 We really enjoyed our stay on this site. Culzean castle and its extensive grounds are a full day visit though we did it over 2 days as on day 1 we also walked to Maidens when we realised how close we were from the Swan Pond!
On day 2 we attempted to walk along the Ayrshire Coastal Path to Dunure but were thwarted by the high tide at Croy. If you want to do this make sure you avoid the 2 hrs either side of high tide and remember you return on the same route. The alternative path we thought was there is completely overgrown if it ever existed!
The site itself is perfectly maintained and most pitches have sea views. Nearest shop is 4 miles away in Maybole but the castle has a few places to eat.
If the weather had been better we would have extended our stay and used the bus service from outside the site to visit Ayr and Girvan.
We did have bikes with us but it’s quite hilly and was very windy so never got them off the van!

Another lovely weekend at our favourite site which has great sea views (although not from all of the pitches!)
The facilities block is kept clean and tidy, and the staff are welcoming and friendly.
We recommend walking into the grounds of Culzean castle (via the ticket office!), and on down the coast to Maidens.
Maidens has a nice bistro called Ropes which has outdoor seating with sea views, and there is also a small (but well stocked ) shop which does takeaway food and drinks too.

First time staying at this caravan site. We had been to Moffat first, its a small site within the grounds of the National Trust Culzean castle.
We were put in the lower field but had a good hard standing pitch that overlooked the sea, although you couldn't get to the sea from the site itself. Free wifi on site, all the amenities were good.
There is a walk through the gate in this field that takes you through the woods & into Culzean estate.
You have to pay to go in the house unless you are a member which we are but there is lots of paths to walk around free if you are a good walker.
If you go into the estate in your car through the barrier you will have to pay or show your cards. We did both, walking one day & driving another when the weather was bad.
We visited Dunure castle ruin along the coast, it was a beautiful day & we had lunch in the Harbourside Cafe, it was lovely, but the cafe is only small so places are limited. Ayr itself had some closed shops like most sea side towns.
There is a Co-op & a fish shop in Maybole about 4 miles from site. On our final day we went to Rozelle Park, I loved this, there was a lake with ducks/swans & a trail with nursery rhyme themed statues, a section dedicated to World War 2 & lots of walks around the woods.
The trip across from Moffit site didn't have any parking signs if you wanted to rest so you were past them before you even saw them.
Also our sat nav lost the plot nr Maybole as this looks like new roads, just keep on the A77 Stranrae & follow the sign for Culzean castle off one of the roundabouts just past Maybole, don't turn off & go into Maybole

Stayed midweek for two nights and had a beautiful view from the front row overlooking the sea, following a very friendly welcome from one of the site team.
As is usual on club sites the facilities are fantastic.
We had a trip around the castle and a nice walk around the grounds.
Think we paid £62 for two nights with EHU

Beautiful site with spotless facilities. Lovely pitch looking over the water. Lovely friendly staff.
Nice walk to the castle and plenty walks for the dog. Lovely restaurants a short drive away.
We were okay but our elderly neighbour struggled with the water and grey Water. It was a bit of a distance for him with nothing in between but we did help him. That would be the only negative thing for less able people to haul water and waste.

We cycled a quiet circular route from the site to Kirkoswald, Wallacetown, Kirkmichael, Minishant and back to Culzean. Kirkmichael has a great community run shop and café, where we had a good lunch outside.
We recommend walking into the grounds of Culzean castle (via the ticket office!), and on down the coast to Maidens. Maidens has a nice bistro called Ropes which has outdoor seating with sea views, and there is also a small (but well stocked ) shop which does takeaway food and drinks too.

We recommend walking into the grounds of Culzean castle (via the ticket office!), and on down the coast to Maidens. There is a viewing platform at Swinston Ponds ( not far from the bigger swan pond in Culzean ) where we spent ages watching the herons at their heronry.
There is a café within the grounds of Culzean, but there is also a nice bistro in Maidens, called Ropes which has outdoor seating with sea views.

Good welcome and spacious grass pitch close to field. Undulating site. Facilities clean with hot water.
On the negative side we only found one unit for drinking water and the waste bins were just outside the entrance to the site.
Having said that it was very quiet and despite the thick mist on the day we were there, I think it has good views.
No shops just nearby, so take with you what you need.
