I would highly recommend this site. Very family friendly, plenty of space for the kids and excellent facilities, all set in a wonderful location miles from any busy roads.
There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, but dont miss the fab little railway that runs next to the site.
I will certainly return

Tynllwyn is an excellent campsite in lovely surroundings. The owners are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful, nothing is too much trouble! The pitches are well spaced out even when the site is full! It is great for children our 11 year old and 6 year old loved it as it is really safe for them to go off and play. We enjoyed it so much that we will definitely be going again next year. The only thing that could be improved are the toilet and shower block although very clean (and free) they need a little modernisation.

What a lovely family site. Well sheltered and lovely views of the surrounding hills. Ok so the loos and showers aren't palacial but they are kept very clean and tidy with free hot water. Only a 20p charge for use of the hairdryer. The kids playground was great fun for our two aged 5 and 7 with well maintained swings, slide, climbing frame and seesaws. No dogs are allowed in this area. There is also a games room with a games console (no charge) and table tennis table (30p for a table tennis ball). The site was pretty and well maintained and the owners were very friendly and helpful. In fact Pat took some of the children for a quadbike ride around the field when the site was quiet during the day. A great hit with the kids. The Talyllyn narrow guage railway runs past the site and the drivers often wave at the campers as they steam past. The only critisism is the very small on-site shop which could do with more items available and maybe opened twice a day instead of once. However with Tywyn just 2.5 miles down the road with a large Co-Op and Spar shop groceries were easily bought. Lots of activities in the area. A lovely beach at Aberdovy, the railway, Dolgoth Falls and a few miles away at Corris was King Arthurs Labrinth and Craft centre. We will definitely be back to this site.

We spent a very good weekend here, Plenty of room good loos etc and very helpful owners. On the afternoon the owners made a water slide for all the kids (and some bigger kids) on the site, pitty I was a bit to old for that but enjoyed watching the children. Have tried to rebook but due to the quality of the site it can be a bit difficult. Will try to go again

Tynllwyn is a superb site in a beautiful location, and is consequently very popular. It is very well maintained and the presentation of the facilities and grounds are excellent. The camping field is large and the pitches, both electric and no electric are marked out. There are trees and hedges all around to offer some shelter. All in all a very suitable site for short breaks or longer holidays.

Nice little site with friendly staff, never had far to walk for anything on site, toilets and showers were always clean but a little dated but don't let that put you off. Great play area for the little ones, and indoor table tennis, and game boy room for older ones or young at heart. Plenty of space to pitch and picnic tables provided. Lovely views, we will be back.

One of the best camping sites in wales, I stayed there for 2 days most recently, it's a lovely clean and friendly place to stay. And not far from Tywyn. There is a few bad points, it has limited items in the shop and from what I can gather two showers in the men's block. A bit too quiet and needs a pool table. Plus points, Location, clean, well looked after, friendly, the scenery, near by attractions, quietness is a good thing too though, friendly staff. And everything else mentioned in other reviews

Very nice site! Very clean and well kept with pretty flower borders and pots. Reception clearly signposted which is always a good thing (I hate going to sites where you don't know where to go!)
Showers were free and both those and the toilets were spotless. Washing up facilities right next door to a clean and pleasant children's play area which kept our three happy whilst we washed up.
Very quiet for end of April, on our second night there we had the field practically to ourselves. Very quiet and pretty site with the narrow gauge railway close by.
There is also a public footpath a short distance from the campsite down the lane (you'll see the sign next to a stile) which is a very pleasant walk on a nice evening.
Lots of places to visit in the local area, I would recommend the Honey Ice Cream (on the road to Twywn) which was very very nice! The site is just two miles from Twywn where there is a good sized Coop and a Spar if you want to stock up. We didn't think much of Barmouth (too commercialised for us) but the beach did look lovely! Others may prefer it if you're looking for 'holiday' type things! We also visited King Arthurs Labyrinth which isn't too far away in Corris, well worth the money, the kids loved it (age 8, 4 and 2) and even our 2yr old was ok but it does go pitch black in places so if you have a little one scared of the dark I wouldn't risk it.
We will definitely return, its a very quiet and peaceful site.

We stayed here for a few days and I was well impressed with this site. The people who ran it are welcoming and friendly, nice people. We accidentally camped in the wrong place, but we were not made to move.It is set in the prettiest part of Wales, in my opinion. Would definately use this site again.
