Back for a 2nd visit along with 6 other families. 2 nights in assorted tents and trailer tents.
From the moment I picked up the 'phone to start the booking process to the moment the last people checked out we received 1st class service (and always with a smile!).
This site simply gets it right! A fantastic balance between good value, good facilities, good pitch sizes, sensible site rules, cleanliness and access to other amenities.
Weather was not clever at all, but with a substantial indoor play centre (Imagine) only 5 minutes drive away we were able to keep 14 children occupied for a few hours - in fact a few of the mums even managed to get to the large Designer Outlet Mall that is also only about 5 mins away!
When back at the site, in between the showers, the children and adults alike made good use of the ball games area, the playground and the games room.
As for the shower block. Excellent! Underfloor heating, and I've never had to turn the temperature down before because the hot water was so warm.
We will be back. Highly recommend.

The site is delightful. Clean and well kept with electric hook up and a large selection of facilities. The staff were helpful and friendly. Another gem of a site to find in February!

Visited this site many years ago so decided it was time to revisit it. The site is divided into two and the new part, near reception is spaciously laid out. The older part, across the road seems far more cramped and the pitches varied somewhat in size, and the circular access road was a little on the narrow side. The staff on the site were extremely friendly and helpful and the site was really well looked after.
Unfortunately, a mix up with our booking meant that we received an apologetic phone call 4 days before the start of our break saying they were no longer able to offer us a full serviced pitch - a EHU hardstanding was offered instead, which we accepted. On our pitch, the car had to be parked on the tarmaced area which was like a widened part of the road at the head of our pitch. This meant that our pitch was very close to the one next door. After putting up the (large porch) awning, there was little more than 1 metre between the awning door and the back of the caravan next door, making it probably the smallest pitch we have ever used, with no grassed area in between. I think it would be in order for the site to revisit the siting/size of some pitches in the older part of the site.
Other than the particular pitch we were given, the comments of other reviews I agree with. The site is centrally positioned for visiting many areas of Kent and is fairly close (10 min car ride) to the Tesco supermarket. The site provides information about local pubs etc and the recommended fish and chip shop is certainly 5-star.
The site didn't really 'do it for us', but I can appreciate that those who were better sited would be really happy.

Wife and I stayed here for a week and half in September. It was our second caravan type holiday using my sisters Swift 6 birth.
What a lovely little site.
Could not ask for better service.
There is a little shop for essentials but there is a Tesco just up the road.
The Queens pub does a lovely breakfast for a really great price for down south.
I will go back again sometime

Stayed at this site during a wet school half term. The site did not get muddy and remained clean. The shower blocks were always clean and warm and the showers hot enough. The play area and TV room were a big hit to all the kids and the campers kitchen a great idea. The reception staff were helpful but some of their local knowledge was not good (they could not tell us which local beaches allowed dogs). The dog walking field was good. My only complaint was that we had to pay extra for a larger pitch which had we not mentioned the size of our tent we probably would not have needed as the pitches were good size.

We spent a week on this campsite. We found it very roomy and everywhere was very clean.
The only problem we found was the children used the road way through as a race-track though they all seemed to play well together.
The other problem we found and others as well was the children in the shower block were unsupervised and were messing around shouting and screaming which did put me off having a shower there and I ended up showering in the caravan for peace.

Showers, toilets and washing up areas were all kept wonderfully clean as was the whole site in general. Very handy to have a freezer and fridge to use where you can put your food in a marked bag for up to 5 days all free of charge!Microwave oven use was free too.
If you want a quiet pitch go for the adults only area which is the opposite side of the lane to the main site as at the weekends it is invaded with loads of kids on bikes etc screaming and shouting and going round and round the main area from first thing in the morning until late at night!Despite there being a 'all quiet after 11pm' there were nights when midnight and gone large groups were still partying! There is also a certain amount of noise all the time from the main road and trains; we were there for 2 weeks and it didn't make any difference with the wind direction!
The shop has all the basic stuff and has visitor leaflets available with train and bus timetables all sorts of local info. There is a big Tesco with a petrol station just a few minutes up the road which is really handy.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
All in all a good site for families.

What a great weekend!
A group of 7 families arriving with primary school children at 1700 on a Friday evening is not necessarily something that would please many people, however at Broadhembury we were made to feel totally welcome.
Excellent service from booking, through arrival and during the duration of our stay.
The shower block was excellent - clean, warm, hot water always available, well situated on the site.
The pitches allocated to us were more than enough to accommodate some relatively substantial tents and accompanying vehicles.
We used a local fish and chip shop to 'phone through an order for 14 adults and 13 children on the Friday night which was collected and served us brilliantly.
Appropriate curfews in place for children and adults alike.
Ashford is very close by, and en route to there is a large Tescos. This also meant had it got wet, cinema, 10 pin bowling, swimming pool etc are all on the doorstep.
We were blessed with good weather, so the play area and sports field were the centre of daytime activities, and were just what we needed for football, rounders, cricket etc etc
Would thoroughly recommend (for families in particular) and we hope to re-visit in 2010.

This was our first visit to this site. 6 adults and 8 children. Overall a very clean and well kept site. Toilet and shower facilities exceptionally clean, Good area for kids to play ball games and also a small games room.
The only problem we found was the regimental style of 'lights out campers' of the management. On our first night we were asked by a lady with a torch,'did we know the site rules ?. This was at 10.20. At the end of the day, it is a campsite in the school holidays with kids and as adults as long as you keep the noise down and within reason, you should be able to stay up past 11.00 and at least be able to have a chat and enjoy yourself. We were told off for having a School sports day with all the kids and adults in our area of the park,( of which had a great time) at 8.20!. I thought this was what camping was all about.
Anyway, if you want a very clean, very tidy, very well maintained and quiet site, then look no further, this is the site to go to.
Overall a nice site.
