 A basic site with tired facilities, large pitches with good views but will not return again.
It's a shame with a bit of effort, care and attention this could be a lovely peaceful site.

Absolutely loved this campsite, my first time visiting but will definitely not be the last.
Back to basics campsite on a working farm with the most amazing views.
Direct access (although quite steep) to Lathkill Dale.
Toilets and showers very basic but perfectly fine and were always well stocked.
For £8 a night per adult there is nothing not to like about this little gem xxx

What a great peaceful campsite in a lovely part of the Peak District. The campsite is accessible off a B road that I joined from Bakewell - may be a bit too narrow a lane if you have a wider Motorhome or caravan.
The campsite owners are farmers who were very helpful and friendly and allowed me to pay by bank transfer from my phone when I arrived.
The cost was reasonable, given the sky high price for electricity at the moment - I paid £8 for my pitch and £8 for electric hook up. The site is a very spacious grassy field which I imagine could become waterlogged after heavy rain if you were pitched at the lower end of the field.
The views of Lathkilldale and surrounding White Peak area are beautiful but be prepared for a strong breeze as there is no shelter and I stayed there in windy weather!
The showers and toilets looked spotless with plenty of ventilation so Covid friendly, although I didn’t use them myself as I have my own facilities in my campervan.
I can’t comment on child friendliness as I was a solo camper but I imagine it’s a good place if children like the outdoor life with a rope swing and a grassy field to play on.
Highly recommended if you like peace and quiet with walks into Lathkilldale and surrounding White Peak area directly from the campsite.

Great Campsite! Lovely setting, atmosphere and staff (very kind and helpful).
Fire pits were really useful.
Odd location (Have to walk through an industrial estate to get there) but it’s not a big problem.

Lovely friendly welcome nice and clean site with plenty of room to choose we’re to pitch your tent.
Had a lovely few nights very peaceful this is a working farm and you do hear the cows mooing in the fields which is nice great for listening to the birds especially at night.
There were no showers or toilets open due to Covid you were told to bring your own toilet tent on booking would recommend and would book again.
The dog enjoyed herself too nice walks from the site.

Myself and my family have been visiting this campsite for over 10 years now myself and partner bring our children it's a wonderful campsite with friendly and helpful staff.
The showers are hot and toilets are always clean and never short of toilet rolls, there is a family room which is especially helpful with a large Belfast sink which is good for small children who don't like a shower, there is also a washroom. The only improvement I would make would be a small park for children to play on.
Set on a farm with lovely views of the countryside and plenty of walks to go on I love going down into the valleys the steps the best work out for your legs, there is also a village a short drive away full of shops takeaways the fish and chips are really good. You can also go and put a padlock on the bridge and feed the ducks and the fish then follow the river round to a big patch of grass which is dog friendly and a park for the children I'd highly recommend visiting

We had a weekend here bank holiday weekend. We camped on the family field. It was amazing, basic campsite, full of like minded campers. Fantastic for children, no plastic play areas, just a copse of woods between the camping fields with a tyre swing. Our boys complained if we had to leave to get get groceries.
Plenty of space for everyone, quiet site, lots of room for children to play and lots of other children to meet.
Toilets are a trek down the track, they are a little cobwebby, but what else do you expect from converted cow sheds.
The owner is very pleasant, we called a few days before to book but was told just to turn up. I imagined a rammed site on arrival, but was very pleased with what we were presented with. On paying for our stay I was surprised with how much it was £12 per night per tent. Amazing value.
Shops are in nearby Bakewell, big supermarket to get supplies (closed on sundays).
We'll definitely return this summer holidays for some camping fun and space for the children to be children.

Visited bank holiday weekend
Toilets need much attention to cleaning, dead spiders flies etc around windows and walls, only cleaning that seemed to be done was quick bleach mop on floor.
Camping area grass was overgrown, simply mowing with tractor would of worked wonders.
Hidden costs - pay for cars additional, pay for dogs addition, pay for gazeboes addition so by the time you add all up it is not that cheap a campsite compared with others.
Surrounding area is lovely and nice walks
They have electric hook up field, family field & group field which I think they should specify which you stay on as we were a group and ended up with a couple and small child pitched next to us which obviously we are going to be up later so would of though they would of been better in family field and advised of this when checking in.
Disappointed with stay. Have stayed here before a couple of years ago but seems to have deteriorated and won't be returning.

Just returned from a 2 night stay, site has outstanding views. Bargain at just £4 a night for adults. Stayed in the far bottom field so was a trek to the toilets. Toilets were always clean, but basic as people have said. No shop on site but as we wanted to get away from it all this suited us down to the ground. On arrival to site had no problem contacting the owners, were told to pitch wherever we wanted.
Lovely walk round Lathkill Dale, beautiful scenery. Short drive to Matlock and even shorter drive to Bakewell, both lovely places.
Will definitely recommend this site if you are looking for peace and quiet. Will be returning soon.
