We have returned from a weekend at this campsite. We eventually found the site after about 2 hours driving around asking locals where it was. Don't use the Google route map below. It gets you into Triangle, but not the site! When we arrived, most of the field was taken by tents, so advisable to get there early if want good location. The site is surrounded by woodland where many of the campers where getting their wood for, for their campfires. The facilities are adequate for camping; a working toliet, shower is so needed and washing facilities. Most pitches have a bbq or gridle provided. We found there to be lots of families with children and didn't find a problem with dogs. We took a dog with us and really enjoyed it. The nearest pub is the Triangle Inn, but after walking through the woodland (just for a walk there is a lot more easier route available), we found it to be closed for a refurb, so we walked 2 miles into Sowerby, where the is plenty of night life. There is a also a Tesco if need any supplies! I would suggest going near the canal, there is a nice pub and restaurant around there. Just up the road is the Navigator's pub which has a nice small grassed beer garden and serves nice home cooked food. Enjoyed the trip, ideal for a quick get away (45 mins away for us). Good for those who need something going on locally. Taxi back form Sowerby to Campsite cost us £3.50. Bus stop on main road. Post office and cafe on main road nearst place for food. Shop now shut!

I first visited this site at Easter, my first camping trip for 3 years! I had travelled from Anglesey to find the owners were very friendly and easy going, which made for a friendly atmosphere on the campsite.
Yes, the toilet block only has one unit per sex but they are all the facilities you need.A shower, toilet and sink! No hot water from the sink tap but hey! Just have a shower instead!.LOL
There are plenty of walks to be had in the surrounding woods and a dip in the nearby river is a must when the warmer weather comes!
Just down the lane is a friendly, welcoming pub that allows children and dogs although such fun was had by all the campers during the day and into the early night, that there was no need for us to visit the pub!
As for the dog muck, well the only trouble we had was from local people treating the campsite as their local dog walk!
It would be nice to be able to book a pitch though, as it's such a long trip from Anglesey, it would be a shame to arrive and find the campsite full.
Even so, we will definitely be coming here again! :o)

What a fab little site, set in lovely surroundings with the friendliest of owners, who just leave you to your own devices. You can do no wrong in staying at this site
My friends and I found this site using UK campsites and chose it due to the reviews and the fact that it allowed campfires, and big parties and are we so happy that we did. We had advised them before arrival that we were a load of festival goers that were getting together before the season kicked off and Chris took this on board without a flinch. Instead they welcomed us and even sectioned off an area of their site especially for us, so that we could all camp together, without interfering with any of the other campers that we also there that weekend.
We had about 18 tents in total with 3 gazebos and we still had enough space to dance around the campfires etc until the very early hours of the morning
Yes the facilities are basic, but so what, camping isnt always about having your home luxuries, its about getting back to basics. Also in the couple of days that our party was there, never did we come across the problem of dog muck, even though dogs were present with other fellow campers
All in all we all had an excellent weekend and have all said that we will definitely be going back sooner rather than later

Just returned from a fantastic weekend away. If you've ever fancied getting right down to basics then this is the place to try. As previous reviews have stated, the facilities are very basic with only one shower and toilet per sex and no hot water except for the showers. They've just installed a sink for washing up but the hot water is a trickle and takes ages to fill up. The general condition of the facilities is rather scruffy but functional and adds to the general fun of mucking in on holiday. The owners are friendly and just leave you to it. Quite trusting too as they don't ask for any deposit or personal details, which is a bit of a concern as there's no comeback if anything gets damaged etc. Would like to have seen stricter rules on dog control as when we were there a guy turned up with 2 dogs who were running round the field and fouling it, which he never bother to clean up. Would also have liked to have seen the owner set an example controlling his dog as it came running over to us, barking and jumped up with muddy paws and was also allowed to foul on the field. What made it for us was being able to light a campfire, the peacefulness and the fact that it's just on our doorstep. A great hidden gem. We'll definitely be retuning.

Just returned from a night here . The main reason for choosing this site was the open camp fire policy but we never had one as we were too cold . Good points Level field with trees both sides Only £7.50 a night . Friendly help full owners Camp fires allowed. Bad points Dog dirt, all over our airbed whilst inflating it ( even though site almost empty saw dogs roaming not on leads). Toilets/showers. These were in a wooden shed but the toilet shower and basin were all in the same room so if someone was in shower or using toilet the door was locked and you had no where to go . I can see this been a major problem when its busy there. The basin did not have hot water connected to it so had to wash face in cold water ( good job I didn't need a shave) Only enough Electric hook ups for a few tents. No loo roll

I use this site as it`s so quiet. What a way to "wind down". The dog and I pull up set up then go off walking. Very dog friendly too. Facilities are basic but very clean and well maintained. The owners are so dedicated and make you feel very welcome. I recommend this site to anyone who wants the peaceful life. I will use the site throughout the winter months.

Visited last night on short notice ie a phone call to see if there were any spaces. Owners fantastic, any more laid back would be horizontal. Toilets/showers immaculate. Other users friendly, walks in woods great, totally recommend. Local shop, small but seemed to cover everything needed when camping. Going back soon and often.

Visited this site with a few of my friends and their kids and had a great time! its a small site with only 2 showers, one male and one female, but it's a large family room with sink and toilet and they have a plug point for a hair dryer. The site is in an small old fashioned town, it's very picturesque! There is a post office at the top of the lane that sells almost everything. The kids spent all day exploring on the feild or in the woods collecting firewood for the nights bonfire. Originally was going to stay for 2 nights but ended up staying for 3. The only complaint I did have is that there was quiet a lot of dog poo on the field, there is a long term resident living in a caravan whilst she has her house built,they had 3 dogs, and I never saw her with a pooposcoop once! For £7.50 a night including hook up its a bargain and I will definitely return next year. {and hopefully the dog doo wont be there}

Quite a nice site although it is very basic but the good value price reflects this, £7.50 for a night with hook up! Only 1 toilet/shower for each sexes but OK if not too busy. The owners were friendly, relaxed and helpful. They suggested the Cricket Club for a drink, walks etc. The post office on the main road stocked most basic things. Millbank village was a quite nice place to walk around returning via the woods. It also looked to have a great pub/restaurant that was recommended by the Guardian and Independent.

Just got back and must say what a great friendly camp. No curfew was the thing what attracted us and just typical we were outdone by the great site owners who were having their own party which I must say they did invite us to. Toilets and showers were immaculately clean which was surprising owing to the amount of rain we had. Cricket club at end of road made us more than welcome and even offered to make us some sandwiches. Only ten minutes walk from train station and you can park cars immediately at side of your tent. Camp owners encourage you to take part in the full camping experience and will even help you to get the necessities for a camp fire. Hoping to go back in the next few weeks and cant wait. From John the coach of the Middleton ladies rugby team, thank you .
