Great little site set away from anywhere busy. Stunning scenery with some really interesting walks down in the valley just below.
Toilets and showers basic but clean and well kept. No playground for the children but ours still managed to amuse themselves all weekend with the horses and rope swings in the tree's.
No shop on site so take your own food and be prepared for a walk to the toilets/showers if staying on the bottom field.
Friendly owners, good pitch prices, nice and quiet, beautiful scenery, good walks - couldn't ask for much more really.

Site in fabulous location. Friendly owners. Peaceful with no road noise. Went for one night with four children and dog and stayed in family field. Children happy with large field and several rope swings on site. Showers and wc average and were a fair trek from family field. Duke of Edinburgh's have the 1st field. We did a walk from the farm down to the 'river' across to Over Haddon, (river mostly dried up unfortunately). Had food at excellent Bulls Head in Monyash, really friendly atmosphere, good real ales, beer garden and playground to rear. Nearest shop is Bakewell (10mins drive). Ironic that site surrounded by cow farms but have to travel to Bakewell for milk. Yes would go back - as would children.

Lovely, simple campsite, ideal for families. We stayed for a weekend, arriving midday when there was plenty of room to find a pitch. The site has a dedicated field for families although it was the furthest from the toilet block. Owner very relaxed and friendly. Toilet bock was ok although it did get busy at peak times so if you have lots of kids to get washed, try and get there early! No play area for kids but there are some nice walks and a great tyre swing which kept them well entertained. Plenty of other families around so kids made friends and went off to play together. Great location for exploring the local area. We had wanted to try the local pub at Monyash but it was very busy with bikers so we'll have to go another time.

Just returned from my first visit to this site and would use it again. My only complaint is that I was charged 2 pounds per night for my car and each time I left the site other campers had pitched so close to me that I struggled to get my car anywhere near my tent. Otherwise good location and cheap facilities for a week-end break.
There are lovely walks to take and watching the horses was a delight. The toilets were kept clean and it was a busy bank holiday. The washing up facilities were adequate although due to the volume of people the water often ran cool. The owner was very friendly and relaxed. It is placed well to travel into Bakewell and other peak district locations. It is a ramblers paradise with beautiful scenery.
We were not issued with a set time to leave the site which was good. The week-end weather had been bad so on the day of departure it was good to enjoy the sunshine without worrying about taking the tents down too soon.

A great basic camp site that is ideal for a weekend away walking. This is next to a lovely dale walk (with a steep descent. But there is a path down) and is an ideal base for walking or cycling in the local area.
We went in August and were just told to turn up and find a space, which on a friday evening was easy to do. There were four adults, one dog and one tent and for the two nights we paid £36 which I felt was extremely good value. As other users state there are three fields, caravan, family and group. The group field was a little bit noisy but mostly being adult walkers they were asleep by just after midnight.
The facilities are fairly basic (there didn't appear to much in the way of electric hook up), but very user friendly, there is only one toilet block but I never had to queue and there are two showers available for females which again I didn't queue for. These were free and did provide hot water for long enough to wash your hair under.
Overall I would recommend the site, its quiet with lots of animals and walks in close vicinity. The only draw back might be for some people that the nearest shops and pub was a fair walk away but that didn't bother us as we were happy to have the peace and quiet of teh countryside rather than with lots of campsites these days the sound of cars going past constantly!
Would I recommend this.Definitely, will I return.Definitely.

This is a great site if you're looking for cheap and cheerful.
The owner was very friendly and laid back. We were told to find a pitch and then pay when we were leaving! There was no electric hookup available but for one night we didn't mind. There were lots of D of E kids around but didn't cause any problems.
Not much for the children to do as there's no playground etc but it is a working farm so some animals to look at!
We walked to the nearest pub in Monyash, the Bull's Head. It was about a 40 mins walk which was lovely. A friend did give us a lift back in their car though as it was a hill on the way back! Food was excellent.
Facilities at the campsite are basic. Used the toilets and wash up area but didn't bother with the showers as we were only there for 1 night.
All in all an enjoyable weekend, very relaxed with beautiful surroundings.

This site is in beautiful surroundings. It has 3 sheltered fields. One mainly for caravans, one for families and one for groups. Horses are kept in the paddock next to the site and the kids loved feeding them. No playground but my children loved running round the wooded area. NB. Take some rope as the rope swing snapped with my son on it. No major damage caused, just wished we had some more to make a new one. One of the horses is pregnant and is due in 2 weeks (from 3rd June) so if your staying then you might be able to witness the birth.
We were charged £14 per night for tent, 2 adults and 2 children. We walked to Monyash which took about 1 hour and half and we ate at the Bulls Head. It was one of the best meals we've ever had! The village playground backs onto the pub garden and is visible on Google Maps.
Its a bit of a walk to the toilets & showers but we made our own provisions. Lol. The ladies showers were free and the temperature fluctuated. Mens & Family shower used 20p. We took advice from a previous review and went to the Farm Shop in Over Haddon. (turn right out of site, right at junction, the road leads straight into Over Haddon, take left at tjunction, then right. It will be signposted). A 4 min drive away. We bought our BBQ meat and it was delicious and very well priced. I can certainly say we enjoyed our stay.

Me and my boyfriend went to Haddon Grove over bank holiday weekend.
Very friendly owner - despite us not calling until 2pm on the Friday, and requesting to turn up quite late that evening, he still allowed us to camp there (no other sites that we called did). Also relaxed with payments (£30 for 3 nights for 2 people.Bargain).
Toilet and shower blocks - a little far away, especially when your desperate and its raining! However, free showers in the ladies were definitely a bonus for me! Boyfriend a little miffed that he had to pay £1 for a ten minute shower.
As clean as you would expect a campsite to be, and a family shower room is available too.
I also never had to queue, although later in the morning, there was a small queue.
Sadly we managed to pitch our tent next to some small children that were up and screaming way past our bedtime! (Had no problems with groups of teenagers / young groups, they were very considerate and quiet).
Location was perfect as we had a car. Would definitely recommend a drive to Bakewell for a massive slice of 'moist Bakewell tart'.

This was our second visit to Haddon Grove, and this time we went as a large group of 18 with 6 tents in total.
The relaxed nature of the place suited our needs, we were able to pitch in a manner that suited ourselves, yet there was still plenty of room for everyone else.
In the Group field (which has the flattest pitching areas) we were joined by lots of Duke of Edinburgh candidates, this is great, as they are so tired out, they make no noise, no mess, and leave early the following morning.
Toilet and shower facilities are satisfactory. Showers are clean and coin operated, there is a family room if required, but the hot water is a bit temperamental for washing up. We always took boiled water with us, or simply washed up at the tents.
Its a farm full of horses, with some sheep and lambs around as well, plenty of room for the kids to play, and some fantastic countryside and walks on the sites doorstep.
The cost was very reasonable, you will pay more for poorer facilities and location, and we will go back again.

Last stayed at this campsite over the May bank holiday, yet again we were not disappointed, what a lovely site. Excellent value for money, we only paid £11.50 per night for a caravan with EHU! As its only an hour away for us its perfect for a weekend get away.
No play area but the kids kept them selves amused riding there bikes or playing amongst the trees on the tyre swing. The site is very relaxed, having a large family field, (don't think there are hook ups there though), a main field for caravans with a few hook ups and a pack packer field.
I did not use the facilities but the friends we went with did, they said they were clean and they had a lovely long hot shower with no queing! The owner is very relaxed, on arrival we were just told to set up and pay later.
There are some lovely walks right from the site, so if you are stocked up there is no need to use the car. We walked down the dale, (a bit of a steep descent with young children, mine loved it though, I just worried because they were racing ahead!), once at the bottom though, we walked right into Monyash where there is a lovely pub called The Bulls Head, great play area at the back and lovely well priced food!
This was our second visit to this site and we will definitely go back!
