We loved this site. The views in the evening looking over the Isle of Arran are wonderful.
We agree with everything that 'Gerryrys' says in particular beware the sloping ground if you are a motorhome. The campsite staff were very helpful and friendly.
Campsite toilet and shower facilities were modern and clean.
The castle is about 15-20 minutes walk from the campsite and is well worth a visit. You can easily spend a day exploring. They have a comprehensive second hand bookshop at the castle and a good restaurant/café.

As scenic a site as you could find. No traffic noise at all and spectacular views.
The wardens are professional and accommodating. Everything is clean and well ordered.
Several of the pitches are sloping and in a motorhome or camper van you will need proper man sized wedges if you want a level van and don't want to wake with a nose bleed because your head is a too far below your feet.
Be warned. If you are thinking of visiting, ring ahead and book. They are very busy. Pitches with EHU are at a premium.
It is great value if you are a club member.
If you do get a pitch, enjoy.

Just spent 3 days in half term at this site. The site itself is well looked after. Toilet blocks are clean but dated. The shower cubicle I used had plenty of hot water but beware too hot when turned up full.
We would have liked more washing up sinks as there were only 2 for the whole site and it did get busy at times.
The children's play area is basic being a swing and slide and no separate designated ball games area.
Our pitch was 49a and was not ideal as was right next to the bins and water taps (as in right next to) and did feel like the pitch had just been slotted in as an afterthought
The area itself is lovely and you could easily lose yourself in the Culzean Castle grounds and beach for several days. Ayr too has a nice clean beach and free seafront parking!
All in all a nice site

The site is in a lovely location with some of the pitches having sea views which look over to the isle of Arran.
The staff on the site were all really friendly and helpful, they keep the site in an excellent condition, with the toilet and showers being of a high standard.
The site itself is quiet and the locked gate policy ensures peace.
Next to the site is the National Trust for Scotland owned Culzean Castle and Country Park, this is well worth a visit, although it did seem expensive if you are a non NT member.
I would definitely recommend this site. And if you visit make sure you take the coast road to Ayr. The electric brae is interesting.
If you fancy a drive take a trip to Scotland's most southerly point the Mull of Galloway, it is well worth, the drive down the coast is great and the views from the Mull of Galloway are amazing.

Spent a week at site. The staff are the most helpful & friendly at any club site we have been to in 4 years. They always had time for a word or a hello and made it such a nice atmosphere. Views to arran are wonderful, culzean castle next door although chargeable to enter it is good value for money. Nearby Maybole has Co-op & Chinese restaurant that is v cheap, 4 diners with drinks £44 so we went twice at that price why not. Plenty of little beaches to visit too along the coast. Culzean is National Trust so if you're a member bingo. We joined on the day £5 per month DD, so we went twice in the week.

Visited site for first time and will definitely be returning. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and nothing was a bother to them, (even seen one of the wardens helping a family erect their tent).
Toilet and shower block were spotlessly clean as was the whole site, never once when wandering about did I see any litter etc. There is a small shop on site with the essentials.
The kids loved playing in the swing park which was a stones throw away from where I was pitched and made lots of new friends.
The staff on site both have accommodation adjacent to the park gates which are locked from 11pm till 7am each night.
Being a single mother on my own with my two young children I felt so welcome and safe on this site due to the staff.
I even whilst there joined the caravan and camping club and would highly recommend this site to anyone.

Very nice site, friendly staff that seemed to want to help where they could. The facilities were a very good standard clean and plenty of room. We felt as if we paid a fair price for this site. There is a nice walk down to the Castle past the gate house down the right hand side through the trees where you can walk around the Castle grounds. Well worth the effort and there's things for children to see and do once inside the grounds. We found getting to the site was quite easy. They also sell essential items in the shop. Good site

We spent 2 nights here and had a fantastic time. We pitched in the middle area for tents and got a level pitch (tho some looked slightly sloping. Our three kids were kept busy playing in the small playpark area. We had a great view over to Arran - beautiful sunsets!
The toilet/shower block was kept very clean, everyone seemed conscientious to mop up after themselves in the showers. Only small issue was that the grass had been recently cut and easily got walked into the shower block. Plenty of space, privacy and hotwater when showering.
The owners of the campsite were very helpful, relaxed and generally out and about.
Culzean itself is great for spending time with the kids, a great range of things to do although if you're not a national trust member it can be pricey to get into the grounds/castle.

Our first time away using the caravan just for a night with my 2 eldest boys.
Very friendly and helpful staff on arrival. All site info given and where the best walks are etc.
Gates locked after 11pm which gives a nice feeling of security.
We had a lovely pitch with a sea view.
The toilet / shower block was very clean and had plenty of showers / toilets.
A lovely quiet site over looking the Ayrshire Coastline.
We will definitely be back again.

Nice site loverly view out to sea.
The staff are helpful and the toilets although could do with updating are always clean.
The site shop is small and sells local produce and fresh local bread.
The pitches are slightly slopped but is a loverly quite location.
The site is next door to Culzean castle and is well worth a vist, although set aside a whole day for this as the grounds are very large.
I would reconmend trying to get onto one of the tours as it gives a change to find more infomation out.
