We have been going to this site for about 15 years. The facilities are really basic and we worry about visiting with friends or family in case they cannot adjust to not having a shower or washing up area or EHU. But we need not worry because everyone who has been with us always goes back again. Silverdale is a great little village and it is always a lovely walk over the knott into Arnside. On a wet day Kendall is only 20 minutes drive away and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs to keep everyone happy. Looking forward to going back again this year.

I found site by accident, and what a find, cheap and the owners were great. The facilities basic, but, if only staying for a couple of days, weren`t that bad. The only slight moan was, the ground was hard for putting tent pegs in! All in all, great views, good base for doing other things, I would stay here again

Lovely site, toilets very basic and no showers but if you enjoy back to basic camping this is the place to go. We were up in the top field which was so roomy my children could play football without any complaints and although it was Easter week and very busy it was lovely and quiet. The farmer is a real gem, cant wait to go back

We have been going to this beautiful campsite for years , and never tired of it , our children have grown up visiting this 'Special' place , the best thing about it is , it's lovely and quiet, lots of fantastic walks over the Knott ( hill ) and down into Arnside ,and see the 'Bore' this happens when the tide starts coming in from the irish sea, great for birdwatchers, owls and you can see roe deer on a regular basis, great views across to the mountains of the Lake District and the owners are really nice.

Aug 2003 Back to basics sort of site. Loos, in a ramshackle building probably built by someone fresh out of national service, with hard paper much to the incredulity of my 12-year-old niece. Couple of rickety sinks and hot water at a trickle complete the mod cons list. Several fields with lovely views over Morecambe Bay but caravans get all the flat pitches while tents on the hill! Kids kept well entertained by Lucky the sheep, Shetland ponies and family of Fallow deer. Adults kept well entertained by hilarious owner - the Basil Fawlty of the camping world. Rough and ready but can't wait to go back.

A small private campsite on rolling grass fields, not many flat areas, toilet facilities are basic. But it is a quiet and peaceful site and there is a lovely circular walk from the site over Arnside Knott to the village of Arnside and then along the creek and then by the edge of Morecombe Bay and back to Far Arnside. Two pubs and a fish and chip shop in Arnside.
