cooking (excellent baked potatoes).
This is a very family friendly site with a great atmosphere just minutes from the beach and the coast path. Basic provisions can be bought at the camp shop or at one down the road, and the free clean showers are roomy with constant hot water.

We also arrived on site to find shop closed with a note on the door. We had to ring the campsite number to get owner to come out of her farmhouse. Camping field was large with allocated firepit areas. Nice children's play area.
Downside. Toilets had security locks on the doors (toilets were clean). We were disturbed several times by 'family' arguments from a group of other units.
